I earn lots more than $600 a year with them and have never been asked.

It is my understanding they do not worry about it unless you are earning $600 a month.

ha ha ...

It is interesting ...

Been keeping tracks of about a thousand people on DT. Since it has stats like how many in a portfolio, how many sold. Each month I do an evaluation of how things went.

This 0.17 per image online at DT is an interesting equation though.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Dreamstime review time
« on: July 31, 2008, 17:39 »
the time is approximate based on factors such as time of the week, and the queue in front of you.

It is best to preload at Dreamstime and then release a few at a time. If you load 50 by FTP and submit 5 a day, by the time you get to 40 or so the review time will be almost immediate.

Preloading locks your place in the queue.

Really bizzare that. You are so close to $500 a month at Shutterstock, yet you have only sold a total of 20 images on Dreamstime?

« on: July 29, 2008, 17:11 »
Regardless of the theory. Fact is my facts. My portfolio has increased significantly at the same time as my revenue from the site. From a statistical perspective I figure that is a problem. And I am not responsible for marketing Dreamstime. I think they have an issue with their marketing.

Overall their sales may be increasing. But from what I have seen the major contributors are actually recording the same downward trend as I.

wicked. just logged in after being motivated after seeing this thread. I just got a $20 sale so earnings for July so far $33

BME this month.  DT is a tough cookie to increase sales for me, though.  I got stuck on the $100/month mark forever.  So glad I could finally blow that away this month - it took lots of new uploads :)

Does not add man.

You have 1101 files online and only 2296 sales. Even at $1 a pic that averages $69 a month. If you are doing better than $100 a month it must mean you sold very few over the years and are only now getting sales.

Over the past 18 months my portfolio at DT has increased by 63% at the same time as my revenue has decreased by 45%. Currently I have 341 images on line. Based on this, I predict that by the time my portfolio is increased to 500 images online, I will have 0 sales.

Very weird. Each month my portfolio increases at DT and each month the sales decrease.

You will only need the tax certificate if you actually ever sell anything there.

343
Like I said. I give up on them.

And now they have this annoying keyword wiki where people who cannot speak English complain about your keywords. Just had "trolley" removed from an image of an isolated shopping cart.

344
So basically all the new contributors have to take the punch for the garbage their current contributors put on the site.

Sounds courageous.

345
In 18 months all they have accepted is 3 images from me. I have practically given up on them.

I think you have to put that in context , how many did you submit in that much time?

3?   ;D

180

346
I think we are all selective about what we upload. Yes about 2% of what I shoot is uploaded.

Few are rejected for technical reasons.

With regards to Alamy, I have never been accepted, and I am * sure what I have uploaded for QC is a hell of a lot better than what I have seen on their site.

347
I cannot understand DT and never will. The review times are meaningless as they are a guess.

They came on this forum a while ago and explained that if you load pics, they are given a number which is a priority. So you could wait a few weeks and then keyword them. That way you pick the images from the back of your queue and got them reviewed quicker.

But lately something has changed. I had pics sitting there for months and started to keyword them. They sat "image under review" for weeks and the ones I loaded immediately got reviewed before them.

Go figure.

I prefer the option of loading pics, and then keywording them as it suits me. That way you can have an idea about which reviewers are working and load the pics to suit them. Otherwise you waste your time and have to reload them hoping to get a different reviewer.

Hey it is good to hear some of the sites let you do that!

I lost everything last week. External hard drive and internal hard drive. 15,000 pics gone.
