I think JPSDK just doesn't fully understand the concept and the huge potential of Symbiostock yet and I admit that I had similar thoughts when I approached it at the first time.

Symbiostock is a technical foundation. What you build on it is your own business. It can be anything from your closed little store to a giant network. But the foundation is there, someone set it for you already.

And seriously, it isn't easy to understand until you try it and see for yourself that you can choose your network partners, set your own file sizes and prices and change pretty much anything. Make it as centralized, cluttered, large or small as you want. Set up your own agency if you like.

But don't expect that others do the work for you while you sit back and only criticize. Do what you have in mind and stop bitching about things others have done.

Or at least do your homework, install a WP/SYS and check it out so you know what you're talking about.

Today's project is to figure out how to make the background transparent. I spent yesterday afternoon looking at how-to videos and instructions. Should have figured it out by now but went to bed last night with the problem unresolved.

I think I know why traditional stock shooters are very hesitant even though they'd love to have a network powered sales channel with 100% revenue.

• Symbiostock appearance/marketing is very "microstocky". It's not only that MSG is hosting the SYS support forum but also the hidden pointers (like the meta title of symbiostock.com, the mentioning of "Royalty Free" only etc). To outsiders it looks like Symbiostock is a 'microstock only' product.
  
• The lack of RM and Editorial Only functions. This is a very big deal to traditional shooters. Many of them supply much more RM than RF material.
• The fear that they have to "compete" with microstock shooters. Which is wrong because this competition is very present anyway. Picture buyers know that microstock exists, even if macrostock contributors try to stay in their own closed orbit.

I completely agree. Just a few notes about the update, what it will do, and how to install it properly.

I'll locate the previous version for you, though if you look at that post I gave you I question its even anything I can control. FTP is the best.

Yeah but that's what I mean, I can't use FTP anymore because the upload folder has changed or has been deleted. I prefer FTP very much.

I didn't have any issues either, before 2.5.6.
But since this update appeared in my WP update area and I'm not following every single thread on this forum I thought it's safe to run the update (expecting improvements from it).

I really don't know what to do now.

I've seen this one but I still don't know what to do.
Am I supposed to "update" to the older version 2.5.5? Where would I get this version and will this really work since 2.5.6 has obviously changed the folder structure?
