i ask my self sometimes why spend my valuable time to write comments for the same agencies which don't generate any or not good money for me... So i make up my mind. i prefer to invest my time to shoot for agencies which returns money for my images. Maybe all of us have to ask ourselves that question.
PS: of course this is out of question for those trying to promote these agencies and some times pretend they are contributors...

if you have a lot of spare time or if you are looking for a photo community then it's almost OK Elsewhere this story it's a big jock. Agencies that don't generates any income is for me just a waist of time. I have gave them a try, uploaded my images and after a few months what happened? Oh the answer is so easy: NOTHING Sorry guys im using stock agencies to pay a part of my bills, it's not just a hobby for me. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

They give the opportunity to everyone to download for free webpage resolution images!!!!! They call it "comp download". As their watermark is almost useless the whole thing looks ridiculous. Just have deleted my portfolio!

i can give you one reason you shouldn't joining MP: waist of time!!! After a few months and zero sales! At the same time same pics have been made a few $100's in the big 6.

I have the Sigma 105 f/2.8, 50 f/2.8, and 17-70 F2.8-4.5. I'm very happy at the moment with these Sigma macro lenses.

you are right moori, 6 months is a reasonable period of time. But i mean the time im in a agency and not the time it's in business. English is not my native language...

Dear Suvakov, in every agency i sign with im giving a time-credit 3-5 months to see how things are going. If any agency generate a reasonable number of sales in this period of time im staying with it, elsewhere just going away. MP is a new agency so it has my credit of time at the moment! Wish you good luck.

Finally MP must think once again about quality control. Browsing the images you can find too many pics that not for 25 Euro but even for free they seems toooo expensive. Nice site, midstock prices, but less quallity images than microstocks...

My first week at SV and got my first sale. Their keyword and category system doesn't works great, as many of you have noticed already. I have also checked the subscription sale, as 30 cents is better than 25 cents in SS!!! Looking forward for next weeks.

when i started to upload pics in microstock sites i signed with many of them. After 6 months i know which ones are serious & professionals and which are just waste of my time. That's all, nothing more or less

some of them are really "Up and Coming". I suggest to add a new category: "Down and departing" !!!

after my email i found this "magic" delete function for files older than 6 months
47
« on: October 16, 2007, 07:37 »
just asking them the same by email. After 7 days i received the following answer: (the most laughing part is the "My images/photos are not selling, what can I do?"!!!!!!!!! They must joging 3 selling on their site & almost 1000 in SS & IS)
"We received your cancellation email and we are sorry for this. We wish you all the best in the future. "Note that photographers who have uploaded photos commit themselves to leave the content on stockphotomedia.com for at least 6 months. This is regardless if the photographer wants to delete his/hers account". The main reason for this is we spent substantial time on every photographer for approval, Ranking and reviewing the photos, not to mention bandwidth, marketing and overhead costs. Note that after 6 months, from the upload date, there will appear a delete button in My Account > My Files / Edit files and you will be able to delete the photos yourself! But we hope that you will reconsider. Why delete all your photos? Is there any harm having them here? You're not selling the rights to your photos. Upload them to as many sites as you want and sell everywhere! Deleting them from here would be to eliminate potential sales.
Best Regards from
/Team Stockphotomedia
My images/photos are not selling, what can I do?
There may be a number of reasons why your images/photos are not selling (why nobody is purchasing them):
1. Your photos are not in demand commercially, in other words there may not be so many people who can actually find a use for your photo. It is better to take photos that you believe will be commercially viable, if you are in it to make money. Look at Popular images to get an idea of the current top sellers.
2. You may have not uploaded enough photos. All of those in the top income bracket have portfolios with from 100 up to several thousand images/photos in their document files. By uploading only a few images/photos you will not generate that much money. Upload a fair sized collection of your most commercially viable or fantastic photos.
3. You may not have allowed enough time/not waited long enough. If you have just signed up and have only built up a small portfolio, keep expanding that collection and give it a few months.
4. The quality of your images/photos may simply not be good enough.
5. You may not have entered enough keywords or you may not have chosen the best categories for your image/photo when you submitted it/uploaded it.
