OK you just made me spit coffee all over my screen. You sound like my sister who is a recovered acoholic and also uses her experiences to make us laugh. Well done I have so much respect for people like you and my sister. PS I have seen your photos at one of the sites and they are stunning.

I always use the istock release on dreamstime but once I forgot to take off the istock name right at the bottom and the release was rejected. If you make sure you take off the istock name and logo it should be ok at DT, fotolia, stockxpert and shutterstock and probably others that I don't upload to.

I believe that on istock and fotolia you can keyword in Spanish, then you can change the language to english and copy the keywords for any other site you upload to.

If you keep refreshing(f5) your page you will get to see even more photos.
Sorry fotografer that does not seem to work for me.
That's strange, I just tried it on mine, refreshed 6 times and got a different set of photos each time. It was a tip I read on the istock forums. I don't know why it isn't working for you.

Another big advantage of fiotw is that a few designers noticed me and added me to their CN so that they could keep an eye on my portfolio and as yingyang0 said sales definatly went up both on istock and dreamstime when I had free image of the day.

Three members have spotted images of mine in magazines and sent me copies. They recognize my models as they regularly look at my portfolio and I often spot images by members of my CN and send copies to them. Often I don't bother if I recognize something and don't know the photographer.

I'm just wondering why if dreamstime pointed out your 'error', then why didn't you immediatly disable them from istock.

Has anyone found that submitting a free image every once in a while has boosted portfolio exposure and earnings? I haven't tried that yet.
Yes, I've had two on dreamstime and one on istock and it definatly boosted sales and on istock led to several designers adding me to their network.

I Had the same rejection but then I noticed that I had deleted the logo from the top of the release but had forgotten to take the istock name off the bottom of the release.

I find the same thing with DT almost impossible for me to get non people shots approved but in the last few months almost 100% approval on people shots. The reason for rejection is never technical but always not what they want but they seem to accept similar shots from others. It seems as if they won't encourage you to do non people shots if they know you do a lot of people shots.

Never had one before at DT but have had 2 this week on the same photo. Both were for more than 2500000 copies so maybe it is being used for a brochure or something that is being printed 5 million times. I was a touristy type photo. It has made me 50$ in commissions this week

Where do you guys get the idea that istock accepts crap from exclusives, while non-exclusives are rejected? Is see this mentioned repeatedly on this site - this is nothing but a bunch of crap.
I'm not exclusive but I agree with you completely. I find them fairer than anyone with rejections and on a second look I always agree with them something I can't say about some of the other sites.

I find the same but the download per view rate on fotolia is much higher that at stockxpert and it's the downloads that count not the views. eg. one of my images on fotolia has 16 views and 5 downloads and the same image on stockxpert has 28 views and 0 downloads.

I'll second stockxpert. I signed up with them about a month ago and sales are going fairly well. Will definatly take the time to put the rest of my portfolio up with them

Hi just had another look and it now has 5 downloads, so it's either better than some people think it is or the adverse publicity is doing it good. Feel free to insult one of my non sellers ps no need for people to get aggressive over this, what Madelaide did was a bit unthoughtful and hurtful if the photographer concerned saw it but everyone is entitled to their own opinions. FWIW I am non exclusive on istock and make more money there than any of the other 4 sites I am on. I have been on an istockalypse and was never made to feel inferior by anybody including Bruce and the other admin.

Slightly lower than usual. Yesterday 40c average when it is normally more like 50c. Must be a lot of people working on web pages.

This site looks promising. Started up loading yesterday and got about 50 on line already and have had 3 sales so far this morning Probably wouldn't have even bothered with them if I hadn't read these forums so thanks everyone.

Thanksgiving was my 2nd best day ever on SS and was totally unexpected (90 downloads from 350 uploads) . Yesterday I didn't even do half that and today isn't going too well so far.

Hi, Thanks, I just checked my messages and nothing yet. I was just wondering if it was normal to wait so long after they say it will only take a couple of days. Just getting impatient to start uploading I suppose. I hope that they aren't going to take weeks rather than days about it if they ask for 3 more.
