Adobe Stock / RAW will soon need a different GPU
« on: September 28, 2023, 07:54 »
A bit off topic but have yet to see an answer elsewhere.
It seems my laptop will soon not be able to use RAW - or parts of it. I did manage to get a message that my GPU was partly compatible or something - but despite updating it (again) it now just says accelerated GPU has been disabled - again.
So how do I stop Adobe updating Raw and/or CC automatically and effecting stopping me processing photos in PS please? A new computer is not really what I want to hear. And neither is 'use Affinity'. :(

Adobe Stock / Code for free PS being requested - again?
« on: May 26, 2023, 02:16 »
I have free PS through the contributor scheme until c July 2024, having redeemed the code we were given some time back, but the request to 'redeem' this has again appeared in the banner on my account.
Has this happened to anybody else?
My Adobe account shows that the code is valid until 2024, and if I try to redeem the code again, it says that the code has already been used.
So why the request to insert it again?
Just a glitch?
Anybody know?

but now they are looking to make 'more improvements' to the contributor experience. Great joy.....!

iStockPhoto.com / Istock acquires Unsplash
« on: March 31, 2021, 11:45 »
Does anybody think this could remotely be good news for us? From Unsplash:

Unsplash is being acquired by Getty Images

Im excited to share Unsplash is being acquired by Getty Images today.

The reason Im excited about this acquisition is because its not goodbye, its about acceleration.

This is not one of those tech acquisitions where the company is bought to be shut down. Unsplash will continue to operate as a standalone brand and division of Getty Images. The entire Unsplash team will be staying and building Unsplash in the direction we have been. The main difference now is we have access to the resources and experience of Getty Images to help accelerate our plans to create the worlds most useful visual asset library.

In 2016, we first met the Getty Images team. We werent sure they would see the world the same way we did given their business was largely built on licensing. Over years of conversations, however, we learned about the level of respect they had for the Unsplash community and the rights of creators to choose how and where their imagery is made available. Craig Peters, Getty Images CEO, told me, We have so much admiration for Unsplash. What youre doing for creativity and what youve built is incredible.

It also became clear we shared a similar view of the world. The impact of imagery has never been greater and will only become greater in the future. And we both aim to push that impact further than anyone has ever done before.

After interacting with the team at Getty Images more and better understanding their long-term vision, we realized we shared so much alignment that going at this together could be much more impactful than going at it separately.

Canva / Random payment generator?
« on: February 12, 2021, 05:09 »
So - does anybody know how the 'subs' part of our income is being calculated now? Clearly no longer double March. Seems a random number just....appears....
Did I miss any update?

Shutterstock.com / SS sales January
« on: January 27, 2021, 10:27 »
Wow!
Unless there is a miracle, it looks like I will be almost 75% down on January 2020 (and 2019).
Obviously with the ripoff Levels change I expected a drop - but down to one quarter of last year?
Amazing. :(
And none of the other sites even begin to make up the the slack.
:( :( :(

Adobe Stock / New Rank in Adobe community - but why?
« on: December 11, 2020, 10:17 »
I've not posted anything there since last May.
Obviously, it's a no-reply email so I can't just ask Adobe directly.
Anybody else?
Should I be suspicious?

General Midstock / Unable to get 500px to stop 'selling' my images
« on: November 17, 2020, 05:00 »
Another sale for 7cents today. It is at least MONTHS since I asked to disable all Marketplace sales.
Anybody know how I can actually get 500px to stop 'selling'?
I did think about completely disabling the port, but I guess it also exists - probably forever - in a Getty subfolder somewhere and/or China.
?

VideoBlocks / Hacking in progress?
« on: October 10, 2020, 03:24 »
I closed my Videoblock/Storyblocks account some time back. But now keep getting Verification codes in my email to access 'my account'. I am not trying to access my account...

I have tried to contact the site but no reply....the Verification codes keep coming....

Just in case this info is useful to anybody else. Just doesn't seem normal to me.

Payoneer / Payoneer- Wirecard.
« on: June 27, 2020, 05:18 »
I gather there are problems with using Payoneer cards thanks to dodgy accounting, it seems, at Wirecard.

Does this matter to us?
Is it best to use Paypal for now, where possible?
Even just for Payoneer accounts where money gets sent directly into bank accounts?
Does anybody understand all this?

Alamy.com / RM Exclusive
« on: May 29, 2020, 02:26 »
I have some RMExclusive images on Alamy. Mainly more arty stuff. It tends not to sell!
So....
Can I also put these images on POD sites eg Fine Art America as well? Or not.

I would ask Alamy but they are closed for Covid. Sigh.....

iStockPhoto.com / Silly question but....
« on: May 21, 2020, 04:20 »
I have had a bit of hassle with my computer just lately!!! :(

But I think I may have got DeepMeta working again :) so have sent up a couple of test images. :)
However, they have not yet appeared anywhere that I can see them.... :(

Now, I never used to worry about this since the system worked brilliantly and I never needed to know! BUT...

Does it take days for uploaded images to appear on the AdobeStock site? And when they do first appear - can you tell me where this happens, please, so I can check what is happening?

Thanks......
