Hi Martha - I agree with the others about your logo - how would it look if you isolated the bird so it was all against a white background?
Hi Solphoto - welcome, I don't think you need a totally niche portfolio for Symbiostock, mine certainly isn't !

You can find the more recent ones if you use Wordfence

On the submitter side I doubt enough people would be willing to go exclusively with the Symbiostock network to worry them - they don't care about submitters we are a renewable resource although if everyone did it or even a large majority we would become successful as clients would have to come to us, that would worry them.
On the other hand when (not if) we start getting a regular stream of customers, especially if we can entice the bigger buyers then that would start to worry them, big companies worry about finances, not people.
Can you just imagine if everyone built up their own sites and on X day say a year in the future went exclusive for themselves ?

As mentioned above I did not like the look of the text on BulletProof that said you could be locked out of your site, having experienced this with another site I ran, so am relieved I let someone else try it first <insert evil grin> .
There were specific instructions on uninstalling BulletProof not just the normal method - hope you have found that. Good luck on getting it sorted and sorry I mentioned it in the first place. Hope you get some good pictures today

Hi Russell - I was going to try and register on your site but unable to (can't find login form for one) and when I click on a picture to get to it that way it tells me, I don't think you have a contact form either ? Content Encoding Error The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. PS - seeing one of your hobbies - have you tried cheese and ham or chocolate and raspberry ? I made both today, we have lots of raspberries so thought I would try something new with them

Female: Yes I can, in fact I am doing it at the moment having a conversation about growing asparagus with my husband while typing this. Not if it requires a great deal of concentration though such as with me, numbers

Look at BulletProof Security? XSS is one of the things they say they cover but it looks a little complicated and capable of locking you out of your own site as you have to do things that get around that. Having previously been locked out of my own forum I will let others look at that first

At least you see what I mean, I am not going to keep giving examples until I touch on one that works Are you being outnumbered by women today then ?

... but if it is that person's treasured possession or something they have spent a lot of time working on then it can be just as hurtful as referring to them personally.
For instance if I said your elf picture is all wrong and you had spent two days solid planning, shooting and working on it I would expect that you would be hurt, but if I said that doing your elf picture is all wrong because you forgot to/missed out/included/whatever that would be much more constructive and help us both because you would have my opinion, which may or may not be right and I would have looked at a picture deeply enough to learn something by critiquing it. That last bit has made me realise what I am getting at - constructive criticism is useful, criticism for the sake of it without any explanation is destructive.

In my culture it is offensive to say: "You are stupid" but not offensive to say: "That codeline you have done is stupid".
Being English I feel insulted by "Brittish undertones and pretended politeness/ poisouness " but shall ignore it and get to my point. I feel that it is also offensive to say "That codeline you have done is stupid", but not offensive to say " I feel that codeline is stupid because ................" and give a specific reason or even better to give a detailed and specific alternative

It was merely an idea to compensate the developers. Obviously, from what I can see people like to take but don't want to give back. Again, my apologies to the people who did, including you cclapper.
I would strongly suggest you read though ALL the posts, especially the early ones when new versions were being tested every day and then see if you can still "obviously see" if your above comment still stands, let alone people who have donated to Leo along the way. What has happened recently, everything was so smooth - well, maybe a few hiccups and friendly with everyone helping each other, the last few days seem to have got somewhat prickly

I do like your BBQ tagline.
Most of my images are in multiple categories - and at the moment most of my editorial are in transport and travel as well rather than being totally separate

Brilliant - and thanks - glad to be of help. The trouble with help pages is that you have to find the right question to ask before you can find the answer and that takes a lot longer than the fix!

Can you send me your function.php file? I am not sure what I am doing incorrectly.
Do we have to use "==" or "=" to compare?
I think you have broken something - you do not have anything on your image pages but the image, title and little smiley face showing something is wrong

I have not voted because I would want to know more first. How would central payments work? I think we have already proven we cannot agree on a EULA so how would a decision be made

The only hope is that a group of 5-7 strong entrepreneurs take over and start from scratch. When that happens, Ill be all ears.
This is what I cannot understand, why wait and see if someone else does the work, why not initiate it yourself ? Who is patronising who here? We become professionals by learning, mostly by experience. Everyone starts off as an amateur in just about everything and if you are already a professional then why not do something positive instead of keep saying how everyone else is not doing it to your standards.

Hi Russell Think I have the answer - under the ~~~ is the bit I found on Justhost but did not understand most of it so did the bottom option, just hope it does not change anything else In my php.ini I changed sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -ito sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i -f'user@domain.com'Change user and domain to your own details ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Just Host Web Hosting Help Scripted E-mails appear to come from username@just###.Justhost.com Problem: Why do scripted e-mails come from < username@just###.Justhost.com > when I have specified otherwise? Solution: This is because our servers require you (or your script) to use a properly formatted, valid From: field in the email's header. If the From: field is not formatted correctly, empty or the email address does not exist in the cPanel, the From: address will be changed to username@just###.Justhost.com. You must change the script you are using to correctly use a valid From: header. Examples of headers that should work would be: From: [email protected] will work From: "user" < [email protected]> Examples of headers that will NOT work: From: " [email protected]" From: user @ domain.com From: [email protected] < [email protected]> Our servers will not accept the name for the email address and the email address to be the same. It will not accept a double declaration of the email address. If you do not want to edit your PHP based scripts, you can modify the sendmail_path line located in your php.ini. You would want to modify it like this: sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i -f' [email protected]' The part that you will be adding is: -f' [email protected]' This method works because the php mail function calls sendmail (a program on the server) directly using the path defined in your php.ini. Placing the -f flag here allows us to work directly with sendmail without PHP getting in the way. Passing a "From" header to the php mail function will override the -f flag set in your php.ini. For scripts such as Joomla and Wordpress, you will need to follow their documentation for formatting the from fields properly. Wordpress will require the Mail From plugin.
Note: The email address you use must be a valid created account in the cPanel.

Thanks for explaining then. That was your message from the beginning.
In the meantime, definitely let me know where you find code that's not secure.
Secure is many things and not always what we think.
What if you died and what if bluehost died or what if you work for bluehost? who controls the code, and who can pull the carpet. who is who? What if one of the shop is actually an istock employee? What if suddently a shop appears with 2 mill pictures? for free? what if paypal closes? what if someone copies a shop 200 times? What if one of the shops is not a shop but an ID theft machine?
If I died - I would not be there to worry about it, details are available to my next of kin If Bluehost died or my host died it would be somewhat inconvenient but not a catastrophe I do not think anyone can now pull the carpet from the individual sites, we would just go independent if anything went very wrong Who knows - we have to trust sometime Does it matter if a site owner is an istock employee 2 million pictures for free - just shut them out of my network and assume everyone else would do the same (after checking to see if anything useful there) If paypal closes then much of he world's sites would also shut down What if someone copies a shop 200 times - no idea what you mean, you tell us How can a shop be an id theft machine, they do not get much personal information What about you getting constructive instead of constantly belittling everything everyone is doing. Try leading by example if your method is so utopian, you don't need to be part of a network to use Symbiostock you can go it alone and once you have done that and shown us all how to do it your way then we will have something to listen to. At least the rest of us are actually trying something positive ~~~~~~~ I thought Leo's diagram was funny - should have continued with defibrillator and fly leaving happily with picture though
