« on: April 29, 2015, 14:13 »
Uff, total mess with entire site, not just uploading.
I tried to check my earnings- nothing...
Site must be in repair, upgrade or something else.
If tomorrow will not be fixed, I will contact support stuff.
Will report here, when I receive reply.
You have to be patient to check earnings.  The page does eventually load.  Saying that, most of the sales say zero amount

I've got  images uploaded by ftp yesterday approved and online already.   Trying to get to your stats takes a long wait though.  The site seems very buggy the last few months.

« on: April 29, 2015, 07:04 »
I just checked out my last 40 sales.   1 was from  a 2011 upload, 2 from 2009 and all the rest were from before that with the majority from 2006.
From my last 40 uploads which have been there since February  I have only had 2 credit sales, one was and xxL for 1.5'$ and and XXXL for 1.73.  I would rather have sales that size at DT.
Of my last 20 dls they have all already had over 500 dls so I assume that they are being found by people doing a search by number of dls rather than the default which would probably take hundreds of pages to find them.

« on: April 29, 2015, 02:25 »
today is indeed low, 90 subs, 10 ODs, should be 15 OD and 110 subs.  europe was low today....
That's normal fluctuation.  It's perfectly normal to sometimes have 90 and other  days 110.  If it was 40 today then you would have reason to be concerned.

I had a zero download day yesterday on SS on a perfectly normal weekday - something that hasn't happened to me since I joined them in August 2006. I am concerned...
That is worrying.

I've just had half and half rejections from a batch because of lighting when the lighting is exactly the same in every photo.  I'll just leave it a few weeks and put them up with another batch.

« on: April 29, 2015, 01:36 »
I used to really enjoy the forums in the earlier days but have barely looked at them for years.  The only time I go there now is if I follow a link from this site.  Istock was where it all started for me  and it's sad to see the way it has gone.

I've had sales on a batch approved this morning too so the problem seems to have sorted itself out.   For now!!

I'm now getting this error which I have no idea what it means - Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NONAME - Neither nodename nor servname provided, or not known.
I don't think I have ever got ftp to work on Ponds but the site upload is usually ok

OK thank you.  I should have thought of that.

Has anybody tried to upload to ponds5 today?  I am getting an error on ftp saying that too many people are already connected and the site upload isn't working for me either.

Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

I didn't get any notification of payment, either from Istock or Paypal, like I usually do, but looks like the money is there.  These days the amount is so small it doesn't make the balance jump enough to notice.

Oh, and thanks to the two helpful ones who gave -1s for asking a question.  It's people like you who make this such a pleasant and useful place to get information.
Maybe the minuses were for Istock not you.

I had 2 SODs for 17.40 each yesterday :D  Love it when that happens.

I had Lee look at my port and he said no.

« on: April 23, 2015, 02:46 »
Yes, I notice that too! And a few month I sell only (read: ONLY) my old photos! Nothing new, thats weird!
I don't find that.  Fotolia is one place where I know that at least a few of each batch will take off well.  Even moreso than SS. Maybe I have a better placement in the search there.  Although at DT I get really good placement in the searches but new images take ages to start selling.

Before New year I have excellent "placement in the search" there. I was 7/day rang 200 and better. Today I am rang 7/day 1000+. Before New year FT was my best stock, better than SS and IS. Today barely better than DT. What happend, only FT know!  :-X
They may have had some sort of re-shuffle because since new year my sales are way up.  I don't usually look at ranking so have no idea if that has changed or not.

Put your photos online somewhere with a link to them that doesn't require opening a zip file.

They really are deluded if they think they are still at the top.  I find it quite sad.  I loved Istock as it was my first and best selling stock site and had a great community spirit.  I rarely go to the site now and never to the forums.

I actually enjoy the excitement of Alamy sales as you never know if you are going to get a few dollars or a few hundred dollars. It's occasionally a bit like hitting the jackpot.

I reached an all time Alamy low on April 14.  2 images sold for 2.1$ each. !!!

Why oh why do you guys beat yourself up for 0.25 - 0.38 per download? it makes no sense to me at all.
You are starting to sound like a parrot.  Yes, we know you don't like subs and we are fed up with hearing about it. !!!

Actually, that was not my point. The image/s for whatever reason/s was rejected as per SS standards for better or worse as per their requirements etc. Get over it, move on. If a shot is rejected for being out of focus, once, twice, three times take the clue. This has nothing to do with subs, rejection is rejection, accept it and get on with life. I may not like subs, but my gut tells me that SS knows what they want and what they don't want and 24 pages of whining is really sounding like a parrot.... lot's of parrots.
Yes, I agree on that point.  If they don't want the image then we just have to move on.
