Why do the few people here defending the Greeks constantly attack the person who doesn't agree with them, instead of the comment. I've seen Cobalt talk more sense than anyone else in the last 3 pages.
Speak for yourself and dont try to encapsulate (conveniently) who talks more sense here, and who gets attacked by whom and for what reason. You are the one in this thread that steps in and tries to moderate the conversation when you feel that is steering away from the general consensus. I know that you like cobalt's views but thats your business and if cobalt or anyone else posting here makes sense or not that here is for us(EDIT:for "ME to judge" is more appropriate) to judge,this conversation is not a live political debate. You never go off topic dragging P5 into every conversation, right? You never have a squabble with anyone, right?

I dont know Alex, the way they have been attacking Germany, Merkel and Schuble is an attack on all the millions of Germans that democratically elected them. These are our chosen representatives and if you continuosly attack and insult them, you are insulting all of us here in Germany.

Since they were elected, what changes greek government have implemented to combat the corruption and the taxes invasion?
They spend their time in European reunions, they don't present serious proposals, how they expect their country to be sustainable? They need to be sustainable to avoid the unhealthy financial system. When they are not in reunions they go to TV and Twitter telling the europeans are terrorist. They closed the banks for a week and they go to TV telling the greeks it is Europe fault. Eurozone is not only Germany and France, it is mainly countries with smaller monthly minimum wage, and surely where you don't pay 2 euros for a coffee... That government is not showing any respect or consideration for the other countries (what kind of democracy is this?) and I think this situation is going to a wrong direction for the greek people, both for the YES or NO perspective.
They only talk of debt restructuring, how many debt restructuring they had already? They don't make changes in their country to limit their expanses, they just need to ask for debt restructuring once a year.
Honestly, if I see only in a personal interest, it's better for me that Greece don't leave the euro because it weaknen the euro.

But if there is honesty that can surpass this primal fear of personal loss to the point that someone will come out and openly say "im sorry for them (they messed up though) but im afraid more that it will all tumble down and come to bite me in the @ss" ,meaning that one does not afraid to expose him/herself openly, we then have a connection as people. If we dont have at least this kind of honesty in a discussion then we have here what i described many pages back (wont quote myself) . Over and out.

You don't seem to realise how much today's "western" media and European extremism are infested with Kremlin's money. Ideology is not relevant. Still would like to hear from someone who has his $hit in order unlike Germany,to explain to us a few things.
Two simple questions.

I am curious to see in the foreseeable future how exactly Scheuble will convince a german society in total shock and awe,that they will need from now on to get used to "socialism" .
Part time work,etc etc (unless the german society can handle 20-25% instant unemployement without burning half the country to the ground through riots) .Not even goint to expand on public spending etc or their debt which is conveniently "hidden in a closet" .

Isn't a government representing their people? The people of Greece voted these people into office. Their minister of finance is playing tricks and telling lies just like all the others before him. They've got 230 billion dollar and need 50 billion more. Its time they leave the euro so they can sort out their issues. No need to drag the rest of Europe with them.
This actualy encapsulates the whole point of this conversation,especially the last sentence,and it is very funny that this whole conversation is nothing but a byproduct of fear and doubt,just like in most media and conversations these days. Regardless of Greece leaving the Eurozone or staying in it,the Eurozone is pretty much dead,and if you fail to see it (not you personally) then you are in for a big surprise. Germany wants to impose restrictions,and they are very good at it, but they are not ready to do for the the Eurozone anything positive (they avoid Eurobonds and QE like the plague) . Ultimately this will lead to its destruction sooner or later. If the black sheep of Europe though (Greece) -via its departure- becomes the force that will force Germans to stop behaving like idiots then so be it.Actually i hope this is the case but sadly it doesnt look like it.

Greeks have been known to be notoriously lazy and hot headed as well and i am no exception,after all i always had a hard time staying on a discussion expecially when my discussants
believe that they make simple logical and clean points but in reality they mix in a huge amount of ascertations,convenient truths,media agenda,racial stereotypes,simplistic views etc etc that would take a huge amount of time to break down one by one.

Whats going on here seriously it would be almost funny what has been expressed here as well as the the manner of how if most of them wasn't downright scary and deeply ignorant.
There is way too much stereotype,amoralism,misanthopy,and mostly neolibertarian media agenda to make for a decent conversation,not that some of leftist views expressed (few expeptions)
aren't naive at best.
So i will express my thoughts in the same manner and level of dialogue.
Since some of you are flattering yourselves on your comprehension of politics and based logic,and since we are speaking about Greece
i hope you realize that Tsipras is doing exactly what Merkel is doing at this point (and both have been doing for the past weeks).
Playing a "chess" game where they both have to sacrifice pawns (as a collateral damage or simply to get rid of inner circle opposition) ,while convincing their useful idiots
(people,politicians and elites alike) that there is an urgency in one hand but no serious collateral damage on the other if things go sour.
Well fear not.Greece will propably sign a 3rd memorandum as pretty much planned since february, and unless things go sour Eurozone will keep existing,but just for a bit,because
its coming to an end and sooner than he have expected.
And to be honest i dont really care despite the implications.
There are things in life we can do and things we cant but being an idiot is a cruel way to live -in prosperity or not-

