No, although in the past support would sometimes change genuine mistakes for you. Can you modify keywords of images that are already online?

I think that ranking is also playing a bigger part than before. Most of the people doing the complaining are bronze and under. Or maybe it is just that most people are bronze and under.

I wish I new the answer. I had a similar problem recently with an image that had the same person in it twice so they kept asking for two releases. At the forth attempt on one of the sites I put a message in the description area in capital letters with lines of asterisks each end of the the message so that it would catch their eye and it finally worked. A lot of reviewers don't bother reading the description so you need to make it eye catching.

Yup, I agree with every point made. Is that a first for you Miz, somebody agreeing with everything you say DT in my opinion is THE top notch Microstock site I subscribe to when it comes to all round performance, management, and joy to work for.
It does not hold the title for my most sold image, or the image that has made the most money, or even downloaded. It's their fairness and attention to details I admire in that site.
If I were to advise a new photographer on what site to upload to first, and to use as a standard to compare all other sites it would have to be DT hands down!

On IS if you see a lightbox that suits an image of yours you can sitemail the owner of the lightbox and ask if they would mind including your image. I also wanted to be part of a lightbox and trying to figure out how to do it... but I think you can only get into a lightbox if the moderator of the lightbox adds you or you are the starter of the lightbox. Not sure though...
Thanks for the help!

I hope that they decide to scrap the ratings as I will then seriously consider uploading my portfolio there.

I think he's talking about microstock photography. We either have to live with the way it is or get out.

I went higher than one dollar per image for the first time ever thanks to the change in the search. It made enough money this month to pay my house mortgage.

No, on IS it's definately from date of upload which is how the exclusives get their main advantage in the best match You probably should care that it takes longer. From what I understand, supposedly, the best match gives preference to images that have higher downloads in a given timeframe. That timeframe starts at the point of upload. If that's all true, that means exclusives automatically get a headstart in the search and potential for downloads, which leads to higher positioning in the best match.
I can remember Steve from StockXpert saying that this timeframe starts at the point of approval on StockXpert, not the point of upload. So I assume it's works on IS the same way! Not sure though.

The recent changes in the search engine at FT have put my earnings up to 2nd place beating IS. I sold over 300 more images in May than in April which was my previous bme for downloads.

That's a great bit of advice. I made the mistake once, it won't happen again. 1. Not waste any more time with newbie microstock sites. 2. Not waste any more time with newbie microstock sites. 3. Not waste any more time with newbie microstock sites. 4. Not waste any more time with newbie microstock sites. etc.

Some people have no idea how much money is getting made by what they consider hobbyists and housewives with cameras using family and friends as models and very little outlay anywhere. Why would anybody pay a model if they have extremely well selling family and friends. Different markets require different types of images.

Thanks for the feedback. I wonder how long it will be before they get proper stats on this. I have had one, on Sunday - easier to notice as it's so slow over the weekend. The money didn't appear until after midnight last night (i.e. one day longer than I thought, but according to the IS forums they're working out glitches and you won't always get the cash at midnight on the day of the sale).
I had a medium sell for 95 cents commission - I looked at a recent range of medium per credit sales and they were from 88 cents to $1.50. I'm content with those prices as long as the volume picks up a bit.

Has anybody had a subscription sale on IS yet? I've looked at my best sellers but haven't found any.

DT brought in the tiered system of payment and gave a payrise at about the same time as they brought in the subs so my earnings per image/month went from 1.04$ month for the month before subs were introduced to 1.24$ last month. If FT had been clever enough to do something like this they wouldn't have so many people yelling and screaming at them.

The Beatles one is titled 'Beatles em Liverpool' which I assume means 'Beatles in Liverpool' but Abbey Road is actually in London.

Yes, fotolia have raised their sub. sale commissions by a few cents with promises of more to come after lots of complaints in theirs and other forums
Does anyone have an example of a microstock site reacting in a positive manner to a rant or complaint in a forum?

The nearer to summer you get the less sales you get at the weekends as the designers make the most of the good weather and take weekends off.

There is no way that I will pull my portfolio until I see what affect it has on sales here and elsewhere. I have made over 700$ this month with FT so I would have to lose a lot of money elsewhere before I considered this action. I think that a lot of the really big players that make a lot more than I do won't pull their portfolios whatever they are threatening as the only ones to lose would be themselves. I can't imagine a scenario where my overall earnings would go down by over 700$ because of the FT subs and that is even more true for the big players. Saying that I think that they should reconsider the 23c and have something more inline with SS as 23c is a step back for microstock. [Yes. It's time to show that we are ready to work for nothing. I'll remove my portfolio as well. Solidarity is the keyword. If important group of contributors do that Fotolia will be in trouble
