Newbie Discussion / Re: Shutter stock rejections arrgghh

They are doing some very stupid rejections. They rejected my maximum content saying similar, when they are totally different.

Frustrated with them.

« on: April 06, 2020, 01:48 »
For some reason, my sales are up since the Coronavirus situation started. Had my BME on SS in March.

Wow, thats great to hear, I am facing terrible month here.
What kind of content do you have in your portfolio?

5000 is a good level to set it to I think. Most people who do this full time should be able to get around that. It would be very hard for anyone doing this a as a part time gig, but it's a big reward so that's fine.

The 150 target is nice and generous.

And I checked my downloads.. and yes, I have already qualified it. Waiting for the code next year.  :D

Haven't done any new images in about 3 years (only video) and they sent me the Photoshop license... :o

Please share your username so that they can correct their error.  :P

General Stock Discussion / Re: Shutterstock vs Adobe Stock

Believe it or not I make more on 123rf then Adobe.

I use to buy photos on Adobe but they removed the credit system, forcing a subscription plan so I started buying from DT.

great, 123rf is very lazy in selling my work :D

They are rejecting with no logic.
I am 100% sure its AI system. They are making the system learn on their own to enhance their intelligence.

I have multiple times asked them regarding rejections but no one listens or takes action.

I am seeing less download this year.
Can coronavirus be one reason behind this?

Very slow here, and even my antivirus detected a Trojan while loading. Leaf, you need to look at this asap.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: December 2019 Royalty Stats report
« on: December 19, 2019, 22:22 »
The downloads for November are showing.  If I go by just sheer number of downloads for November, it's going to be a BME.  But you never know with them.  I'll make more popcorn. lol

Happened to me. Few months back, I found download numbers great which build lot of excitement.

But when the real stats came out, getty showed me finger.

Reviewers are most likely paid per image, so they make twice as much money by mass rejecting everything and then mass accepting when you resubmit.

That is a valid point if reviewers are real. I sometimes feel they are bots.
Either way, if they continue this way, things will go against them.

Still they are rejecting almost 80% of my content saying similar.. I wish to cry.
Cry, not bcoz of my rejection, but with question on how can such a good company do not wish to listen to contributors and update their system.

Missing fresh button is good news for me. I have a copycat that releases similar illustrations within days of my own releases. I want to see his expression now ;D

That's a cute revenge.

But, we actually need fresh button. Without it buyers and sellers both are in pain.

I am seeing consistent growth with AS and very happy with them.

They are playing with AI in their system. I submitted the rejected content again and it was again rejected.. I submitted again and now accepted... strange..

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Is contract termination now?
« on: October 31, 2019, 05:04 »
Where is the cheating in the other 250 images totally produced by me?

Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh but seems like losing out on 250 images is hardly going to lead you to "have some financial difficulties and I am using image bank earnings to help pay some bills." Relatively easy to start over.

If SS closed my account with 10k images and nearly 1k videos I would lose out big time and they did threaten me.

I see, your account is still active... When did they closed it? and what they said to threaten you?

why cheat? My images are 100% my authorship, was damaged because of 3 or 4 images. Where is the cheating in the other 250 images totally produced by me?

Are you high?
What are you even saying? It doesn't matter you produced 250 or 25k, all you need to do is not to violate copyright. If it was due to 3-4 images then why you did it?
I saw those links, and it was of some debris. Do you have any idea what it takes to shoot such shots. Author might have traveled and must have spent some amount to get it.
And you, on the other hand sitting in front of computer, took it out and did the manipulation and now selling.

375
Not sure i believe that.  My older stuff generally sells more than newer.  Its fairly common as well for an older image thats never previously sold to suddenly come to life.

Confirmed. Even newer stuff is better in terms of image quality and design, but sells very badly.

I disagree here, this month by far has been doing very well for me. And my new stuffs too sold very well.

I am glad that it worked for you! Really!

There might be some algorithm change as SS always gives a shock surprise. :)
