With the occassion of reaching yet another milestone (oh well) I wish them to impose weekly upload limits, like istock has.

are you serious? over the years people complained about IS slots or am I wrong?

I am very serious.

can you elaborate? ;D

they are down or very very very slow, cannot open "My Images"

buyers perspective seem ok :)

Let's not forget Yotola's basic intent: Get lots of free images to fuel click-through and display ad revenue from their advertisers. It is not to compete with microstock agencies. It is to supply low quality images for low quality uses by unsophisticated users who value "free" over any other feature. And with low quality images (brilliant quality in their minds) suppliers will be satisfied with any payment no matter how low. It's more about recognition than renumeration.

actually the video is confusing on that part, first they say they are looking for the 2/3 rejected by stock agencies, then they talk about high quality pictures to drive more traffic, if they aren´t willing to try and get better contributors whats the point of building this "new" model so close to previous free sites..

Hardly any sales this month but the few are good ones.  RPD highest ever.  Will be watching closely (of course) to determine whether I am in RPD or RPI camp.   8)

I am with 19 sales which is incredible low, my max there is at 74/month, after a BME its quite depressing..

I don´t see any problem regarding leaf changing the title of this thread, I am not deffending Yotola but it ain´t a scam so it would be unfair..

sure it can hurt microstock if it goes live and contributors join, that said I also don´t think togs/illust will accept this deal, perhaps the ones that have 80% rejection rate around all top agencies which aren´t living out of stock income but even those will punish microstock..

Portugal my friend!! :D
Please do not forget, I'm German...  ;)

ahahah that said I believe German is an incredible team but perhaps the draw was more fair, its past, best of luck to both ;D

3860
Acceptable performance of Germany. Devastating performance of the Netherlands.

Would have loved to see more games of the Dutch (with a better performance of course). 0 points after the first round... Ouch.

Portugal my friend!! :D

I never understand when people start talking about something "good" and then shut up, not only here but in everything :D

whats the point really??

in the end if we were all that smart Tyler could close this forum ::)

when you have tons of sales and money you will drop the name of it for us? seriously what sense does that make? please keep it to yourself like I do sometimes but I don´t come here and say this or that...

p.s: just found it, not that hard :D

3862
Wow.  I just noticed that Art of Business Cards, Mostphotos and Red Bubble are each earning more than Fotolia for me this month!  Even the t-shirt printing company I only started submitting to in mid-April has earned more!   :o  That's seriously pathetic.

willing to share that t-shirt printing company?

ahah crap I forgot ;D

3864
It's pretty clear that both sites are punishing top sellers because they make too much money when their best selling images sell.

Do you have proof for that thought? I was not able to understand how you reached that conclusion? In my experience most stock agencies consistently tried to shift earnings from newbies to pros...

I am sure stockmarketer will answer this very well like he always do but I believe you need to read more often here, top contributors are reporting this down trend for a while, I believe at least 4 or 5, don´t think there are that much emeralds too, that said its incredible how you are still having nice earnings there, you always had actually

just saw a movie I was wanting to see for a long time and it is pretty amazing, glad I remembered of it today!

its a great story (based in a real one), very interesting movie about the life of a quadriplegic that hires a "crazy" man to help him 24h a day, its a lot of fun but it doesn´t let the fun get into the story, its a beautiful movie, stunning music too in the right moments, I am sure it won´t dissapoint you guys, guess the imdb rate does speak for it this time but not always, I am more fan of rottentomatoes

The Intouchables!

Well, of course they're dangerous, trying to put another nail in the 'hey, everything on the net should be free!!!' coffin.  We did free.  We started at free, and pennies.  'Free' tells people they need not worry about misusing the content or model likeness.  'Free' says 'this image has zero value'.  And more.  There's plenty dangerous here.

And it's also a sub site, likely paying less than anyone out there.  Hell $299 for 750 at SS is basically free.  You want to encourage people to leave SS for the site that bills itself as the home of 'rejects and crap work'?

I haven´t said the opposite, I dont appreciate the FREE too, I told them that along with my opinion about how it can damage stock agencies and our income, I haven´t told them that I would jump into their ship, I was only getting to know their business model and they seem pretty open and honest, thats said I repeat that I don't enjoy their concept of free, will see when it is online

guys had a long talk with Yotola and it ain´t a scam, they are open to hear everybody concerns, go ahead if you have any doubts or other, that said it doesn´t mean I will contribute but needed to say they aren't dangerous, at least I haven´t got that idea, kind and communicate actually! :D

On the broader topic of helping others - as you all probably know, I don't mind doing that. I learned from others when I started, it is unlikely that someone will find my stock photo examples so incredible that they will copy them, and so I have continued blogging, promoting my book and generally trying to be helpful. I've no idea if it hurts me personally, in the wallet, but it probably makes me feel good!

Steve

I understand once I had the exact same feeling while I was blogging my earnings, milestones, tutorials, tips or other.. BUT the fact is that they will open accounts and some will do "well" and most certainly it will hurt your income, yes not much but you never know..

like I have said I don't think they will do very well, from my blog I would say I got around 100$ from around 2 and half year blogging (126 posts) on referrals

p.s: you need to cut your nails ;D

That video is one of the biggest loads of nonsense I've seen.  I wish I had the time to make fun of it piece by piece.

With regards to the site, as mentioned on the video, the revenue will be from advertising and subscription.

If you have any specific questions, we have live support on the site, or you can contact us on skype.

We look forward to hearing from you.  :)

are you talking about the one that doesn´t answer you??

"did Mark Hall help you?"
no he haven´t answered me!
"shall we punish him?"
yes!

so it has been hard work to get to this point -  processing, keywording and uploading images each week. Nice to get to their highest tier though and now I look forward to basking in the well deserved income from all these ventures!  ;D

Each week, hah! try each day bro ;) I hope you don't get the issues I've been getting with reviewers, very exhausting, as if I don't have enough work already. SS rejecting best selling work, DT being picky about similars and IS rejecting composites. Soon I'll have to built a seperate port for each agency ::)

Like I've said, it's because of guys like you and Louis (to name a few) that I find the courage to keep on going in this business, I thank you for that.

Have a good weekend fellow contributors.

don´t say that or other contributors will get us in this topic :D

that said I believe I have stopped posting in my blog because of competition, after reading some big/top contributors in this forum it got to me, we don't need to train new corners, I have learned "everything" alone so if they want they can pursue it too :)

the more we get our "space" we certainly don´t want to get back so we need to cover our back! (sorry for the redundancy)

Exclusive 'Artist'
Portfolio Number: 695

June Downloads: 2
June Royalties: 9.95$

Woww Yay  8) 8)

I'd suggest diversifying from the 'window washing' theme as it looks like your old sellers are doing fine.  No need to do more of the same.  Also, textures are never big sellers.

even with 4 or 5 more subjects, leave IS or stay ;D
