Nobody here is going to be able to answer that for you.
Ask Mat.

Ask Mat Hayward to look into it for you

How do they consistently come up with these lame attempts at showing us what we sell?

Clicking on plus signs for each item to see how many times it sold by the different entities really.
Too frustrating and time consuming to be of any value. They could have easily put that useless info into columns.

And put in the Dollar Amounts - Contrary to what they think, thats what matters.

And from a user standpoint having to click 'load more' is one of the worst ideas web developers have ever come up with.
Just load the info into a single page and be done with it.

You can reserve one now for a $250 deposit and $1700 due prior to shipment (sometime this year and only available in the USA so far).
A bit much for something I can't hold in my hand and see raw images on my computer before I buy.

Ss immediately airbrushes the remaining three images and offers them on Offset for $500 a pop. You get nothing. A year later image B's licensing terms are over, so they airbrush that and put it on the main SS site, in direct competiton with your own port. You get nothing, and you're not named on SS or Offset as the photographer. You're also not allowed to tell people that SS image is yours.

Eventually, if this effort is successful, SS has built up a huge portfolio of images they own...

I've been wondering for a while if SS doesn't already have some wholly owned content on the site. Getty has content they own, not to far-fetched to think SS may be behind some of the large portfolios that we see.

How would you use them as regular stock? They'd feature a copyrighted product, I'm guessing. I think SS stopped accepting photos of products. Even if they did accept them they'd be editorial, no?

Really, they're just trying to grab the lion's share of fees for custom work from clients by underpricing the very people they represent. I'd think the folks who are getting independent assignments would see their assignments disappear as their clients realize they can get that stuff for a few bucks, and have ten or twenty people work on it, if they go through sS.

Not true. They still accept Illustrative Editorial images.

I just wrote a blog post about SS Custom:

It appears that they've accepted me :)

Did you get accepted or just the second email to complete the application?

"Something something imaginary money blah something social" is what I got.

Couldn't have summarized it better if I tried.

Bridge keeps your keywords in the order you enter them.

I've been stuck on the same sum since 9 this morning and I thought Oh boy this is the new SS all over not surprised!  then comes Alamy from nowhere with a $ 294 sale saving the day!  pugh!!

I spoke to an x-employee of SS late last night I've known him long before SS came on the scene used to work in the old film-agencies and he did not give a pretty picture and I'm actually surprised we are earning any money at all. :-\

Care to elaborate?

General Stock Discussion / Re: The Title/description of photos
« on: August 07, 2017, 17:10 »
Guys i just wonder a question, if there is some words exist in my photo's title but somehow it was not included in the keywords area, is that possible for buyer to find the photo through this word? :)

If it works anything like google the title should matter significantly more than the keywords. Shutterstock even removes the keywords if the word is in the title to prevent redundant information.

No they don't.

They did last time I uploaded :/ pretty sure.

Well I just ran through the last dozen or so uploads and nothing has been removed - they are exactly the way I uploaded them - any words that are in my description still appear in my keywords.

Sales stop updating for me since January 1st  :-\

So which is it?

This is my 7th July (Started the business in March 2011) and turn out to be my best July....

Okay, Mr Black & White. Of course my sales updates have been working since January1st. I was having some fun and nothing more.
Every time SS has a hiccup- folks run around saying the world is ending.   Just my way of having a little humor in this harsh business and nothing more or less...

Just think you should make it obvious when you're joking, which I see you attempted to do in your edit of your OP. When you post conflicting statements it makes it hard to take you seriously in anything you post. I place value on honesty and integrity in the forum.

I made a typo, I meant 35000 +/- 34800

People are too obsessed with figures on this forum. Any shrewd contributor having good success would keep that info to themselves and talk about everything apart from finances.
But you've made the most explicit posts about your income in the past as evidenced by the quote catching you out in your lie. Far more precise than the approximate numbers everyone else has given.

I was just having a laugh with overly earnest contributors who are infatuated with finances. You shoot yourself in the foot if you share all of your info.

Your actions have just devalued all of your posts - past, present and future.  It hurts this forum when people can't be trusted. Rather than posting mis-information you should have either stayed out or posted 'none of your business'.

323
About 35,000 +/- 5000

Well I'm impressed. Quite an improvement in 6 months.
Back in December you posted in a "Best Day Ever Thread"

$25.65 from a total of 2356 files online. Fairly happy with that day.

I signed up so I could look at the real numbers - that was 6 hours ago and still haven't gotten the verification email to log-in.

Currently unavailable here - still... but frankly I really don't care.
They ruined it with the last update  - I don't expect this one to make it any better.
And it's going to be the same old tired threads, no meaningful discussion.
Just a gussied up way for SS to continue to ignore the real issues.
