And if you sign up for a year to see how things go, what statistics you get for your money etc, they set up a Recurring payment - automatically - which you then need to stop. Grrrr..... There must be better options for more arty pics.....!

Not meaning to hijack the thread, and I know that in the past I have solved this problem BUT.....
having sent a low res pic with my watermark for community, where do I go to add a high res one for sale? My low res one has gone there.....!
500px have just sent me to their info page which seems to be out of date - or not resemble mine, anyway.
Help appreciated.....

"...Oh I wish it wasn't Christmas every day-ay-ay-ay!" What do you mean, it isn't Christmas any more?

Thanks Roede-orm. I may give it another try...given the rather dire situation at SS I'm looking for other options! I'm less fussy than I was! Still manfully resisting DP.....just!

Amazed anyone ever managed to sign up let alone sell anything!
I tried to register - said a field was missing when it wasn't. I couldn't send an email through their site mail for the same reason. And no other email address available.
Not impressive.
I gave up.

Free attracts free and it's there in the name.
Need a nice flower print for a gift for a friend? 8 x 10, maybe with a nice frame, is perfect. Need some stuff to sell on Ebay etc? 8 x 10 is pretty handy. I'll try a half dozen, for starters. Need some pics to decorate my new B&B? Ok 8 x 10, even with a frame, isn't huge but - hey - it's not bad and the price is good. I'll have 3 per room......
Sigh................

There is now a tickbox for jpeg illustrations that needs to be indicated (bottom left, main screen). This is on the new version of Deep Meta, avaiable for download now.

Just upgraded Deep Meta due to the new Illustration ruling. Seems we have now to put keywords in order of importance now. Tedious....and I wonder what happens to those from before...... More work......! Anbody else?

For goodness sake, Canstock - there is a clue in the name FREE art. That isn't exactly going to draw in paying customers, now, is it? Just undercut. This stinks. I used to consider CS fairly fair trade. Now? ??

Thanks both. Really helpful. I'm not at all sure if it is for me, but I'm just considering options.... Nice point about the internet. Ours is really slow but I hear there is another provider now in our area with a better ie faster deal. I am seeing him tomorrow. Did the spec of my camera sound good enough? If not, then that is a showstopper in any case and I won't waste any more time!

Hmmm...have you tried finding anything useful on the SS forum lately?

Ok, sales of photos are fairly stagnant. Something needs to be done. I could upload to a squillion more dodgy/small sites to get a bit more action. Or there's footage which could be worth a try.
BUT...how to begin?!!! It seems a completely foreign and confusing world.
Any advice for real starter info on settings, (cheap) software, resolutions etc for stock?
I have an OMD EM5 which I gather does this: 1,920 x 1,080 (Full HD / 1080i), 1,280 x 720 (720p), and 640 x 480 (VGA) recording AVCHD compression at Full HD and 720p resolutions, or MotionJPEG compression at 720p or below MOV file format for AVCHD, AVI for MotionJPEG I understand virtually nothing of this. Is even my camera ok? Help much appreciated.... Google has not been my friend to date on this!

I have an artist friend who paints and draws. Fine Art America was attractive to her. Pixels just sounds like a photo site (and then not very upmarket). I don't know if she will go with Pixels, but I wonder how many non-photogs will be put off, like her, by the name. Shame.

I'm afraid the next SS step will be to push low tier contributors up in the search!
I think they already have...though I guess it could get worse! Happy days......!!!!

(((( SS is WAY down on this time last year and with dilution like it is, I see little chance of gret improvement. Other generaly slightly up but nothing to sing/dance about. So bad, in fact, I'm even thinking of restarting uploads to DP and BS despite feeble returns and other issues. Just to get the most out of microstock while it lasts.......sigh......

"Wont people get bored of uploading if they don't make much money?" Clearly WE haven't got bored....YET.....and the squillions of photos being accepted each week means that lots of people are not just joining but submitting and getting photos online, so I guess they aren't bored yet... but for sure it's not a good sign. No wonder new images get so littie traction....

Seems Alamy is now a distribution partner for Eyeem. Any thought what this will mean in the real world for Alamy/contributors?

Extract archive? I downloaded the zip file from your site. Nothing opened. I found what looked to be a likely Exe and ran it. If I ran something from a wrong directory it was just because that's all I found!

Ta! I downloaded from the yellow button on your site for Windows. When I clicked on the Dld file I got file called (more or less) Cpix q t 1.1.3.
In this was a list of subfiles - starting Bearer, then Dict. But nothing installed.
So I transfered these into a file on my computer, found an exe which looked hopeful, and the screen did indeed appear as per the demo - but when I tried again (can't remember quite how - set up the icon) - I got that error message.
I'm not tekky, as you can gather.....!

Instructions looked good - bit tricky to actually install, seemed to be many stages but eventually got to see the screen. But now I just get a mssage Qt5core missing. Ideas anyone please?
