The strangest thing I see on P5 is that statistics with views are completely disconnected from sales: I see in last months really good sales, also with high prices, and poor months with maybe 10% of usual sales.
But the statistics seems very steady.
I know that fluctuation is normal, and also I'm not talking about large number of sales, I have about twenty clips sales for months. BTW, the fluctuation is great and it has no link at all with view statistics.

overly simplistic -- if you're running a business and your concerns are "not all about money and percentage", you're not going to be in business very long!  as a business i choose WS because they save my business time & energy & my net income is higher

I understand your answer and my opinion was of course only my point of view :)

What I would like to underline is that in general, in any business, in middle and long term, you have to be ready to change your mind, to react to external move, to adapt your offer to the market. Giving all to an external agent is big limitation on any future change.
Of course is up to you to define your business but I can't remember a good business story with someone that gives all the business choices to someone else.
I wasn't talking simply about money and percentage, not at all!

I think that answer to "wirestock yes or no" is really simple.
If you approach microstock photography as a business the answer is absolutely NO
If you think this is a little passive income from your random photography production, in this case YES it could be good service and it's OK to pay for it.
Very simple, no need to calculate too much, it's not all about money and percentage, only about how do you treat your job

I never nominated any files... how does it works?
Like if I nominate 100 files will they take all 100 or will they choose from the nomination?

There is a big difference and I think most (maybe all) contributors have similar images in their own portfolio.

Maybe Matt could clarify this point (without going to explain the single case);
would be useful to know if Adobe is going to restrict contents upload rules.

As for Justanotherphotographer last year was my BYE, I'm not so "old", I'm in from 2014
In the meantime I closed my account with DP and others low earnings agencies, some others are still alive only with old works.

I have my answer (my opinion of course) on this point:
Quantity is no more a problem, there are trillions of images, free and low cost, on any human activity you can imagine. And I feel we are near the breaking point.
The only difference are new ideas and quality.

Steve, I think that selling with freepik, as other low sellers, is not devaluating single images; but is devaluating your ideas!
You have a lot of ideas and you should not give away your ideas for 0,1 cent.

Clients do'nt need more millions of same images, they search for new and quality ones.
There is no more sense at all to say "I have 300/600/900 hundred millions of images". It's no more question of quantity, market is changed.
The buyers goes where are the good ones, so it's our responsability to drive clients to agency we like

This is technology.
You should always have an idea of what you want or you need, before to use any technolgy to create an image.

The impact will be the same as the digital camera for everyone. Big impact. But it will never replace the idea of what to shoot.

Also, I think very few clients have exact and clear idea of the images they need. They always need someone that can understand and translate the idea for them.

It's really impossible to judge effects in few weeks. For me p5 in this month was BME, also with high price sales.
At the contrary, for SS was very bad month
It will take almost one year to really see effects.

In general the earnings are going down for sure, this is a fact, but it's not useful in my opinion to judge results in very short time.

I have to say that this last year was absolutely good at Adobe, sales are growing up and the free section had without doubt no negative impact in my sales.
I can understand someone is angry for the new video subscription offer, I see it in the other thread, but... I think that's the market. And also I can't see any other agency so clear and respectful while talking to contributors.

I really don't understand, where is the problem finding a witness? Taking good photos for micro is for sure much more difficult than find a witness :)

Hi all,
I've searched around forum but I haven't found any answer to this question: how agencies are managing (or will manage) release for virtual people created with animation software?
There are actually some examples of incredible, photorealistic, stills and animations with virtual people, they are so real that is difficult to distinguish them from real people. And I'm quite sure that an agency will ask for model release for these creations.

This is not related to Adobe stock only but I post it here because here Mat from Adobe could have an answer.

Short version of the general idea. There should be an easier way, for artists, to find and edit individual images.

I'm repeating an long standing request. Better ability to  look at sales, income, by image, lifetime. The whole only 13 months at a time, is kind of strange?

Something useful and nice, but not as important. Keyword help, what buyers are searching for, or how our images were found, would be over the top. Not an email saying, we need this, but a database saying, here's what actually is popular. Most of the what's popular are nothing but someone saying what they think is needed or predicting some trend. I'd like to see what is, not what might be. I don't think chasing the sales and history are the best ways to make decisions for new ideas and markets, but seeing overall sales, types, words, in general can be useful or at least give some advise on a possible creative direction?

Also, please, is there anyone out there who could explain why on the earth agencies usually do not give contributors these important notices?
It would be simply great and useful for contributors to know which keywords clients are used to search, which filters they are using more to restrict selection of the right images or clips to buy, what combination of keywords are more used, and so on...

I cannot understand why agencies (not only Adobe of corse, but ALL agencies) retain these data as a secret.
Why? What are they afraid of? Someone has an answer?

After Adobe opened the illustrative editorial images submission to contributors, I sold many editorial images.
Actually I sell 50% editorial and 50% not, so in my experience I think you're wrong

Well, there is something really strange for me...
It's the third month in a row in which I see the announce payout mail saying a little bit reduced amount different from the real total that I can see confirmed in my contributor area.
Few dollars less, but I have checked my returned/refunded sales and I only see few refunds in september 2020.

I wrote a mail last month asking for explanation, but never had an answer.

No problem with renewed tax form, no evidence of refunds... well. It's really strange.

For me it's a little amount difference, few dollars, but looking at how difficult is to gain with so many 0,10 sales, it would be worth to have a reason for this.

Yes I know that the first keywords are the most important, and also that I should keep in mind what could the buyer search.
My question was a little bit more specific... maybe not so relevant who knows  :)

For example:
I have a series of images of cars, luxury sport supercars, illustrative editorial. Images style is the same, cars are different
I could use the same ten keywords for all:

car, supercar, luxury, rich, shiny, powerful, touring, exclusive... and so on
But I could also put more specific
Ferrari / Porsche / european / american...

My question is not which are the important keywords, but where should I put the specific ones versus the general ones
Better to put Ferrari at first place, because there are of course less images of Ferrari than cars?
Or better to have car, and then Ferrari, to reach a larger audience?

I know it's maybe a silly question  :) but looking at the results, I really cannot understand which strategy is the best

I'm still wondering which is the best strategy for keywording images in Adobe stock: the first seven, maybe ten words, have best impact to search engine, and this is confirmed by Mat.

But the problem is: what is better to put in the first keywords?
The most generic, or the most specific ones?
Or may be a mix?

I ask this because I see no clear signal.
For example: I have a series of really different images produced in the same set and the risk is to put always the same keywords to the top for better description, but it should be a nice job to create something different for each one.
How to do this?
Generic ones at the top, and specific ones after 5 or 6 position?
Or maybe the specific ones on top, and the the generic ones?

I had different results so I can't understand which is the better strategy.
If you would like to share yours it could be really helpful.

But I have to say november was my best month ever.

My opinion is based on my experience, of course! What else? :)
As I said, I received a lot of invitation for "random" places... so I didn't give them good credit.

You ask about this invitation and I told my experience, based on what I directly saw.
Which kind of answers do you expect from your post? If it's good for you, it's ok.

Asking something like "exclusivity or not" is quite strange, you can read the specific agreement for every single assignment (of course is always exclusive, by the way....). The same is for how much they pay (really poor in my my opinion), you can red by yourself in their agreement.

Apart of this, the only thing I can add is that IN MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE they are simply looking random around the world someone available for their need, and this (always in my opinion) is not really serious.
