GLStock / Re: GL News

I've always liked GL and for me the only thing lacking was sales.   Hopefully with the right marketing you will be able to remedy that.  Thank you for the grandfathering in.

I was paid on the 15th this month.  The first time for several months that I've been paid on time.

Just as I suspected. So all this carrying a gun for self defence is a load of rubbish.

If everybody had guns on them in public and one person shoots someone then everybody pulls guns how do you know who are the "goodies" and who are the baddies. I can understand the argument about having a gun in your home for defence a lot more than the public situation.
I was thinking the same.  I also wonder how many of these mass shootings have actually been stopped by  an armed member of the public. Maybe they have but I've not heard of it, it's usually the police that take down the gunman.

that email was obviously a mistake,  especially obvious once we saw here how many (everyone?) got the email, so there was no reason not to wait a day or 2 to let things settle.  no reason to search & edit images that likely needed no changes (eg all editorial images before the changes in policy)
Exactly, it was so obviously sent out to so many people in error that I couldn't understand the panic.  When these things happen it's best just to sit back a couple of days and see what happens before wasting your time.

In all the years with them I never got paid later than the 15th until 3 months ago where they have been late every month since.

Only bother trying again if the image gets lots of downloads at other sites.

Look to the right of the page and upload to any of the Top and Middle Tiers.

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia Rank
« on: June 11, 2016, 10:15 »
I am member from 2013, but started uploading in dec 2015.

I get 700 per month and my rank is 38.000. Weekly top was 5.900.

I have video only
I always thought that the rank was to do with earnings not downloads. I earn about the same as you and rank much higher but only photos so it must be based on dl numbers.

Dreamstime.com / Re: DT has died for me
« on: June 11, 2016, 04:22 »
So whats hapenning with DT. I haven't had a single sale for over a month now. Not that I was making some serious money before, but I had regular sales. Mostly credits and also some subs. But now not a single sale from May 9th. This is just weird.
They changed the search so that the default search is Best Selling instead of Most Relevant.  Some people do better from it some people do worse. Mostly the older contributors are doing better than the newer ones as they have more proven images.

Results so far.

I'm hugely down on IS but I virtually stopped uploading there a couple of years ago.

« on: June 03, 2016, 07:59 »

the part i am not sure is that others say here, copying. i am not sure how copying can get anyone terminated. if so, many of those copycats of yuri,  would have been terminated a long time ago,
Has Yuri ever had an origianl idea' ;)
You are a little bit harsh with Yuri.
Putting 20 Profoto strobs in Porsches Cayenne trunks, than making a compo of a jet fighter and cloudy sky, it was Yuri's genuine idea.
I was saying it a bit tongue in cheek but 95 % of his images are good generic stock photos.   Nobody is going to copy the ones that you mentioned ;)

I would have been more suprised if they hadn't deleted your account after your post about them.  That doesn't mean that I don't sympathize with you about certain things.

Why it should take time??? It is microstock. Photos can be sold directly from the first second images are online. I dont get for what they need the time.
Because the way their search engine works new images don't do well.

Only five times? So your sales on DT are good.
Or your sales on Shutterstock are so bad?

This month I have already 400 times more sales on Shutterstock than on Dreamstime
I have just double earnings on SS as DT.    It's not like the old days but still ok.

Just looking at Dreamstime, of the last 20 images that I sold 7 were uploaded between 2006 and 2007.
