Microstock Services / Re: Good $ per download tip

Thanks Markjay. We already know about this site, a lot of us a members there. See here: http://www.microstockgroup.com/general-stock-discussion/sold-one-business-card-again!-d/

My first thought was that it would mean giving a stranger my passwords, and access to my earnings on the sites. I think its great that you are looking for original ways to earn money, but you need to think this through a bit more.

I got withdrawal symptoms! I didn't realise quite how much I visit this site every day. :o Nice to see it back.

I bet Yuri will be delighted to learn that he is saving the planet.

All the Christmas catalogues, brochures and advertising are completed months before Christmas. A couple of weeks before is much too late. I have already had a few downloads of Christmas images. Halloween images have stared selling too. I sold five or six in the last two weeks.

I was commenting on the front page photo, not the rest in the series.

If he wants to emphasize the theme of summer and that the girl is hot, would it not work better without  the reflection of a tubby photographer in a stripy teeshirt. standing in a messy room?
These are stock pictures, not fine art. Can you imagine them blown up on a billboard with the reflections six foot tall?

OK, I was commenting on the series.

On one of the pictures in the series (The one where she is touching her ear) you can plainly see the photographer taking the picture in his very messy house. It looks like his living room with a big reflector stuck in the middle. Not a real studio. At least he is dressed, not like the famous Ebay reflections!

I started a couple more. My previous one has been repaid, so I am reusing the funds. It is a great way to make our small change works for someone else!

Normal for me except that I have to log on twice! I log on, and it doesn't recognise me. I change nothing, just press enter again with the same login and password, and I am in! Very odd.

I love it! Its by far the most versatile camera I ever had.The bugs that were reported early on were fixed with an easy download.
I recently did a friend's wedding. Photos before, film of them taking the vows, photos after, and lots of film of drunken relatives having fun at the reception. So easy, all with one camera, and they are delighted with it all. The quality is superb. Just buy lots of big memory cards. I have 4 x 16 gig, 4 x 8 gig, and a few smaller cards. I used them all!
I shot with the camera on auto ISO, and expected a lot of noise in the evening indoor shots. I was pleasantly surprised. The noise was there, but far less than I expected.
Replacement batteries are very expensive. I am waiting for them to come down in price.  I tried a battery grip in the local camera shop, but the camera is too heavy for me to use in comfort with the grip in place.(I am average size for a woman).
I have not done a lot for stock lately, too busy, but I plan to get down to that soon. I did some macro work this morning, and had a first run through in Lightroom. They seem very good.
I have bought a new lens, but my tatty old lenses let the camera down a bit. I bought them before I knew any better! I plan to buy better lenses in the near future.
If I had the choice of buying the camera when I did or waiting, I would buy it straight away, but I do use it for far more than stock.

It is a glitch. I tried it for the last two years when I have had plenty of activity, and I got the same message.

« on: March 17, 2009, 14:37 »
This is looking very strange. Why did so many people have EL sales yesterday? (March 16)  I had two, different photos but the same subject (industrial equipment). It seems too many people had the same thing happen on the same day to make it coincidence.

Any theories? New big, EL-only buyer subscribed? Buyer doing a big project? Hmm....

Mine were of factories. Maybe someone doing a big project about industry?

I have not got this any more. I like this aspect of Fotolia, but maybe people were taking advantage of it and pestering buyers.

I had 4 EL's just yesterday. They are getting more and more frequent. They always seem to be some obscure file that has not seen a download in months, rather that my best-sellers.

How about only allowing 10 images per contributor per week on each site? Contributors would be forced to submit only the cream of their images, and the standards would go through the roof. Approval time would be minimal, and the sites would not need as many approvers, giving more cash to spend on advertising. The top contributors would really be the best artists, not the most productive.

Oh, and all my images come first in every search. ;)
