The guy who used to work for P5 started this thread back in 2013 by asking "what should we improve?" which was legit question. He got some very good answers and views that can help company, if company is ready to listen. Nothing wrong with this thread, these guys live on our hard work by keeping 50% for themselves and should be grateful too.

funny how you serious producers with spreadsheet calculators an percentage bla bla are still considering shutterstock a good agency for video. They may sale a large volume but the profit/downloads is on the low end. P5 and Videoblocks are in my top.
And let's not forget the fact that Videoblocks launched its marketplace in spring of 2015. So their success is massive!

Marketing hasn't cost me anything. I've spent most of my time on search engine optimization and in the past month I started to promote it through social media. I'm planning to test paid search with Google, Facebook and maybe Twitter starting in the next couple weeks.

I think it is a good analysis in many aspects, it is obvious that adobestock needs to be refined. He is also pointing out that adobe is the biggest change the industry has had and they have so much money they can potentially become the largest marketplace if they want to.
............
But in the end, all we need is more sales. If you are indie it does not matter so much which agency it comes from as long as people keep buying your files.
If you have decent portfolios everywhere, you can sit back and relax, while the agencies fight it out.

This is HD 1080P timelapse . Just checked, so P5 recommended price is at 43 for HD. however if you put the option on let P5 decide my price them it starts at $10
Ahhh that explains it. Why on earth would they do that? I wonder if others really are relying on that function and that's why we see so many $10 HD clips. If I were you I'd pump up to a higher range. Why P5 does that is a mystery, perhaps they want a selection of cheap seat prices. At least you caught it and can do something about it. I have never used that function, so it is nice to know how it works now.

I just start to shoot the video for stock agency and no idea how to choose which stock agency to join. Which one is the best footage selling stock? Pond5,SS or Istockphoto? I heard the price in Istockphoto is quite low as 0.XX USD ,is it right?

I recommend Pond5. Doesn't sell often, but you get 50% of the price you set. If you do travel, I also recommend Alamy.
Total waste of time to upload photos on P5. If anything they sell at all, they sell videos.

P5 allows email communication with buyers/contributors via P5 web site. So be careful what you say as they can clearly see it. (this in case you try to make better deal outside of P5)
AND in general be careful what you say on forums too, as they can clearly put your files in not-that-good-container and therefore jeopardize your sales and of course vice versa, well behaved contributors will be pushed ahead, for sure.
Only super naive can believe in their "we-love-artists-fair-play-bs"...it's all marketing, crap one...of course!

And it was a miracle!
