I've been taking some of my favorite images/vectors and making them in to traditional animated clips. A lot faster to produce then vectors. So it helps to have something else to submit while I create new vectors. So far I only have animated clips based on neon lights. I hope to make more varieties of themes in the future. But will stick to simple animations for now, even though I am capable of creating more complex ones.  :)

I guess when they have many choices of cows to milk not to mention, to have that attitude, they see artists as poor stupid livestock.  :P

Its a Canadian company. Plus its small. So it equals uncertainty. Just like the way weather is predicted and reported. Like everything else around here.  ::)
Then most of the people who grew up here leave if they can, ie the brains of the operation.  What is left, you can guess how the country is run. Meh! ;) ;D

Probably faster, easier and can get more stuff in one sitting. If they can get away with it.  Saves them all the hard work we go though making honest work. Reminds me of Pirates which reminds me of frigate birds. A type of sea bird with a ruby throat who steals from birds of paradise. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frigatebird

I'm curious how you output your files in ProRes if you're on Windows? Is there some software that converts it? And... if there is, surely you still need the Quicktime codecs for it to work?
http://crookedpathfilms.com/?p=312

Thanks for that. You learn something new every day! I'm assuming you'll still need to have the Quicktime codecs though? Although the security issue, from what I can tell, is with the Quicktime player itself, rather than the codecs. Not sure if you can install the codecs without the player, but seems like a decent work around if you can. Thanks!

For an alternative, QuickTime files work quite well with the VLC media player.  :)

General Stock Discussion / Re: Sick of getting crumbs

I work at a photography school and we tell our students from day one that the world is not waiting to discover them, photography is one of the most popular hobbies on the planet and many amateurs deliver better work than some so called professionals.

In any creative profession - music, painting, dance, acting, the majority dont make it to full time income for a family status.

You have to work crazy hard to stand above the crowd.

Exactly! You can't just be a mindless sheep and just be a follower. Just to be satisfied with watching paint dry on the wall. Besides that's boring.
You have to have an imagination, you have to want it, you have to show off your work and not be afraid to do and best of all strive to be unique. But that doesn't mean you have to look desperate. You definitely don't want that.
You have to be like a smart colourful parrot and sometimes squacky parrot even if it may annoy some people in order to stand out.

As for hard times its everywhere.  You have to work all that much smarter and harder I guess. Even in freelancing some providers of jobs try to offer peanuts for your hard work. There are poor suckers who take those jobs but that doesn't mean that you have to. Just hold out for the jobs that are appropriate for you and that pay honestly. The rest will come.  :)

You will probably get more help to any questions if you get rid of that annoying flashing signature ;)  I just close the page without reading it.

Got a better idea. Just right click on it and choose block image.
There. Isn't that better.  ;)
Besides I need it to advertise.  It is part of the clip art industry after all. :) ;)

But oh well if no one wants to help or can't with my Twitter issue, I suppose I'll figure it out eventually.   8) I'm use to it. sigh.......

Thanks. I've already reset my password when I found my account locked. But sadly still waiting for the techies to get back to me.  :( Going on 2 weeks now. Well, getting there.

Just so annoying Why should I be forced to use a cellphone? I don't have one nor use one. Don't wanna contract, don't wanna pay fees. Can't afford it anyhow.  :(
Sigh........

Not sure if I should send another heads up?

If that's really the case, that really bites.  :-\
Shouldn't it be that if you purchased the original on disk, you should be able to use it as you please? Since after all you own that copy.  With the exception of not using it as intended of course.

Locked out of my Twitter account. Very frustrated. Been waiting for over a week to resolved this since I don't have or use a cell phone.  >:( Still waiting for the techies to get back to me. Yeah I go there for some entertainment est but I also use it to advertise my latest various offerings of artwork.
I wish there was some alternatives to using a cell number to get a simple unlock code.  ::) Gurr.
Sigh..........  :(
So if any one knows of anything like an alternative to the use of a cell phone, it would be very much appreciated.  :-\
Thanks.

If you have the original on disk, try a fresh reinstall. Then go to properties and maybe dial it back to an earlier version of Windows. There are also other things you can dial back in the properties too.
To go to properties, right click on the Illustrator thumbnail then choose properties. There you should see things such as earlier versions of Windows. Try messing around a bit till you get Illustrator working decently. Should work but some things may not work but its usually nothing important that would make your program useless.  :)

Love your Martian landscapes. Very cool.  :)
Also they let you have your own logo or is that a premium thing?
Just curious.

If you have illustrator and PhotoShop. You have a good start. You can start with a vector of yours.  Make sure you have all the objects you want on separate layers. Then you can prepare and actually animate in PhotoShop. From there you can assemble the various animations in your favorite movie making programs and then bring to market.

I only just started selling simple animations as well. Only have one to two kinds so far out there.  Still waiting for a sale from those.  :-\

« on: February 29, 2016, 23:11 »
I found that gradients are a problem when you open them in illustrator.
If you would like to check if the InkScape files open in Illustrator, get a demo version of Illustrator. 8 to 10 version is fine.  :)

Panthermedia.net / Re: My Vectors!
« on: February 28, 2016, 23:13 »
Still not really sure what they want. All of my vectors have the same name as the JPG's.  I always load up the vectors first then label, then upload JPG's so I know what is what because there is no way of knowing otherwise. Wish they would write a better email and other.  Maybe this is a generic message to all of their providers with just your name put in?
Do you think they're going to remove them or something?
If yes that's a bit stupid.  ???

« on: February 14, 2016, 18:11 »
Nope.
Are you uploading lots of them all at once?
That could be the problem.
Only upload up a few at a time. Images should be varied and unique.
Research is needed.
But then if its alright with you could we see a few samples please?
It would help to see a few.   :)
PS not interested in coping, just would like to help.   :)
