I was accepted very early but I don't like their reject reasons. Very Veerish. They just like overwhites in studio, very unlike STX. In fact, this not at all STX any more, for those that suffer from phantom pain.
This is funny because we have the same reviewers and same rejection reasons we used to have on StockXpert, especially in the early days
If isolated images are what Stockfresh wants, than my applications probably won't be accepted

Unfortunately (for us), most sites show series of most popular similar images from all photographers rather than similar images of the same photographer. It's because they really care just about their profit, and the profit of particular photographer is not so important.

1. artifact
An "artifact" is a little thingie that makes big problems to people who submit images to Istockphoto.

Hooray, I just got my first sale on SF!
When I checked out which image sold (garden variety image of a football) I also noticed that the site automatically showed other images in the series beneath it. What a very pleasant surprise! Can't tell you how many hours I have spent on other sites grouping images into series and linking to them in the description. Stockfresh doing it automatically is a huge timesaver, and a great way to give everyone the same advantage of multiple sales in a series.
Congratulations Peter! I continue to be very optimistic about Stockfresh and the folks running it. I am happy to give them the time and support to succeed!
Cool! Congrats Lisa! And grouping of images is a great idea too.

All my EL prices on FT are 20 credits... How to change all on maximum...?
I tried to put on 50 (10-50) but after update and refreshing picture page, EL price was again 20 credits....
Write to the support and ask them to set it to 50 for all your files. And even then, it may look like it's only 20, but it just looks like that to you. For buyers it will be 50. But when you upload new images you have to add it manually for every uploaded image.

I don't know about the other sites but the August slow down has been consistent for me. I guess that Gostwyck was right about the European holiday habits. Blue collars, people with small kinds tend to take holidays in July. The white collars tend to take holidays end July-half August, partly to avoid the crowd. I guess buyers are in this latter segment.
Trust me, the biggest crowd is from 15th july to 15 august. And prices are doubled in that period

I sent them a message... but I guess they already know for this problem.

I would write to support of every agency. It helped with one of my images that needed a property release..at least reviewers thought so. The image was accepted without PR after contacting support. You could also mention that you plan to upload whole series of images with the same doll.

The same here. Ranking is fixed, and since my port is small sales completely disappeared. Sales on DT are better. I didn't compare it with SS tho.

DF... every time I think I've found the simple answer to instant riches, someone comes along and says something sensible and logical and spoils it. OK... scrap the screwy white balance idea... I'll just have to go back in time instead.
lol, that would be quite awesome.

I think the 19,000 sales proves she got the white balance exactly correct.
My thoughts exactly - if those sales are what you get when you get the white balance wrong, I'm going to start screwing up my white balance from this day onwards
The white balance is off and you can see it by the color of the skin (if your monitor is calibrated). And this image has so many downloads simply because it was one of the first decent looking (and maybe even the first) image with a child blowing a dandelion. After this image, you will see tons of similar images and some of them are much better. But the photographer of this image simply had a great idea. You can now make similar images, but they will never reach this number of downloads (well, maybe if your image is really great and you wait several years from now). White balance which is slightly off is not so important for buyers anyway. Smaller number will buy the photo and really do some photo manipulation with it. Bigger number will simply buy the photo and stick it in the column of the magazine. They will simply trust the the stock agency, and just crop the photo in the way they like it.

I'm a full-time photographer but only half of my income comes from stock photography. Should I consider myself a hobbyist or pro?
A pro

The pool results are pretty much as I expected. Most of us are between 30-50 and amateurs. I was expecting more people between 30-40 tho..

Actually, I have to agree with him on this one . I've always thought the color/wb was off on that image and can't figure out why it sells so much.
That's exactly what I thought, but I was afraid to tell. The face is too dark too

160 views and just 22 votes... come on guys!
It's because only 27 users are online, and those 27 are checking the page from time to time...like I do

There is no real control over most things that can be easily duplicated, especially if the duplicate is lossless.

We'll get used to it, and eventually accept it. Most of Istock's innovations were never fail to meet the expectation, like Vetta or the increase in price not long ago. So we gotta be positive on this one too. For now let's keep encouraging more buyers to the site in anyway you can
HI yogysic! This is your first post. We love when new members introduce themselves to the community first. Nice thought tho..

Thanks! BTW, the poll is a great idea. I was asking myself the same question for some time already. How many amateurs and pros we have here, and what age.

I consider pro someone who makes their living off of microstock. This day and age, that is very difficult, but there are ones who do it.
There are only few photographers here who make their living only out of microstock. So, the poll will show mostly amateurs. Maybe it would be better if we say that "pro's" are simply people who live only out of photography business, and amateurs the rest . This way we could see what percent of real photographers we have here.
