P5 allows email communication with buyers/contributors via P5 web site. So be careful what you say as they can clearly see it. (this in case you try to make better deal outside of P5)
AND in general be careful what you say on forums too, as they can clearly put your files in not-that-good-container and therefore jeopardize your sales and of course vice versa, well behaved contributors will be pushed ahead, for sure.
Only super naive can believe in their "we-love-artists-fair-play-bs"...it's all marketing, crap one...of course!

Your answer should be no. Simply no. How did the client get to you in the first place?

I'm not sure if it increased the total sales at pond5. It seems like everybody's complaining the sales hasn't been growing since the introduction of the public domain free clips. If the overall sales hasn't been growing there, they should consider pulling out the free public domain clips from the site to see if the sales will grow.
Any opinion?
Public Domain is P5 CEO's baby ( ) so therefore pulling out public domain clips will NEVER happen. btw...I do agree, that should GO and they should form a proper sales dept to chase some income.

How do you define inferior product?
I define it as NOT providing buyers with the same features and services that other agencies do.
Shutterstock offers a paid service for their agents locating media. So, if I don't have time to do the research on clips for a project, I can pay them to do it. And they do a GREAT job of it. Pond5, for certain clients, will do the same thing for free.
Correction! P5 does NOT offer this kind of service at all. P5 does NOT have sales department, sales agents, nor presence in the richest markets - UK, Canada and Australia.

I don't see the problem. Just ignore the above and your prices will stay the same. It's not in the contract so not our responsibility. Unless they are taking the time to go through each contributor's ports at other agencies.

The idea that buyers shop around on individual ble pieces of content to find cheaper prices is a fallacy.
How do you know? There is only have anecdote. Based on my own experience I would say that people do shop around. Internet savvy people shop around when they are buying almost anything today. Partly it will also be about trust, payment convenience etc.
Sure, it's anecdotal. But I've never seen a buyer with an account at X location go to Y site for one piece of content because it is $20 less.
I would, I do it all the time for airfares, cameras, lenses, etc... Hasn't Alamy said they've given refunds when someone found an image on a micropriced site before? If you don't want dissolve to license your work cheaper then don't license your work cheaper. I think Fotolia threatened this before and in the end they just created DPC and now Adobe does the same by pricing lower too.
Corporate accounts are set up by a business office and the users are told - Buy all of your stock images at [insert stock company here] because we have it set up that way. I'm talking the big guys, the buyers of many images a month. The users in the company have the site bookmarked, they go to that site for what they need and if they can't find it within the millions of images there they are told to find something "good enough." It's a hassle to buy an image elsewhere without having to go through management approval of a new site, setting up an account and a method of payment, etc. Big buyers work within a system and don't have the time or the desire to look elsewhere. I know, I work at one of those companies (5000 employees). They don't all buy stock images, but many do. A site is chosen, an account is set up and that's pretty much the end of it unless you want to wait a week for approval to buy elsewhere.

If what you mean is more that we don't advertise Pond5 enough in general though, then I'll see what I can find out about our campaigns if you like. We have a whole marketing department, and a budget for advertising, so I know we are doing those things. But I'm in a different department, so I don't know the details. If you're interested, I'll see what I can find out and what I might be able to share with you all here.

Hello. Is that a normal rejection reason? I mean i'm totally dissapointed of Pond5's communication. Here's the story.
I never been asked to upload an ID or do anything regarding verifying my profile. Now i got a rejection of my last series and i decided to write to a currator. As i submit music to other platforms as well, i know that some stock sites has an option to ask for a second review. So i asked currator if i can get a second review. Then after two emails talking with the currator i got a message from him that my tracks were likely rejected (quote): "because we couldn't vet your profile". What the.. Why do i hear it for the first time and from a currator and after two emails and after i wrote to hime myself first??? Is it a normal communication of Poin5? Shouldn't pond ask for a verification in a normal way? Now after i write to a currator, i finally hear that i need to send him my ID? Is it safe to send my ID scan to a person? Wouldn't that be normal to have an upload form?
All in all, i feel very dissapointed. Almost 200 tracks here on Pond5 already, and all this situation is now so dissrespectful..

Just got a 59.70 sale of a 4K clip although im not sure if this is the 4k commission or an HD sod/el or whatever.
Has anyone else got such a commission since the price change to verify this?
SS is 30 percent which is 59.70 of $199, so very likely a commission for 4k.
Yes.Remains to be seen whether 4K sales will grow and whether the growing of discounted 4K sales will yield a better revenue in total.I have my doubts.
