Well this prompted me to completely redo my site. So thats what I have been doing for the past 5 hours. 

Well, at least they are doing it the right way, by making it so higher resolution downloads get more commission. The question remains though, what will that commission be? Until that gets answered, criticizing or praising this move is premature.

Even though I am a submitter, I have purchased files from iStock. Most of what I have bought has been flash files for my website since I know nothing about flash. No other of the big stock sites offer that. Plus it is real easy to buy credits with your account balance.

About 5 months for me.

Sales down a lot over last month. But I have a small portfolio there so just ebb and flow I would imagine.

Encouraging news. They just uploaded all of the images I sent them on a CD. That was easy enough.

Submit the EPS as one file and the JPG as another file? Like what you have to do for Shutterstock if you want both.

For our sake, I hope SXC never closes. There are a lot of really good artists over there, who create images that could easily be accepted and sell well at StockXpert. Imagine SXC closes and a good chunk of the people who are SXC-only artists come over to StockXpert.

Buyers may come to StockXpert if SXC were to close. But a lot of good competition would come along with them.

Aside from that, I do think that many SXC downloaders eventually try StockXpert. That is exactly how I started out in microstock. I was downloading images for small design projects from SXC, then saw some even better stuff at StockXpert for very affordable prices, then realized that I could make images that would probably sell.

I doubt that would even make a dent in competition at StockXpert. Certainly a large portion of those that submit to sxc are already on StockXpert anyway.

In case you don't already know what StockXpert.hu is.. it is basically like stockxpert except all of the images are free. They have twice the traffic that stockxpert has and 351,000 images online.

Now imagine if sxc.hu were to close/merge with StockXpert. Having double the traffic that stockxpert already has, this would certainly mean a huge increase in sales even if only a small fraction of the traffic signed up.

What is the reason for keeping sxc.hu even open?

Just food for thought.

Earnings up 12.2% from January, making February my new BME overall.

Amazing how 42 images at Istock made me almost as much as 255 images on StockXpert and beat all others except Shutterstock. It was a horrible month at Shutterstock for me, I didn't upload anything new so the sales were down down down. All other sites did very good for not uploading anything new. Very pleased overall.

Well, at least they are still showing effort.

I will never understand why people will work so hard for a 20% commission, especially from a site that has such low sales.

Uploading to Crestock is really no work at all. If you use IPTC you really don't have to do anything other than upload and press select all > submit. By far the easiest site to submit to in my opinion. Well worth it, despite the relatively low sales. (Still better than LO, CanStockPhoto, FP, and SV for me)

I haven't had a problem with their reviewing, all seems fair to me so far. Other sites reject a lot more of mine than they do.
