I think that all of them will accept stunning shots if the quality is good enough. What micro agencies might accept a flower pic? I'm not a huge flower shooter, but do have some stunning shots, especially good is a rare form of a Calla Lilly (red rimmed yellow flower), and Callas seem to be insanely popular compared to other flowers. I do have some really good, fairly rare Orchids too.

It was an error

I don't know if you all missed this post or not but the whole thing was an error on the part of IS. The buyers got the images cheaper but the photographers get the commission at the higher price so everyone should be happy .

On some sites you could have an image rejected if your put the wrong catagories up. I put holiday for some of my vacation shots for SS as thats the word we use in england and had them rejected.

Maybe lisafx will chip in here. I've just read a thread of hers elsewhere that said that when she doubled her prices the dls didn't decrease and she's making about double now.

I only sell 3 or 4 a month but that is more than last year when I had them set at 10$. I Think it was only about 6 months ago that I realized that I could put them up. But have you noticed that many of the big time sellers have thier EL prices set VERY VERY low? I'm not sure why....I would think that setting the EL price at $25 is way too low, but maybe they sell 10 time more that way.....any thoughts? I have mine at $100, and get a couple EL's every month....

I'll definitely double my prices when I get to emerald. With ELs it doesn't seem to make any difference if you put the prices up. Last week as a test I started putting some of my latest uploads at 150$ for an EL and this morning I sold one so will put all the rest up to 150$ now. If people are willing to pay so much difference for an EL I'm sure that they won't quibble about a dollar or 2 for a normal DL.

Congratulations, very well deserved. Shame there's no pay rise involved.

You can become exclusive to IS once you have 500 downloads whatever your acceptance rate but if you have between 250 and 500 downloads you need to have at least a 50% acceptance rate.

They originally wanted a 12 month lock in but because a lot of the contributors complained they put it at 6 months. I've not heard any thing about extending it since then.

I agree with Lisa here. I don't remember ever having an image refused where I thought that they were unjust. Sometimes a little bit too picky but they have always been right in my experience.

Have you tried posting on the SS forums? Maybe somebody else that uploads fractals can help you. The words all seem fine to me. Good luck

I think he's only doing exactly what he was told to do over there. In answer to your question both groups are useful but this one is by far the best with a really nice helpful group of people. Leaf who runs the group isn't very heavy handed but is there to step in if things get to out of order.

Without seeing the first image it's difficult for us to comment. I would imagine that the problem is with the word valentines and day. Is it obvious in the image that they are hearts? The others all look good to me for a fractal image.

I've changed mine a couple of times now by using the 'contact support' link and each time it was done in a couple of hours. Don't be afraid of putting them at the maximum allowed. I always have and have carried on selling the same amount as when I had them at 10$. speaking of fotolia i might want to remind those who haven't done it that fotolia very happily changes all your extended licenses to a given price.
I had lots of extended licenses listed at 10 credits from before when that was the max?? or i am not sure why.
Anyhow i asked them to change all my files to the max amount of 100 credits - and they did it within a day.
In the last week I have had 2 extended license sales. Makes me glad I changed the pricing when i did.
Do you send them an email to do this ?
Mark

If/when the dollar does go back up it may be reversed so that people getting paid in $ earn more. It's nice to see that on fotolia people out of the USA are actually benefiting where as on most sites we are losing out big time because of the bad exchange rate.

You were probably thinking of Istock, the 7-10 SS ones go straight into your portfolio once you pass the approval. Just do the search by newest first and as I said earlier pick portfolios of new members to get a better idea of the current standards.

Standards are constantly changing so even looking at the oldest in someones portfolio you can't be sure that they would be accepted today. Go to the SS forums and look at the oldest images by people who have recently joined. The date they joined is written next to the post.

That's not true. We get exactly the same wherever the image is sold. We get paid 1$ per credit the same as you do. Possibly fotolia get paid more, I don't know but we definitely don't see any of it.

Wow, leaf, your IS portfolio is vastly underperforming - you should strongly consider reloading your best images now that you've got the keywording all figured out.
Last year I was doing great on IS but the last 6 months have been terrible. I'm doing a 1/2 to a 1/3 of what I was doing this time last year when I was even toying with going exclusive when I reached diamond. Maybe leaf is seeing the same.

I've got 2 that are close to 400$ at ss and one of them is at over 600$ at IS and the other about 150$. The total of one of them at the 2 sites is 1035$ does that count?

Oh ok I thought you meant altogether from your stock sites. Which RM site would you reccomend to start with? I have being toying with the idea for a while now of every shoot I do for RF doing a few extras just for RM.
