Hi, I just wanted to say a big thank you to steve-oh  for being the most helpful admin that I have come across on any microstock site.  Your constant help and feedback both here and on the stockxpert forums is greatly appreciated and I'm sure I speak for everone else here. :)

I'm getting normal downloads.

« on: November 06, 2007, 15:52 »
I used to report keywords because it annoys me so much to see such blatant spamming messing up the searches but a load  of the images that I reported about 6 months ago are still at the beginning of searches that they don't belong in so I have given up completely now.  eg.  one person with the keyword 'group of people'

Hi Sammy, you'll like it here.  I have looked at a lot of stock photography forums but this is by far the best and friendliest.

I read that the 7 day rank isn't working yet only the overall rank.  So you could have dropped if someone else sold more than you.

Microstock News / Re: Image Levels update
« on: November 02, 2007, 10:41 »
OK, I'm confused.  I thought subscription royalties were increased to .30 ... yet I have one subscription sale with 11/02/07 date for .25.  Anyone else have this problem?

Probably bought with old credits. I've got a mixture of 25c and 30c downloads.
Just sold a small level 5 image for 2.50$  ;D

I believe that through this site people could buy  a single image without having to buy a subscription.  Obviously they had to pay a lot more per image and we also earnt a lot more but I think that out of over 26,000 sales that I have had on SS only a handful were sold this way so it didn't really work well anyway so won't make much difference

Don't know who's image this is but it's got some bad keyword spamming.

No copyright issue on this one?

Did you delete your portfolio from SS because when I click on the link under your post it comes up as 'There are no photos in this gallery.'
BTW I have looked at your photos with other agencies and they are excellent.

« on: November 01, 2007, 08:31 »
Thanks, you're right they are there when I go into that day's page but just not there on the months stats.  I have written to support.

Same thing is happening on my accounts balance page when viewed by month.

FYI: You can view yours here:

http://www.stockxpert.com/balance.phtml?month=10&year=2007&x=5&y=13

But if I view the individual day, then the stats look fine:

Yesterday when I went to bed I had 10 dls at StockXpert.  This morning they aren't showing in the monthly totals, it just shows a 0 against 31st October.  Anybody else experiencing this?

It's not the fault of the stock companies that the dollar is so weak.  Why should they have to compensate it.

« on: October 30, 2007, 01:34 »
You have to wait 3 days before you can submit again but you can wait longer if you want to. 3 days is the minimum it's not that you have to submit something in 3 days time. I think that's what you were asking.

2565
I usually collect earnings about once a month but not necessarily at the end of the month. Sometimes don't wait a month if I have bills that need paying.

Congratulations, what a great find.  ;D
Here's a shot of mine on the front cover of The Georgia Straight, Canada's largest free weekly newspaper. It looked mighty nice printed that large!

Wow sharply_done! I completely missed that edition of the GS. A very belated congrats!!! You must have been thrilled. It looks great!

« on: October 26, 2007, 02:06 »

How does it happen that images with higher numbering (submitted later) go through and appear in search earlier sometimes than images with lower numbers (submitted earlier)? (no, I am not conspiracy theory fan at all).

Are you talking about the popular search? If you are it is probably because they have already sold a few times.  If you're talking about the newest first search then I have no idea.

« on: October 26, 2007, 02:01 »
I've had a better acceptance rate than ever lately on SS.  I've uploaded about 60 this month and haven't had a  single refusal. I think it definately helps to put them in small batches.  I usually upload between 5 and 10 and don't put up any more until the last batch has been approved.

Adobe Stock / Re: Where are your pictures being used?
« on: October 26, 2007, 01:57 »

After some googling these are my biggest buyers: a lot of graphic design firms (webdesign and print), couple of newspapers, some religious groups for some reason and that's about all i could find out.

Mine get used quite regularly for religious groups as well.  I think that they have low budgets and can only afford microstock although I've found lots of other uses besides web : magazines, newspapers, flyers, catalogues etc.

I always use the is IS one after getting rid of the logo and any reference to IS.  There's a sentence at the bottom of the page with the word istock in it so don't forget to get rid of that as well.

StockXpert.com / Re: subscription impact on sales?
« on: October 24, 2007, 09:58 »
Sales seem about normal to me. I've had one Sub sale only so far but it's impossible to know if they would have bought it at the normal price.  So I don't know if I lost money or gained 30c.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: First sales but...
« on: October 24, 2007, 00:47 »
Istock have by far the highest standards. I have uploaded 50 images this month over 5 sites. They have all been accepted by 4 of the sites(except one small batch waiting approval at StockXpert)  but IS rejected 7 of them.
I'm not complaining because they were right in the reasons given and I will be able to re-submit them when I adjust them but IS more than any make you improve your standards which overall will benefit all the agencies.

If there are any pictures of children at any agencies with keywords such as 'sex' or 'sexy' those words should be removed immediately or alternatively the image deleted.

Also a young child with the word sex as a keyword.
This guy should be banned from the sites where he does this keywording.
