Madelaide, I use a Canon 580 EX II speedlight. The best Christmas present ever! For a diffuser I use a homemade one made from a white plastic carton. I also have one made from the material from and old shoot-through umbrella. I like this flash because of the amount of comtrol I have when using it. I also have an own brand flash from Jessops, but I don't know if they still make them. I used it before I got the 580. It was adequate, but only just.

I use a speedlite with a diffuser also. It works fine with the 100mm, and can be used for lots more beside.

Paul, I have the 28-300mm f/3.5-4.6L IS USM. I use it on a tripod, and have had loads of pictures taken at the 300 end accepted for stock. Previously I had the Sigma equivalent, and it was useless for stock. Try to buy the 5d with the kit lens. It is a great walk round lens.

I was given one of these as a birthday present last year. It works fine, I have had no problems and have been happy with it. I have used a Wacom tablet in the past, so I know the difference between the two. I would not hesitate to buy the Trust one again if it ever needs replacing.

No, it has not been shut down. The site is up and running today. I can see loads of files I recognize from the stock sites.

Well I know what to shoot, but how do I shoot that on a casino table? Seriously, what on earth is going on with the keywords when a word like that is included in the keyword of a shot of a roulette wheel? (you did click on the link didn't you?)

Hi, Go to upload files, then click on FTP, then click on Process files. This brings your files into the unfinished files area and you can add keywords etc.

My sales at Canstock have taken off like a rocket this week. The sales at Fotosearch are really making a difference. Canstock has been dead slow for years, this week it has shot up to my number two spot! I love those big Fotosearch sales!

Snapvilliage is one the biggest disappointment of the industry. Everyone had great hopes when they started, and they have made a complete mess of the business. Warning bells rang when the staff went on holiday to 'brainstorm'. Nothing came out of that, but I bet they had a good time. Just listening to experienced people in the industry would have saved a whole load of time and money, and maybe, in the long term, saved their jobs. Brian must be embarrassed to read the comments here, and see how little regard we have for them. I wonder if anybody from Corbis ever reads this forum.

so, if the images are on FT, I cant upload them on pixmac? ...
100$ per 500 aprovals sounds nice. for 3000 files, i would get 600$, which is not bad at all.... but I have those on FT, so nothing usefull there.... pitty.
There is no such thing as easy money. hhhhh
They don't actually say that do they? I cannot find where they say that. I signed up and had a good look round, they have FTP and pay 50% for non exlusive rights.

There are lots of people complaining about poor sales but I am sure there are others doing very nicely and keeping quiet about it.
Yep, If you brag about sales your portfolio is copied to death.

@ everyone:
Do not come to Photocase.com, you will only waste your time and ours.
I think we already worked that out!

I have had two payouts from Panthermedia in the last few months. Sales are sporadic, but they do happen! Of all the pictures I have sold, only two have been photos, the rest are illustrations. They are quite picky and slow with their approvals, but I like the site overall. If you are looking for an extra site to upload to, I would recommend them. I wouldn't think it would take much for an Artificial Intelligence (AI) programmer to develop and appliation that would categorize images by their keywords. I guess a lot would end up in the SPAM category though!

Dudebun,
Have you any comment on the earlier post about how your reviewers select images? (See reply number 11).
Also, How long has your site been in Beta?

Milinz, How much did the files on Istock sell for? Its hard to do the maths without all the information.
