Try and aim for around 500 to 700 high quality original stock oriantated Files and that should do it

You will find that regrdless of the all of the above merits that most proberly around 25% or less will bring in the bacon ;)

I agree ;)

C'mon seriously with the cuts in royalties, many seeing downloads declining and a deluge of bugs..... to make such carry on about something so triival ?   ::)

Cutting thro all the spin I blame the IS/Getty greed fest for this......

Oh well thats SS and Dreamstime getting my best work from now on! 2 DOWN 2 TO GO hope they hold out rather than follow like over zealous sheep   ::)

Interesting link thanks and seems in line with my decline in Downloads there, and possibly a clue to me seeing a huge increase in On Demand sales over at Shutterstock of late.

As for the reasons why.... think sharpshot pretty much nailed it above

This is what I like about Dreamstime very reliable and trustworthy indeed.

Pleased they are activley persueing this on Contributers behalf as they should, allthough they could not forsee this happening after all they are responsible for our Images being available there ....

So good to know they are dealing with it!

Why does Lobo have to lock every single thread with a snarky comment? Why not a "We are very concerned with protecting our contributors IP rights. Thanks for noticing, we are looking into it."?

Oh, wait, that's because they don't give a crap about you and your IP rights (and it shines through time and again).

I don't think it is that snarky. It gives the required information. And it is likely a canned response using a macro. As in lock this thread and a moderator selects a canned response from a list.

If it's a canned response, it must be something that was just instituted because his remarks in the past have been downright rude, snarky and arrogant.

Totally agree, have noticed this in the past and thought how unprofessional .... there is always one  ;)

33
Thanks for nothing.....

Gold Cannister here still dropping from 20% to a ridiculous 16% and yes I will be working harder this year but I can assure you it will not be at IS to much nonsense going on there ;)

Rather hit and missy however still healthy for me right now ..... really like the set up of Images moving up the credits system which they have there resulting in nice returns  ;)

I do want to nominate KT's post for some sort of razzie award though:

"And I must say, thank you to everyone for helping iStock with an exceptional year. With your hard work, we continue to meet and exceed our goals."

Imagine the school bully who beat you and took your lunch money passing you a note in class:

"Thank you for helping me buy such a wonderful lunch and not hitting me back. With your money I can even buy myself a new video game this weekend too"

Absolutely!  That guy is just amazing!  Every time he makes a post he puts his foot further in his mouth.

Agree... unbelievable!

A case of thanks for nothing for me unfortunately

Funny how exclusives all desperately want to believe they are being helped by the best match despite all the evidence against it.

If it is a delusion, I would not want to dispel it...
Exactly what I was thinking!!!

Remember when it was only the Independants who constantly got the raw end of the stick with bad best match placement however these days IS have managed to create so many divisions within the Exclusive contributes many must be now also experiencing the lack of exposure frustrations

Have stopped uploading and considering deleting my Flames by way of protest/disgust at all of this and more importantly (knowing that some customers shop around) in order not to undercut my royaltiues elsewhere, with the intention of supporting the more deserving  competing Agencies.

Will be leaving my less popular lower quality files there tho, they get what they pay for which will not be allot from now on. IS have made it perfectly clear where they are going with this imo with things only getting worse in the future for the magority of Contributors. It is just down to the indervidual when to decide enough is enough as the more they can get away with......

 ;)

Here we go again ..... as you say nothing should surprise us over there but dont panic yet Guys perhaps it's  IS's own latest reward scheme for some Contributers to aid reaching those crazy credit targets   ;) :o

Yes way down low at IS also here be in in Europe or wherever .... to think once upon a time they were way ahead of the rest come the new year when the ridiculous percentages cuts kick in doubt I will be bothering much with IS, simply not worth the effort for the returns alas

For heavans sake still awaiting reviews even after that email cutting lupload imits

C'MON VEER! hire more staff or somthing but waiting over 2 months?

41
Really weird but noticed how my Royalties total was hardly moving in October despite sales (be it in reduced numbers) however virtually all my downloads so far this month have been XSmall unlike the usual mix

Anyone else noticing a shift in trend re File sizes of late?

With January and the New Year will come the true responses to changes  ;)

Think IS will loose a great deal of quality established content and with it Buyers, there will always the rosy faced newbies and of course the clich  .....

Talking of which Interestingly enough I always find that I gleam more from when certain normally vocal parties remain silent than anything else ;) very much an uneasy increased  'Club' feeling about IS these days with so many ridiculous divisions being created amongst the Contributers. Remember when it was simply Independents who got the raw deal  ;)  Not sure if anyone can feel to safe tho, and sure things will kick off again very soon  ::)

A most welcome email .....

they needed to do something ;) rather get fresher content up there in reasonable time and the 50 cap is adequate for me anyway

Well I have had all of two sales so far from my initial application shots lol

What size Port do you Guys have over there or had before you noticed pleasing results?

Veer / Re: Unacceptable review times at Veer

Well I would not be normally bothered about review times either if I had a resonably established Portfolio there, however with all of my 10 application Images  ;)

« on: November 04, 2010, 07:25 »
May I ask what sort of turn around you Guys have to getting your work up on Veer, just wondering if it is worth staying with it or if I am wasting my time there as I said in another thread.....

I am rapidly loosing heart at Veer and in fact stopped working on key-wording as my second batch ( following application) of around 30 Images have been pending for around 6 weeks now which is totally unacceptable imo regardless of any promotions etc

Shame I had high hopes after getting all my application 10 Files approved the same day

What I really miss there is simply a regular Forum like at the leading Agencies

And have to say I am rapidly loosing heart at Veer and in fact stopped working on key-wording as my second batch ( following application) of around 30 Images have been pending for around 6 weeks now which is totally unacceptable imo regardless of any promotions etc

Yes the timing is simply unbelievable  ::)

Needless to say the 'Club' members will be canvasing and Creative networks will be hot with activity as we speak!

Yes usually a 24 Hour turn around

So by now should be resolved?

At the other end of the spectrum I will be deactivating my best sellers and better Files come January and will take great pleasure in leaving my low selling Images there and concentrate my efforts on their competitors  ;)

No one here seems to understand marketing. Instead of whining about your 10th of a cent going towards the stocky award, maybe you should think about how much of the tax money is wasted by your government. Jeez...

::) you have totally missed the points here, and if it's simply Marketing you are about imo they have failed miserably as given the timing I suspect it will offend more than it will encourage

Talk about Robbing Peter to pay Paul  ::)
