Yes, apart of the rain I also heard it is a nice city. I must admit I know a guy from Seattle, so it is not so unusual to know about the rain. We were also halve seriously thinking about moving to Seattle in a couple of years, who knows :)

Even I as a German heard of the rain in Seattle, must be horrible  ;)

I must say I am quite dissappointed from IS. While except StockXpert every other agency seem to go up, downloads decrease every month for me at IS since January. This month really is bad.

I agree with hatman, although I wish I would get an image in the final selection I doubt and do not have much hopes that a non exclusive will win. However I must say the last years winners images were very well the award Photo/vector of the year worthy.

Here is another of mine: http://www.stockxpert.com/browse.phtml?f=view&id=15903921

Actually I think comments are not important. Views and downloads count. Keep in mind it has a much better effect on new images. So feel free to check out the image :)

How about critique? If someone wishes he could also say what he might think will improve the image. (In this thread not on the comment section)

« on: June 17, 2008, 11:42 »
In the middle of July.

I think its great, but I do have one concern: Subscription will become more attractive for the buyer as with Stockxpert (BTW now its StockXpert's turn to increase subs commission :) ). However I am happy that DT gives us a raise in Subscription, without themselves increasing the price for the buyers.

Adobe Stock / Re: US Petition to improve FT subs model
« on: June 14, 2008, 15:12 »
It is good that they raised the commission the second time, better than if they would have sticked to the first raise. Yes communication was not all that well, but now they do not have the worst subscription model anymore. From the big six their is one- two which are worse that Ft's model. For European photographers Fotolia has the highest subscription payout (apart from istock). So for me it is currently the second best model. And their files are limited to L which no agency prior has done. Of course it does not come close to iStocks model and does not excuse the lack of communication. But this is at least a compromise between agency and photographers and a better move than to do nothing.
There is one thing which would be nice, not for me, but just a move in the direction to restore trust. Make opt out optional for all. The very most will not opt out, as happend with StockXpert. And I will not as well..

I saw that as well, but only in searches with many images. If you search penguin it is not so. However, I am trying out with keywording a few images with only 7 keywords. In general I am doing now slightly better after the search engine change. Usually I have as well 15-20 keywords.

I finally read this thread.  Sounds interesting...

I think for sjlocke we need a count under the gauge: how many times he made the full circle :)

No I am not an art student...
I do not feel as a professional photographer, but somewhere I read if you make your living from something you are a professional in this area. It pays tuition, rent and food. However it is not so important for me if I am or not.., I was just curious..

Hi guys,

We've been running numbers, but it's still to early to tell if any definite  trends are forming around this. By the end of April we will have a better idea of knowing whether or not, on a whole, subs are cutting into credit sales.

If credits sales go down and subs go up, StockXpert also loses out, so we definitely are monitoring this closely. Lately we have been running an aggressive credit marketing campaign and look for a couple other changes in the coming weeks that should help boost credit sales.

In the meantime, I will follow up with tech on the unable to opt-out issue some of you are having.

Thanks!
-Steve

So Steve, are subs cutting into credit sales?

Sorry I cannot change it anymore. I also just noticed in Leaf's Polls up there^^ there is rating of the upload system.
But I think it will take a little longer to see if yay micro can catch up to 123 RF in the upload rating. So I hope this poll is still in the readers interest..

Ichanged it to submission process/workflow

398
Since we are all so excited about Yay Micros Upload system  ;), I am interested if it really has the best upload system judged by contributors, or is it another agency which has a better upload system.
