How do you find who the buyer is on 123rf?  I only know how to do that on fotolia

I've had same buyer get different sizes many times. This morning, I had someone buy 3 copies of the same image, same size at 123.

I think that the catagories are a waste of time and I doubt very much that many people use them in their searches.  They are too general to be of any use and you can get much better results using keywords

I might be wrong but it looks to me like one person selling his own images there.

edited to say
Looks like you're right, that hamster belongs to Eric Issele.
I just tried downloading one and all you get is a very small res. image like the ones they give away on IS and other sites as a comp.

Nice uncluttered looking web page.  I would put more variety in the photos that you show rather than 3 images of the stones and flowers.

« on: March 05, 2008, 23:20 »
I actually have problems while I upload to 123RF. It show that the upload is successful but the thumbnails don't show "red x".
Same thing happened to me today.  :(

I'm surprised that people are having so much trouble getting acceptances at FT.  They accept almost everything I send to them probably about 99% whereas IS and DT are about 80%.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Uploading Strategies
« on: March 01, 2008, 10:34 »
I agree with what Nazdravie says about uploading to SS.  Also it's been proved that a quick sale on IS helps an image to take off so being approved on a Monday gives an image a lot more possibilities of a quick sale than if it's approved on a Friday.  Unfortunately it's a lot more difficult to get the timing right at IS than it is at SS

Great image but you need to take a look at the keywords although I see it's already been wikkied,  'shot glass' and 'mental  illness' ???

They take their place in the queue as soon as you upload the images so after you finished them off they had already got to the head of the queue so they were inspected straight away.

The upload date is the date you upload the image so you should always finish it off before it hits its upload slot so that it has a chance of getting downloaded quickly and getting a better dls/month

I've got most of mine set at 100$ with my newer images at 150$.  I have sold 3 this month at 100$ and one at 150$ so as far as I'm concerned it's well worth putting them at the higher prices. I don't remember ever selling 4 ELs in one month before even when I had them set at 10$.

Hi,

Does anybody have some information which price point sell's bests. I have set my images between 10-100 and only 10credits sales up to date... Its too little and I have asked admins to change el price each of my images to 75 credits, but I'm wondering is it too much for sites like fotolia?

Thanks for your input Susan and sorry about your best seller, I've had that happen a couple of times.
I think that they must have changed the best match again in the last couple of days.  Yesterday was my best day for ages and in the last couple of days I have sold 7 images that have never sold before and several that had only had 1 or 2  sales previously.

Contact support and they'll change them for you.  I've changed mine 3 times now and it was always done within a few hours.

That's interesting.  I'm sorry your dls have gone down so much but I find it reassuring that it isn't just us non exclusives as we suspected. The drop has been so dramatic lately that the obvious reason seemed to be that best match weighting. Thanks for letting us know that and it would be interesting if any other exclusive would let us know how they are doing.
Recently the best match search seems to be giving a huge advantage to exclusives.
I'm exclusive and my downloads have gone down drastically this month (down 60% over last month)!

It always amazes me how much people are willing to extrapolate their own experience to the general population. You can't draw general conclusions from anecdotal evidence (well I guess you can but you shouldn't). I'm not saying that exclusivity doesn't play a part in the best match, because it probably does, but I very much doubt has a significant effect.

Recently the best match search seems to be giving a huge advantage to exclusives.  My sales have dropped by 50% there over the last few months. It's the only site where I won't be getting a best match this month.  I've gone from selling over 40 a day average to just over 20 at IS. This time last year IS was by far my best earner wheras this month I am making double on SS and 1 of the other sites have overtaken IS putting it in 3rd place.

It's definitely strange there.  They say that only the first 7 keywords count but I have found some of mine using keywords that aren't in the first 7 and have searched in vain for others using the first 7 keywords.

I definitely prefer your positive approach to it instead of crying over spilt milk although Hatman is quite right :)

You are wrong.... I live one day at a time. I piss on the past because it is of no use to me now. I can't change it.
What I can do is live for today, and plan for the future. It's not viewed as a loss to me. The glass is half full if
you get my drift.

Be well hatman12

Sorry didn't bother reading down far enough.
That's one thread that hasn't got the exculusives shouting and cheering about how wonderful IS is.

I don't know if you all missed this post or not but the whole thing was an error on the part of IS.  The buyers got the images cheaper but the photographers get the commission at the higher price so everyone should be happy .

I don't know if you missed this, but iStock just announced they are having a sale.
