I'd like to see the end of every Microstock agency. I'd ditch Royalty Free licenses at the same time, if I could.

It's loading very, very slowly. Mid-morning here in UK and not one single sale yet. Suggests buyer end is sluggish too.

This is what happened to sales of my new images as of last week. Sudden drop to zero.

My graph looks just like this^

I have recently uploaded some of my very best work to SS only to see it plummet out of sight in the search. Very, very demoralising...

Thanks for posting this notification. I have a question: I have a limited 'Stock Performer' subscription as part of my membership of Stocksy. Is my ranking data measured against other Stocksy contributors - or whole of the market? Thanks.

On alamy, Carol Highsmith's photos are for sale and marked as © Everett Collection Inc / Alamy Stock Photo
They have 757K images but only a portion. I couldn't find the grass with the shuttlecock image shown in the peta pixel article - possibly they've taken it down? The Everett Collection is entertainment and "historical" images.

I hope she makes these folks take their images down as well. Why should they profiit from her gift?

Here's the Shuttlecock image: http://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-nelson-atkins-art-museum-kansas-city-missouri-36080528.html?pv=1&stamp=2&imageid=BD75E0FE-3207-464C-912D-609268E80614&p=74048&n=0&orientation=0&pn=1&searchtype=0&IsFromSearch=1&srch=foo%3dbar%26st%3d0%26pn%3d1%26ps%3d100%26sortby%3d2%26resultview%3dsortbyPopular%26npgs%3d6%26qt%3dart%2520badminton%2520kansas%2520city%26qt_raw%3dart%2520badminton%2520kansas%2520city%26lic%3d3%26mr%3d0%26pr%3d0%26ot%3d0%26creative%3d%26ag%3d0%26hc%3d0%26pc%3d%26blackwhite%3d%26cutout%3d%26tbar%3d1%26et%3d0x000000000000000000000%26vp%3d0%26loc%3d0%26imgt%3d0%26dtfr%3d%26dtto%3d%26size%3d0xFF%26archive%3d1%26groupid%3d%26pseudoid%3d%7b4AD0E185-1B4F-47D8-A96B-6D06E8C59957%7d%26a%3d%26cdid%3d%26cdsrt%3d%26name%3d%26qn%3d%26apalib%3d0%26apalic%3d%26lightbox%3d%26gname%3d%26gtype%3d%26xstx%3d0%26simid%3d%26saveQry%3d%26editorial%3d1%26nu%3d%26t%3d%26edoptin%3d%26customgeoip%3dGB%26cap%3d1%26cbstore%3d1%26vd%3d0

The Everett Collection seems to have mysteriously disappeared from Alamy...

Interesting story, and it'll be interesting to see how this pans out.

Wonder why the photo being the photo Getty was trying to charge her for has Alamy watermarks in that article?

Lots of folks upload public domain images at Alamy. Doesn't explain why the publishers of the article haven't bought a license to use it though....

same thing for me.

visiting istock forum was such an utterly infuriating experience, I never signed up for the new forum either.

two royalty emails from istock for me.

Why do they seem to f**k up absolutely everything they do..?

Yep, sales in July have absolutely collapsed on SS. Uploading high quality work doesn't have the effect it had - even in the recent past. Only those in emerging economies will be able to find this game worthwhile from here on in....

Same story here. Shutterstock $$$ falling away. ODS and SODS fewer and farther between.

I would like to see a stocksy-ish site created for us plebs.
I wouldn't join any elite club that would have me as a member
A very appropriate sentiment, given your username. ;)

When was Groucho Marx a character named Woody? http://quoteinvestigator.com/2011/04/18/groucho-resigns/

I think it's a play on the word 'member' and the username of the poster.

Has anyone noticed an increase in the number of EL's?  I haven't

Why would there be an increase in EL's? SS didn't reduce the price to clients to stimulate such an effect. Rather, they simply cut royalties for contributors.

I emailed in and received this clarification - Your royalty payment will process as normal through the transition. If you have a remaining royalty balance as of March 31st you will be paid out on April 15th, regardless of amount.

Ah, right. Thanks

"Royalties will continue to be paid through standard processes throughout the transition period"

I took that to mean that they would be cashing out royalties.

"Standard proccesses" suggests hitting payout threshold, as usual. Not a commitment to releasing accrued royalties.

I got one couple of days ago for $23.31. They are coming ever less frequently - with lower royalties. Shame on Shutterstock.

I'm quite happy for these folks to spam their images  It makes buying from Microstock companies unreliable for clients that require accuracy. Therefor they continue to buy from the specialist (often RM) agencies where prices are much higher.

What would make a buyer trust a RM agency more? In Alamy you keyword files after they are approved and there is plenty of space for spamming. Are the keywords checked afterwards?

PS Having multiple unrelated geographic locations for one image looks more cheating to me than spamming..

Alamy isn't a specialist agency.

Agencies don't care and it's too hard to go back and check 50 million images, video and drawings. They should have done this right from the start. Now we are all penalized for the problem, buyers can't trust the keywords or make a good search.

It makes us look stupid and casts a shadow on all of Micro work as cheap amateurs fighting for more peanuts by any way.

I use only real and good keywords. I resent people who intentionally or accidentally don't know San Fran from Vancouver. Buyers can't find good search for images because the spammers and idiots have plugged the system. This is the way of Micro more words, words that aren't main subject, words that people imagine, anything to get more views. Grasping for any chance to make a few more pennies.
