Congratulations!

I can remember a beautiful day when I sold two photos for $125 each. But I did not have 140 yet.

Yes, that's right.

still the most boring poster on this forum. no one cares what you have to say mate. give it up,

This statement is wrong for me personally. I am interested in what Pete has to say.
Your rude comment, on the other hand, I'm sorry to read. Too bad!

Got a 3000$ sale yesterday, feels a bit over the top in terms of high sale, previous record was 600$ a couple of months back.

Any idea what kind of license is that?
editorial clip, not exclusive (the file is still live on site and on other sites as well and I was not asked to take it off).

42,500th... beat that!

Well, I'm sure the ranking refers to the downloads. For contributors of videos, the ranking should have no meaning.

September was my WME. The downloads were normal, the RPD was abysmal!

But Last month was even worse. October was normal again in terms of downloads. But the RPD has dropped again. Now October is my WME.

I have 3 images rejection today. They are images about only roses, but AS need PROPERTY RELEASE. Do I need model release or personal property for rose image?

We have already had the topic of roses in various forums. There are breeders who have their roses protected by copyright.

This can be about the rose itself or just the name of the rose.

I am around 200th for the week with around 1000dls (don't want to be more specific or discuss portfolio size)

1,000 per week is fantastic! Congrats!

How do I get to see my weekly ranking?  I've changed the stats to weekly and monthly downloads but no ranking appears.  Am I missing something?

Go to dashboard - in left top corner you will see Time Frame dropdown menu - change to "This week".

Thanks.  I am 1810th this week with 209 downloads which is reasonable for my portfolio size.  Clearly there are still many artists making good downloads and money at Adobe.

Good Numbers!

May I ask how big your portfolio is?

5562

These are then very respectable figures in relation to the portfolio size!

At 7 dls for the week today and weekly rank has gone down to 30,600 which makes sense because average #dls/day has gone down.

Must be a wonderful feeling to make 100K downloads - and 1,500 in one day - I'm blown away!

1,500 in one week, not in one day.

I Mistyped : 1500 in a week is amazing! Congrats!
How many images do you have in total?

You asked the wrong person that question. I can only dream of 1,500 downloads a week. And I don't even have the imagination for that!

The question should be addressed to HalfFull.

Anyone know how long the review turnaround is these days at 123RF? I uploaded over 2 weeks ago and still nothing.

Usually they need months! But in the Last weeks they were very quick. A few days.

For the week of Nov 7, I have 6 dls and a weekly rank of 28,200th, which is a higher # (and therefore further down) than @justanotherphotographer who's had 4 sales and is ranked ~20,000th for the week (or did you include your lifetime rank instead?) but ahead of the person with 3 video dls and $68+ earnings, ranked 30,000+ meanwhile I have very low average earnings, only $4.23 for the past three days.

I confirmed these are sales from Monday-Wed, 11/7-11/9.

Will check in at the end of the week.

If there are really 465,000 contributors or even 200,000, this puts me in the top 5 or 10% for # of dls which means the average microstocker must be earning even less than I imagined, since I've always considered myself small fry (729 images, rejoined when Adobe bought Fotolia). I guess most contributors upload a few files and don't do anything else. I think at one time ss said that 80% of contributors never licensed a single image.

Busy with so many other things I haven't grown my portfolio this year, though I did upload some png files and plan to upload more.

The adjustment of the weekly ranking always takes place with a time delay of one day. On Sunday, you see the weekly ranking, which is based on the numbers of the week up to and including Saturday. Since many contributors have no or only a few downloads on a Sunday, the weekly ranking on Sunday is the most realistic.

9 downloads yesterday, my weekly rank didn't change today. I always though it was earnings not downloads. Does anyone know?

Two questions, Diana:
- Have 24 hours passed?
- Do you have a very comparable number of downloads today?

My weekly ranking changes every day.

