No matter who said it, it's a lot of poor statistics and an unexplained accusation.
You're looking for some crazy conspiracy. He's basically saying most Shutterstock users use Adobe. Shutterstock and Adobe have mostly the same images. Adobe can market to people with Shutterstock subscriptions and take them away with cheaper prices.

I'll observe that it's not surprising that you're defending the indefensible.
What exactly am I defending here?
Your are defending Yuri's unverified statements indirectly by claiming that those who would question them are haters or jealous, rather than engaging with the issues objectively.
That's nutty, I haven't said anything about the few comments that question his blog post I'm talking about the vast majority of comments aimed at Yuri like you calling him "delusional". If you want to talk about issues talk about them but almost everything you've said is about Yuri not his blog post. I really couldn't care less about his analysis of Adobe, it's his analysis for him, it's not how I would judge a site. What issues have you even brought up? How he's delusional, how he nearly filed for bankruptcy, he got a special deal, made a video for fotolia, glass houses, he brags, his site isn't doing well etc.. none of that has anything to do with issues about his analysis it's petty and personal.

With all the vitriol on this site (just look at how much hatin' there is in this thread) I think it's safe to say he won't be coming here to answer anyone's questions.
I don't see much, if any, hate. Just a lot of questioning of his analysis and 'selection' of data to bump his suggestions.

Where do you and Lagereek get the idea that questioning Yuri's analysis of Adobestock comes from jealousy, rather than simply questioning his article's rigour?
Most comments including your own are about Yuri himself not his analysis of Adobe. It looks like a lot of jealousy and sour grapes to me but that's what this place is about so it shouldn't be surprising.

Can help thinking if it was doing well we would have heard more........
He did say "I will most likely have the best year ever either this year or next year."
"Depends on Nov and Dec sales this year." I am very curious to know how he's shielding his income from subs, especially the recent one month subs offering.

I am responding to the quote, not Ticktock. That's probably because he has exclusivity with IS/Getty, still runs his own site that competes with IS/Getty, is on other micros which also competes with IS/Getty. What mainstream contributor would ever get that deal? Yuri's success has little correlation to those bound by agency exclusivity rules.
Ok, just responding to the question of whether or not he was doing well.

Did anyone read all 18 comments of the OP and consider he might be pulling your leg?
+1
Of course he's lying, that's what he does.

Having 100,000 sales on iStock says something about the quality of work. If Shutterstock thinks those don't have commercial value what does that say?

The reviews are incredibly inconsistent. Nothing to do with reasons needing work. They worked fine up untill this whole inconsistency started.

Where is our fearless low royalty crusader?
I don't think I have anything to add to this topic, it's all been said already.

That is good news. I wonder how that works though since they wouldn't know if a buyer uses up the full amount of subs until after they reported it to you. Maybe a delayed reporting? And hopefully it stays that way when they are done testing.

If your content is obsolete in two weeks it's not going to be worth uploading as stock.

still no answer?
No.
I thought I was getting an answer earlier today but it was from someone in their "Contributor Success" department asking me "at my earliest convenience" to tell them exactly where a particular image was taken (a customer wanted to know).
I was tempted to tell them that when it was convenient for them to answer my query from last week I'd be happy to answer, but no reason to ruin this woman's day for something another department did/didn't do
I will post when I get an answer, and if I haven't heard in a week, I'll contact them again.
" customer wants to know where an image was taken" ?? I have had four of these mails. What is it all about, is this some kind of " fishing for info" thingy. I'm getting suspicious, one of the images were taken in the middle of nowhere so why would it matter where it was shot?
Makes you wonder if the final response will even be about the correct subscription plan.

BTW, after two time outs, I managed to get onto the Plans and Pricing page, and the 10subs/month seems not to be available to me at the moment.
Tiny bit of good news.

Has it been brought up in the SS forum and do they answer questions there?

It only makes sense as an exclusive. I am exclusive so my sales are better as is my rate. Couple of points to note is I don't have to do any extra work for my clips to go to Getty. The upload system is much better and 4k is coming. 4k at non-exclusive rate is crazy!! I average $50.00 per sale so that is ok by me. I don't know how many exclusive artist are left but iStock is trying to force to go exclusive in video. Interesting times.
Yeah I agree. I'm going to wait till January to evaluate my decision but the most likely choice will either be to go exclusive at Pond5 or iStock and drop SS. My last bunch of sales at SS has been at a pathetically low RPD, even lower than I'm getting at iStock so in all likelihood I'm going to drop SS and iS in favor of Pond5.
Here comes the eternal question. Be exclusive with just one Agency, or try to sell in as much agencies as you can the same footage.
It is worth to live just in one agency? I talk about footage, not photos or others.
Personally I think pricing is too low for nonexclusive content so I would prefer exclusivity. When the same work is on lots of sites those sites compete on price. I don't think that is a good place to be long term. If your work is unique then it should command a premium rather than become a commodity.

Yep. Crying wolf.
How so? For this whole year SS has had less sales at a lower RPD for me, that's a fact. They've also had very low RPD sales for the last few months, also a fact.

This is very, very weird. It is almost hard to believe! My SS footage RPD for the past 2 years is $27.9. This is more than 350% better than IS.
Hard evidence to boycott IS royalty insult.
My guess is that tickstock is only counting his/her "last bunch of sales" (whatever that means) and not his/her overall RPD at Shutterstock. He/she enjoys crying wolf.
I was just talking about my last bunch of sales at SS which were really low but I checked for the whole year and I have about the same RPD for both sites. The last few months though I've had less sales and at a much lower RPD at SS than iStock though.

I didnt notice it when completing my poll. I would add my eyeem sales and any istock/getty sales if they happen. I would also enter it twice for eyeem, until their own marketplace takes off and I can separate the two marketplaces.
wouldnt be scientific, but it gives an indication where the money is actually coming from.
Do you also add your Bigstock earnings to your SS total and then again for Bigstock itself? I think you should enter your earnings once, why inflate it?