Thats how it goes.
This month (after june 15th) at p5 everything points out to a WME,but last month i had a huge BME.
Some people already report possible bme's for june,while others have gone through these 2 weeks without a sale.
SS is somewhat steady week after week but very slow as opposed to the previous 2-3 months.
Summer (until the end of August) had been awful for me last year i expect this year to be almost the same.
Waiting dissolve's June report this will be interesting.
I sort of agree but don't see a lot written by those at P5 having a good or even average month. Usually you see an averaging of these comments but not this time. SS has remained strong. P5 was strong and then I experienced a precipitous drop in sales. Drop may not even properly describe what I'm seeing. More like vanish or disappearing all together.
Who said about averaging?Apparently as days go by the scales turn towards those who have extremely bad weeks,including me, and it seems the majority there experience a dreadfull month. March and April was like that as well but not to this extend,again from what people have reported. Summer period as far as i remember is said to be awful for most people. But perhaps you are right,they way i wrote my post could have insinuated that there are those who do good while others not too good but nowhere did i imply that there is an average. There is a major drought all around that is pretty much clear.

He tried to control himself for a bit as "gcrook" but couldn't help himself. A few minutes after being banned today, for at least the second time, he popped up again with a username he registered a while back.

Nonetheless,p5 does discounts from time to time.I dont know if they work but regardless we always get 50% commission discounted or not.
I have my issues with them and i express them in public but as far as i know noone does what they do as far as commissions are concerned.
And about the other thing you said earlier that you dont support p5 due to the absense of the extended licences,well let me put it this way about ss.
A rape is a rape regardless of someone passing a bottle of lube and giving a hug every now and then (pardon me for being so colorful)
Banned again and back within minutes with a new name and a rape reference. Charming.

All I am saying, with P5 current no strategy to increase sales and attract buyers, 50% is not going to help much to overtake horrible SS.
I dont know about you but this 50% in revenue plus the freedom to price my clips surpasses the montly revenue of SS by a lot even on a lucky month there with 4K and el's. By my stats in order for ss to surpass p5 it needs to make 2.5X times the sales because 30% there is never 30%. And that wont happen even if ss starts selling editorials just like p5 does and stops rejecting clips for stupid reasons for example like every possible graffiti in walls (my latest example of utter ss stupidity)

This is the battle for buyers that SS will most likely win.
Sadly, P5 was a great idea but didn't react fast/smart enough to shake SS more and grab some big fishes.
There is NO logic to price $500 clips anywhere when they can be found for $199 on SS.
AND P5 does not have extended licenses!
Why they like to keep that amateurish attitude, I will never get!

I truly believe that 299$ for one clip was way too high compared to 80$ full hd, I think that this new pricing will bring more sales to everyone and more buyers and will open the real 4k market, I am sure I sound not popular to most of you but I am realistic for microstock hopefully 4K will start to sell

Some people are having luck and making money selling still photos, not sure how many but I checked the artists resources page today at Pond5 and almost fell off my chair at the prices three photos just sold for, in the $500 range, thought it was video and I clicked and they were still photos.......nice to see!

I have to say I am disappointed and discouraged by this price change. This will devalue the whole 4K market. I know that Shutterstock price is often used as a guide in setting prices by other agencies and artists, myself included. And it just became 1.5 times lower overnight.
The 4K market value as you perceive it is a bubble slowly bursting like all bubbles.The electronics companies now offer 4k acquisition and projection many timer cheaper that in was 1 or 2 years ago and they will continue to do so (ask the gh4 owners for example and the new blackmagic 4k camera owners after July). Im not trying to justify shutterstock in any way after all they have completely destroyed hd pricing (this month's hd and below commissions btw are completely laughable for me),now it is time for that to happen to 4k as soon as it becomes mainstream. But they could at least have taken out the web sizes.It is only logical that when you send an email saying how mainstream 4K is becoming that you take out the smaller resolutions, (maybe not SD) And good luck waiting to "market" our stuff.The only marketing they do is selling cheap and massively and boasting about it,some people should eventually realize that this is what marketing is all about,unless they fantacize that ss goes out to companies and says "hey we have a dude here that is creating awesome 4k clips of flowers,check out his stuff" . I mean really...

I actually expected this sooner wonder why it took them so long to justify. This will only mean that other sites like dissolve with eventually need to lower 4K prices and as for pond5 the future of 4K there will depend on what the contributors will eventually do, which goes without saying that few people will justify 4K price above 199. Of course no mention of royalties change to video or the discarding of web and/or sd resolutions. I quote from the email i just received. Since we launched 4K at the beginning of 2014, we've been incredibly inspired by the quality and diversity of the videos our contributors have submitted to the collection. We know adjusting to the workflow and production demands associated with submitting 4K has involved a bit of a learning curve, and we are thrilled to see your wonderful work.
While the vast majority of our footage licensing business is in HD, we anticipate the 4K format will continue to gain traction and are continuing to make investments to market your content.
With that in mind, we are changing the price of a single 4K clip from $299 to $199. In addition, we will be launching 4K packs for the first time, which will allow customers who need multiple 4K clips to purchase in larger quantities in one transaction.
The pricing for our 4K packs is as follows:
5 Clips $929
10 Clips $1,759
25 Clips $4,259
Our thinking is this new price point and package options will open the door to licensing your work to a wider group of customers, and we're excited to see the results in the weeks and months ahead.
