20 euros of withdrawal fee? Geez, I haven't seen that. The inactivity fee is not an issue as long as you do some transaction within every six months.

I can not withdraw from PP do my UK bank account because I don't live in UK. Skrill allows me to do that.

I am there, I have maybe 50 designs. Occasional sales, they pay us soon after without any minimum limit. Setting up the templates is a bit time-consuming and the file needs to be CMYK instead of RGB.

A decent card doesn't cost US$20 here, unfortunately. Had I managed formatting the card, I wouldn't use it as a main card, but as an option should the other two cards run full.

And BTW, I tried to format the card, but the camera didn't accept it.

Hi there, I ended up using a free software a friend suggested, named ZAR. But now my PC is out of service. First clue not turning on once during the week, then on Friday it had a sort of "explosion" sound while turning on. Oh, well, it seems electronics are working against me lately. Anyway, with the software I was able to restore most of Thursday's shots and perhaps 50-60% of Friday's (the day the mem card failed). There were some curious "recovered" files with a mix of two shots from different days. Perhaps the options suggested here woud offer a better result, maybe even the full recovery, and I might have tried them if the images were really unique, but that wasn't the case, although I regret having lost some photos of the cloudy weather. With that in mind, the free software did a reasonably good job. It is curious that date/hour are preserved in the files' EXIF data, but the recovered files show the date/hour of the time they were recovered. I wonder if it is the same in these paid softwares? This was not a big issue, the files for each day were still in the original order, just wrong date/hour.

Hello,
I was shooting outdoors this afternoon, got a CF card memory error message after several shots. Turned the camero off and on, removed and reinserted the card. No luck. The free space counter started showing 9,999, which isn't the number of photos even if the card was empty.
Back home, plugged my memory card reader. The file list only showed yesterday photos, which I had not yet downloaded. Nothing from previous days, nothing from today.
Then I selected some 15 images and tried to copy them, only one came through, got a I/O error message. After many other attempts with fewer files and even a single file, no luck. I had to disconnect and reconnect the reader after each failled attempt, of course.
Tried my old Jobo Giga One, same errors.
Now, I guess I need a software recovery software. I searched MSG and found just two threads, both from 2011. I wonder if anyone has recent - and successful - experiences.
My PC runs Win XP.
Thanks!

Very low for me too. A postcard or a magnet here and there, eventually a business card.

Rio de Janeiro. Wintertime. After a series of sunny days, reaching temps above 30C (86F) yesterday, it's cloudy today, it rained early, and temp is 22C (72F). And the photo shows wintertime in Rio.

I am a photographer, am I not? And altough I am mostly an amateur, I do get paid for my photos. Now, gladly that is not my main income. Life would be very tough.

I was actually thinking of a friend of mine who is a photojournalist and has some projects in mind, but these are maybe too locally-priented for a site like this. But crowdfunfing anyway could be an idea for his projects.

Since money is not donated in Kiva (unless you choose to), the only scam I can see is the NGOs getting money, lending with interests and paying us back without interest. I have a very low record of delinquency (I've been in Kiva for 5 years and 300+ loans), so it's not that people take the money and disappear.
Interesting concept about Emphas.is though. I didn't know there was a crowdfunding site just for photography.

Now it's cool to think that as people around the world are buying my images, I'm giving a little bit back to people in need around the world. Good karma! Loved this!

yes it does apply to all agencies, only from USA sales not overall
Thank you!!!
I was asking becos Zazzle tax me 30% from overgross sales, and not US sales which is very strange. I am going to ask Zazzle staff what going on?
Zazzle is wrong, but they won't admit it. I have emailed them twice about it, they insist the tax apply to all sales, regardless of the clear USA law saying royalty on IP applies only to artwork inside USA.

Do you use quotation marks for keyword phrases on Alamy? When they have an unrelated meaning separately, yes. Like you said, "Santa Barbara". But not, for instance, for Copacabana Beach, as either word is correctly associated with the subject. However, they don't isolate the phrases. Santa will still be picked, in your example. Perhaps it makes a difference in relevance.

I do better at Zazzle than at any microstock site, even after over a year without creating new material.

From Skrill: Given the registered transaction record on your Skrill account , it is considered as of commercial use and in this respect subject to our standard business rates available here: http://www.moneybookers.com/ads/merchant-account/fees/. (...) In this respect we confirm that the freelancers (web designers, developers, translators, photographers, etc) are also considered commercial users. So, I was the unlucky photographer withdrawing US$600 a year through them who got picked by their commercial use criteria.

Is there a way to globally change my royalty on business cards? I want them all to be 14.9% but too lazy to go into them one by one.
edit: oops, never mind, found it.
I think you can select them and then edit royalty only.

I have not receive any announcement from their side, thanks for posting. If there was a change in volume bonus, I wished it was putting all the currencies together. It would make sense since there aren't really separate sites for each of them. I would understand if they had different offices with separate account management. Oh well, it doesn't have any importance anymore.
