I reported above accounts to shutterstock, and made them closed. And I noticed that they are again creating new accounts and uploading same content that stolen from apps.

Is this premade footage that's already being sold by a private company?

If so, then why not just notify the company and save yourself the time and hassle of playing whack-a-mole?

General Stock Discussion / Re: This month's sales

I would also add that since 2020, agencies such as shuttersh!t have found a way to tweak the algorithm, so that you never reach your financial goal and end up perpetually chasing the carrot. This benefits them because month after month you're filling up their database with media for AI training, which can be sold and marketed to 3rd party companies in a myriad of ways (hummm very lucrative), while at the same time they get to continually pay you the bare minimum.

So far this year zero P5 sales.  about 4000 assets.  Ever since SS took over sales stopped for me.  Here we are in 2025 and still not a single sale.

I know what you mean, feels like P5 has been on life support since convid.

What were your sales like in 2024 with P5?

Food and drink?

How disgusting.

General Stock Discussion / Re: motionelements payout(s)?
« on: January 22, 2025, 16:01 »
I mentioned in this thread https://www.microstockgroup.com/general-stock-discussion/motionelements-worth-contributing-to that I was having trouble getting a response from their contributor support (or lack of) to resolve a PayPal problem.

They never responded, but after logging in today I had a message in the contributor portal saying that I had to re-link my PayPal account. So it looks like they sorted it - took a while though.

On a side note, I also received around a dollar in subscription commission for Nov and Dec 2024 - yay?

If anyone's a member at ME it might be worth logging in to see if there's any updates.

Tap on Tap off.

2025 appears to be following the same trend as 2024, tap turns on for the 1st week then they turn it off again for the rest of the month.

Every single month it's the same pattern for me.

Thanks for sharing this.

It's the same people who move around the in the same circles, regurgitating the same corporate speak. I wouldn't expect anything else from SS.

And what's ethically sourced AI content?

POND 5 has been dead for a while anyway, who cares what SS does to a dead body

I agree, too, based on my lack of sales.  As I've mentioned before, in January 2024 my sales nearly literally stopped.  My biggest earning has been the dataset.  Month over month zero sales. Previously I would get 3-7 video sales a month. I think I have about 6 for the whole year, several of which are for a net royalty of $2.

Pretty much the same for me as well.

It's crazy how it can go from multiple sales to zero so quickly. I wonder what happened, and yes this trend began before the SS buyout. Maybe they had no more funds for marketing and promotion when competing with AS iS and SS.

35
In the last article above it refers to SS's "billion-plus" asset library. Not sure where that comes from - the web site says over 530 million assets

Likely all the stuff rejected for data licensing.  Maybe also assets of people they've bought like Bigstock/P5 etc etc

More likely all their videos not just the rejected, and as you mentioned, assets from all the companies they bought.

"Contributors can also opt out of having their content used for AI training, though Mandell notes only about 1% have chosen to do so."

I suspect only 1% have 'chosen' to do so because the rest didn't know how or where to opt out.

36
This actually feels as if they are penalizing those who want to correct errors and learn and grow.

These companies are flat out not interested in a contributor learning or growing, those days are long gone.

The real grab is lowering dataset earnings to 20%.

Because according to all their financial statements that is their big future earnings project.

So now they get 100% more on that...

How long until they also take ai?

Do you know what the % of dataset earnings were before the announcement?

It's exciting news time again.

While exclusive artists will earn an increased royalty of 40%

Wasn't it 60%?

lol  :D

Are you considering jumping on the AI bandwagon because your sales are being slowly eroded by AI prompters from all over the world, and you feel as if you're missing out?

If you are, is there anything that's been holding you back from submitting AI content up until now?

Such as, a lack of experience in prompting, concerns about possible legal complications down the road, or because of the way it generates content that's based upon others work, and it doesn't feel right.

How can you tell the images are Gen AI other than their unlikely perfection? Im genuinely interested.

How can you not tell?
A deer with 5 legs and butt-anlters doesn't make you suspicious?

or these hands' very strange anatomy?

See nothing wrong with this bird's legs?

Or this bird's claws?

Shutterstuck is really FULL of these images. It's like they aren't even trying.

It's ridiculous, SS has sunken to a new low, they just don't care anymore.

Back in the day when istock was the only agency, i remember when review times were long but if you got rejected they always came back with tips or suggestions to improve your craft.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobestock Review Time
« on: December 05, 2024, 18:30 »
I used to get my videos reviewed under a week, but this is the first time in a long time that it's been longer than 17 days and still nothing.

Anyone else experiencing long review times for videos recently?

I have a payout pending since last year but can't find any contributor support where I can contact them directly.

In general, I think it's the kind of stock agency where you upload what you like for any price (I've seen lots of crappy AI vids), and there appears to be no review process and goes directly for sale.

Hmm, not really big seller for me but sending to me every $1 if I made sell with them. Definitely no payment problems.

It was my fault, I put an incorrect paypal address and it's been trying to send every month but get's returned. But even though I've corrected it, I think their payment system has given up.

But it's crazy how hard they try NOT to allow direct communication with their contributors.

I have to rant again,

November is shaping up to be one of my worst ever at SS.

All the algorithm wants to do is sell just one of my videos, it's bizarre.

Adobe frequently sells both my new and old vids, while recognizing the better ones which sell even more.

The weighting at SS is definitely off. All it needs is a small adjustment and it could make such a difference, so frustrating.

What's the point in uploading more content there?

For anyone that has deleted their content in the past but forgot about files stuck in the queue, it might be a good idea to periodically check to see if they did a sweep of their system and approved your files. Like they did with mine, which I also swiftly deleted.

Pond5 / Re: exclusive with pond5
« on: November 18, 2024, 08:02 »
i am exclusive since beginning, i have around 500 clips. but last year my sales vanished. i was earning 300 usd each month but now hardly 30. they also started to sell my unique 3d animations for 3 dollars!  what i can do is setting them offline.

So, you were exclusive and they were selling your animations for $3, is this correct?

I thought being exclusive at P5 was for selling content exclusively for the price you set with a 60% commission rate.

I never get 40% commission anymore, it's turned into a myth.

All my HD vids are priced at $70 but they passed onto me the following for November

$2.00
$15.60
$6.40
$6.40

Plus the scraps thrown for dataset earnings.

Thank you sire, how else may I please you?
