The most exciting thing happening at IS right now is all this moustache thing. I can't understand it.

Looks a place totally abandoned by God.

You don't understand the moustache thing? Istock is Canadian and in Canada (and other places I'm sure) November is Movember. You grow a moustache during the month to raise money for prostate cancer research. It's like wearing a pink ribbon for breast cancer.

Well, so it's a nice initiative, but i love if IS use the same energy to promote our work or or value ourselves as artists.

One of biggest Istock fiascos ever. Why not close this program? It will never take off.

Edit to say: and all this mess is a complete disrespect with artists. Total waste of time for NOTHING.

257
I'd like to read some analysis about all this vector situation. Where is the problem? Or, what is the problem? New sites? Piracy? Prices? Lots of new artists? Best Match? Bad marketing?

There are a lot of new opportunities popping out every day outside. Tablets, cell phones, social media sites, etc... So, why our sales go down instead of growing? Thoughts?

258
Sales drop was really big. Not so long time ago, easily i have 40, 50 downloads in a good days. Now, if i have 5 by day, i'm happy. Sales drop + royalties cut = total demotivation

259
I'm exclusive illustrator only. Your text could have been written by me, because it's exactly what heappens with me. Unfortunately, i don't have answers for share.

Does anyone actually understand this Feast thing? I have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. I'm obviously not "down with the kids" enough.

Thanks for saying it.  I thought I was the only one.  I have no idea what this is about either.  I skimmed over the announcement, but the point of it and the details completely elude me.

Glad i'm not alone. No clue about this Feast means.

261
I would like to open a new topic, but i think this new FEAST site is so useless that it's waste of space, but I have to ask friends. What you think about FEAST this site?

footnote: last 9/7 was a birthday of the great cut of royalties day. I never forget.

262
I'm not independent and i'll stay, but i lose all my motivation. Almost 6 months without upload new illustrations.

Adieu, Kelly. Though sounds like you'll still have plenty of say in the future of IS.

Yeah. That's the bad news...  :-\

Bye Bye KK. I don't miss you. And please, before you go, bring back my royalties.

You ungrateful contributors! He worked his ass off and he's jet-lagged! Poor KKT :'(

I think i need some clarification. He's doing us some kind of special favor??!!?

Kelly's answer:

You know what, Kelly does read, and worked his ass off to get the interview so millions of people could read it and remember to come to iStock to buy stuff. As did the rest of the team. And the 15-some interviews we did in the last two weeks in Italy & London.

But I do apologize as I may have botched what I was trying to say. The PR team warned me after the interview I had been very unclear in that section and was jumping around. I think I answered his questions out of order. The fraction of a percent was definitely about the total change in royalties paid out, not the number of people it affected. So I don't think I said that, but it was a 3 hour interview. And I'm jet lagged. And I've screwed up worse before--it's not out of the realm of possibilities.

We announced some important things on CNET today. Please concentrate on which of all your files will work as PNGs. That's exciting news, and we'll be the first agency to have them. And hopefully enjoy the bump in sales these articles (usually) give us.

So disheartening to see the COO spin these untruths to the media, especially when these moves have hurt livelihoods. He truly doesn't care at all.  Note again that he's never been promoted to CEO. Not too difficult to see why.

And it's not first time. This guy is a SERIAL LIAR.

I'm dramatically affected.

Be part of 0.1 percent of more than 100,000 contributors is like win somekind of hell's lottery.

I just receive this sitemail:

I was wondering what you might sell your usage for your "lightbox XX" and "lightbox XXX" collections for as a whole group?  Just let me know.

Thoughts? I'm bit confused about what he wants. He can just buy entire lightboxes, no?

Yes, of course he/she can. You have nothing to do directly with prices or sales. Now things are getting even wonkier. Tell him you don't set the prices, istock does, and that there is a buy this lightbox button at the lower right-hand corner of each of the light boxes for his/her convenience.

Thanks, WS. Exactly what i did.

Well, buyers were complaining yesterday:

"Desperate: I tried this several times (American Express) not only Istock does not answer emails - never! But this is not working and no answers.... I promise if I hadnt spent so many hours looking at pictures I would immediatly run to another provider... WHEN WILL THIS GET FIXED? Thank you"

Let's all start sending him old lens caps.

That's a brilliant idea.
Let's flood IS HQ with old lens caps as a form of protest.
Would be pretty cool send it direct to KT.

Birthday gifts.

IS just delete Dave Turton's message about conference call

 IS didn't delete it.

Confirmed.

Funny, seems that Dave was afraid of some IS retaliation.
