General Stock Discussion / Re: Has anyone seen this? Google is curating their own stock photo library« on: August 11, 2012, 07:10 »
So, our, microstockers, have to be humans and clever for the future. If we want to be strong, maybe it's time to build a real community before becoming real "voluntary slaves". Microstock market is' nt dead at all, crisis is here, but customers can buy pictures for a good price, the proof is the ridiculous percentage we are earning from our selling. If the agencies was paying us only 30%, we could learn almost the double, and many more microstockers could make a living instead of feeding only powerful agencies.
If we don't find the power to say "no" to greeding agencies, I'm afraid we'll have to find another professional activity in some years. ![]() 205

Yep, commission percentage is too low comparing to the great Pond5, if you want to start something different, maybe even clever, try to find a way to respect contributors. Fotolia and Istock have already proved their incapacities to work fairly with photographers and videographers, what are you trying to do actually, what do you want?

PhotoDune / Re: Model Releases on PhotoDune - what to do?« on: August 08, 2012, 12:03 »
I've stopped to upload to photodune for this reason, we asked them many times to do something with model release upload and attachment. Also, the selling have really decreased, 70% for me...so i give up.

Bigstock.com / Re: BigStock now has the same server problem as SS« on: April 12, 2012, 02:55 »
I found something on SS:
If i search one of my last images by entering keywords: - i found it in the "new" -i don't found it in all the others ways (relevant, popular etc.) it returns 284 results in new and 283 for the others, and it's my last picture who disappear!!! So i guess the pictures are not totally in the database, there is something missing there. Try also to look at the catalog manager and look by newer first!!! Mine is showing photos approved 15 days ago, but not the last ones!! 210

Envato / Re: Model Release form how?« on: March 05, 2012, 03:36 »
Please Photodune, can you change your model release uploading and attaching system?? I uploaded 10 images and it's now impossible to attach release, when editing picture it ask me to change the main file, that is a so middle-aged way to use technology.
Why don't you simply permit to attach one or more releases in a single click? ![]() ![]() 214

General Stock Discussion / Re: Are there any traveling micorstock photographers?« on: January 06, 2012, 21:14 »
Well,
I'm French and i'm traveling often in SE Asia, you can travel one month in asia for 1000€, in France you must count about three times more. Actually i'm in Thailand, for microstock, some area worth the effort if you have weather chance. I'm meeting some local people and ask them to be model too, but these pictures are not really selling very well, many people like to travel in SE Asia, but they don't care of Asian People in pictures... You have to spend more money for luxurious hotel with pool if you want good sellers pictures, but that's not my way of travel and i hate luxurious places, i prefer local traditional ones. ![]() I think the best is to shoot what you like, i'm not earning many money from my travel pictures, but some are selling as extended licenses. I'm sending also many pictures to Alamy but i don't understand why i'm selling almost only Rf pictures!! 217
Envato / Re: Photodune, Thoughts?« on: December 08, 2011, 07:54 »
The 5 pictures have uploaded with pickworkflow need a model release, i've not found the possibility to add it, i've found on the ftp a folder named release, put my release inside, but now i can not attach the release with my pictures, why is it so complicated?? Don't you planing to put an option to upload the release when editing pictures?? What can i do now?? I have to upload the pictures again?? So it's not possible to use pickworkflow for released pictures??

As i'm actually travelling to shoot microstock pictures, I managed to upload some new pictures from internet wifi by using Picworkflow, for all other sites it's working as usual but i really don't understand where to find my uploaded pictures on Photodune!!! I look every pages and don't find my 5 pictures, don't tell me it's gonna be the same painful story again!!!
So where can i find the uploaded pictures??? 220

Yes Jsnover, i'm totally agree with you, i just try to test this site, i don't want to eat SS who's doing so well actually, as i go traveling for some months, i was thinking to upload around 1000 pictures to photodune, if the selling wasn't there, i'm planning to delete everything quickly.
The problem is here: it's impossible to be accepted in this site without passing thru archaic mechanism with zip file (!!!!!) and the answer of the support is simply robotic! I just can see they doing well on microstockgroup forum for their advertising, including easy upload for some famous contributors who can claim "it's a wonderful new site with so many sell", but in reality, it's seems it's an old process site with complicated upload. I've sent to their support my SS portfolio link, but they always want me to pass again their "test" and seems themselves caught in the stupid archaic process of the servers. So i've just uploaded again my 10 files in a zip with a note attached saying "second and last try", if they manage to respond before tomorrow, i maybe can upload some pictures, but the classical uploading seems also very painful... 222
Envato / Re: Photodune, Thoughts?« on: November 09, 2011, 07:25 »
I'm uploading for the second time (and last) my first 10 pictures, if you could take a look today it's ok, i can send some pictures before my departure. If not, i give up too, it's really a slave pain to upload there and be accepted, the 25% low commission on very low prices and ridiculous EL prices don't help to be really enthusiast.

Good!! I have finally an answer from photodune:
Hey Smithore, Thanks for your email. Please take the PhotoDune quiz again: http://photodune.net/upload/take_quiz Regards, Thinesh P I already done your stupid test, i'm selling microstock for 5 years now. I've sent you 10 pictures in a zip, wait 5 days and now you send me this message!!!!!? ![]() I think these guys are simply the worsts i have never seen in microstock market, if you were near my place, i will send you my stupid president Sarkozy for the most boring diner of your life. So bye bye photodune, and congrats for your inability to communicate. 225
