I've updated the SY theme to 2.5.6 this morning and can't upload any pictures since then.
The WP SY uploader gives me:
"Symbiostock Image Uploader You browser doesn't have Flash, Silverlight, Gears, BrowserPlus or HTML5 support."
and suggests FTP upload to ... /wp-content/plupload/uploads/ but this directory doesn't even exist anymore.
Like I mentioned before, until this morning I've uploaded every day and everything worked great. Now the FTP directory is gone and I don't know where to send my files to.
My browser is Chrome, BTW.
Need help.

Have found one way around an Editorial banner - and it can be edited to your own preferences - mine just needs to shrink a bit http://stockimages.kerioak.com/image/easyjet-plane-at-airport/
Do you mind sharing how you've done it? Do you simply put this picture into the image description?

Why would you want to sell your images on Alamy instead of on your own site?

To reply to the OP, I hope it becomes a success, I would love to see 200k images. That would be a tremendous achievement.
I believe it's not a question if it happens but when. I might take bets that 200K images will be reached within the next 4 months, growing easily into half a million within a year. I actually think if this thing catches fire, this could be one of the largest image sources within a few years.

I think the Symbiostock concept has so much potential that some of the big agencies and contributors are already aware of it. However, I also believe with the potential also comes the risk that many contributors will join while not maintaining the quality of content. Which could be damaging to the entire idea, IMO.

Thanks for the answers. That's a pity though. I feel like we're not using the full potential of our products and our site.

I did a compound keyword search on my own site and noticed that my network partner symbiostock.info listed more of my images than my own site.
So my question is, does Symbiostock.info have a better search engine than individual SY sites? Obviously compound search terms deliver poorer results on my SY site than they do via the networking hub. Any explanation for that?

Any ideas where to set how many "Similar Images" are being shown on the image page. It's set to 12 which I find to be too many choices. I think giving the potential customer 6 possible alternatives would be plenty and might not confuse him/her too much.

I had the same problem ( images to be processed disappearing)... I think they are gone forever. You will need to up load again. I now know not to update while I have images ready to process...
That's a tough lesson to be learned. It's gonna be a PITA to figure out which images have been processed already and which haven't.
what I started doing was putting uploaded images into a separate folder rather than immediately deleting (I always upload copies from archives). then confirm the images have been processed ok before deleting. a bit less of a hassle this way
I'm not sure I can follow. What do you mean by "immediately deleting"? I don't delete anything (at least not on purpose).

I've done the update. But now my "Process Uploads" images are all gone. The process queue is empty. Does that mean I have to upload the unprocessed images again or have they been processed to drafts?

Slightly more complex CSS question. I'm running Amanda's clean theme, and on the image display/purchase screen, my descriptions of the image run straight into the author's picture and bio - with no spaces unless I force a "non breaking space" into each description of each image. As I didn't do this for the first 600 images, this is a hassle!
I would like to add a bit of padding either underneath the description display on the image page, or at the top of the author bio segment so that there is a space between the two. I can see the various Class IDs when I look at the source code, but not sure how to modify one of those to add a bit of space.
Ideas?
Steve
Try this. (Add it to your child theme CSS) /*Padding Image Page Author Bio*/
.author-bio { padding-top: 20px; }

Thanks, Steve.
Just a suggestion - I really think important updates should be published somewhere in WP. I'm sure not everybody who's interested in becoming a SY contributor likes to follow this forum constantly.

Sorry if I'm losing track of all the updates. I'm still on 2.4.8 and I don't get any notifications inside WP admin area. Are new updates not broadcasted anymore? Where to get them? Should I wait until a major new update get's published or should I try to keep the pace and update the theme multiple times a day?

Karen, it seems to me you have used a simple text widget without giving any format information to get this menu block into your site. Do you mind sending me the widget text by PM so I can adjust it?
Or you could also use the Menu widget with a menu you've created before. The Menu widget has already formatting included.

Just take a look at the source code of your page and find which CSS class is pulled to format the text. Then overwrite this CSS class with the parameters you like by putting it into your child theme CSS.
If this doesn't solve the problem then let me know the URL of your site.

I managed to change the background color of the footer but I can't figure out how to change the text color of the "Information" text and links below (they are in a text widget) and also the grey copyright info in the footer.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to change the font colors here?
If I'm correct the footer info font is defined by the CSS class "muted". Just paste this code into your child theme CSS to change color or other attributes to your liking. This is an example for making the font red. /*Footer Info Text*/
.muted { color: #FF0000; }

I really need bulk actions for the following:
Rating Rank Model Released Property Released
I second that request and want to add "Editorial Use Only!" to the list.

Yes, it's working. You got a nice site and great images!
Thanks, it'll still take a few weeks to get most of my images up.

That's very strange and right now I have no idea how it happened but somehow an empty "default.html" appeared in my root directory. Deleted it and now we're back to normal.

All of a sudden I'm getting a white screen, too. Thanks for letting me know, I'll check on that.

Would you share you mobile fix maybe? I really want to fix my site for mobile.
Thanks.
Sure, that's no secret. I didn't develop a mobile site but re-established the responsiveness of the theme. The SY child theme itself is already a responsive layout theme. The problem was simply that the "Home Page CTAs" template and the "Featured Images Preview Slider" are not responsive. I just used a different home page template (Home Page Simple) and substituted the Featured Image Slider with a third party Slideshow (Soliloquy), made a few adjustments to the layout and that was it. It is now fully responsive and will automatically adjust to any common screen size. Please go ahead and try it by resizing your browser window while surfing on your computer or by looking at my site on different devices. http://picturebreeze.com

RM and Editorial Mobile Site Stock Video Exclusive/Buy-Out Pricing Feature
I have to quote myself to update my wish list. 1. I was able to solve the mobile site problem. Not needed anymore. 2. I actually don't really need the RM specifics since I can modify my license text that way that I don't need to have different licenses. Remaining wishes are: 1. Very important: a check box in the Edit Image area to mark an image as "Editorial Only" which should prominently be shown on the frontend image page (just like the Exclusive sign) Also, the release statuses should be shown on the frontend image page. 2. and 3. from my quote above are nice to have in the future and but have certainly not high priority.

Do it at the same time as you do your seo edits?
I do because I have to. If I could set the default option correctly BEFORE I start uploading/processing a batch then I wouldn't NEED to do it again individually.

They don't do anything (yet). I fill them in anyway in case they are activated - as Exclusive was the other day
Yeah, but that's the point. I would like to have the PR/MR status set correctly when I upload/edit my images so I don't have to do it later again (when it does do something). But the "global/default" option (Author Options") simply doesn't work. I usually upload images in batches of sessions and would like to have my images properly processed so I don't have to change the MR/PR status manually.