I am very sure that the ranking refers to downloads and not to revenue. This would also fit with the analysis made by Robert, which is exclusively about downloads.
Moreover, the old Fotolia ranking also referred exclusively to downloads and this was initially continued at AS..

Over 24 hours, what time does the update  change? More downloads today, rank is downloads.

I don't know at what time the figures for the weekly ranking are adjusted, Diana.
Has your weekly ranking changed now?

Yeah!

In 2019 there were nearly 465.000 AS contributors - based on a research of Robert Kneschke. I could post a link to this research but I don't know if I'm allowed to do so.
I don't know how many contributors there are now. And I don't know how many there are active.

Some rough current data:

Roughly 20,000 contributors have about 10 or more downloads per week.
Roughly 7,000 contributors have about 50 or more downloads per week.
Roughly 5,000 contributors have about 75 or more downloads per week.
Roughly 3,000 contributors have more than 100 downloads per week.

Of course, the numbers fluctuate between better and worse weeks, e.g. because of holidays or after Christmas at the end of the year.

Interesting stats, cheers!

In Robert Kneschke's analysis from 2019, it can be seen that only 261 contributors had reached the sapphire ranking (more than 100,000) at that time.

If the overall ranking is based on the download numbers, you would have had at least the overall ranking of 261 with more than 100,000 downloads at that time. You are now at 564, which would mean that the number of Saphir contributors has more than doubled since 2019.

A few numbers from February 2019:

Total downloads/position in the overall ranking

4.700 / 8.000
8.500 / 5.000
28.000 / 1.400
32.000 / 1.200
67.000 / 450
120.000 / 200

The figures also agree quite well with Robert's analysis.

Early 2019:
Weekly downloads/position in the weekly ranking

10 / 10.000
50 / 3.000
100 / 1.000
250 / 350
350 / 200
400 / 170
500 / 140

Well, the doubling of sapphire contributors wouldn't surprise me, but I'd say its a lot more. This year there's been a big improvement in volume... Those weekly downloads / rank are way off now. The weeks I've hit 1.5k dls in a week my rank was 120. Just wished I was at that volume all the time  ;D

For a weekly ranking of 120, about 550 Dls per week was enough in 2019.

1,500 per week is brilliant! And beyond my imagination!

Well, at least you know one fact: you know that (only) 563 contributors have sold more images than you.

Sapphire is defined as having more than 100,000 downloads. Since I don't know how many downloads you have exactly, I can't judge how many Sapphire contributors there are.
I guess around 600 to 800, but you can judge that better than I can. Because I move in the Emerald area.

It worked for me. All my files can now only be downloaded as a premium licence. No more PLUS images.

I also exceeded the 10,000 downloads on 123rf today.
That's modest, but still contributes a percentage to my total sales. And that is more downloads than I have e.g. on dreamstime.

But never before have the revenues been worse than in 2022 on 123rf. It's getting less and less every year because the RPD and the downloads are going down the drain.

Would you be so kind as to post your weekly ranking again on Sunday evening when the week is over?

Do we know that the week is the last 7 days or the last calendar week? The graphs look that way, but do we know? Nov. 7th is the week, which is a Monday?  :o

16,750th and the week hasn't been anything special. If I get some more DLs I'll try to remember to check again.

25,100th lifetime - keep in mind I only rejoined when Adobe bought them, I don't have many images and no video.

I don't pay attention to rank. Personally it means nothing.

I think its a rolling 7 days but not 100% confident on that. Lifetime 564, week - down a bit at 400 but varies between 119 - 800 depending on the time of year.

I find the weekly rank accurately reflects the amount of of dls ect where as the lifetime rank seems to relate / respond to earnings more.

What makes you think that the overall ranking could be based on revenue rather than downloads?

I've never asked myself that question, because I've always assumed that the weekly ranking and the overall ranking always refer to downloads.

There I am already a little curious.

Whereby I must admit that alijaber is of course also right with his contribution to the topic of videos.
