Badstockart has to buy images for the blog from now on. This is what they posted last.
"Well kids, we finally received our first scary legal email from one of our favorite places to find the best stock photography garbage. We had to remove many of our classic favorites. Its sad, we know. Well have to start licensing all of our junk from now on, like this junk here."

I have place it as no people, then will see thanks!
I was in the same situation. I had a beach with unrecognizable people, and I asked Alamy support do I need a MR> And they told me I gotta have a MR, otherwise, I have to delete the image.

I think even slight variations in face expression can decide which image will buyer want to buy. Sometimes two similar images of a smiling woman can look very different if one smile looks fake, and the other looks more natural.

I had nice earnings posted in my account at Zoonar last month (01. Judy 2010). But this month I didn't have anything. Actually, I had one sale posted yesterday, but that's nothing comparing to last month. Anyone?

... That's how it usually goes. Old stuff still sells - new stuff gets buried...
Don't say that. It makes it look like as if there is no more money in microstock
lol Ok, well, it's not exactly like this...always, but often it is.

Oh, I forgot to say. I had similar problem with one artist from Deviant Art. Her work is always a derivate from stock images and her own images. She also sells those images. At least she always gives links to the artists who provided elements for the image.

Many people think that image they bought on microstock becomes their image in every way. So, they can do what ever they want with it, even resell it with some minor touch-ups. You said you don't want to show us an image. That's OK, but I think even if you show it to us, and even if someone steals your idea, your image will still oversell very newly uploaded similar image That's how it usually goes. Old stuff still sells - new stuff gets buried...

No comment.... It looks like you don't need an authorization from the photographer to use the image in commercial purposes...

He said that "Palm Springs Walk of Stars" is a copyrighted name. I think you can copyright the name, why not? NIKE is also copyrighted, right?

I asked him precisely what is copyrighted. Is it the star in the square, or the logo with a palm tree, or everything. And he answered that copyrighted are the name "walk of stars" and the palm tree logo. Which means the star in the square is not copyrighted. I explained to him that I want to sell it on stock sites.

I contacted Palm Springs Walk of Stars, and they answered:
Hello Ivan, Thank you for your inquiry. The logo of the Palm tree is trademarked with the name Palm Springs Walk of Stars. Best regards, Kevin
So, the star in the square is not copyrighted. So, I gotta contact all stock agencies to enable my file.

I didn't have any combined MR at 123RF, but this is for those who had: Dear Contributor, This serves as a notification to inform you that from now on, all submitted model releases must be scanned, uploaded and attached separately for all your submitted photos. This is to help facilitate the development of our new and upcoming search option which will be launched anytime before the end of this month. If any of your releases are currently combined (a few releases scanned and uploaded as a single file), your images will not be visible or show up in searches once this search option is launched. Hence, you must separate them as individual releases and reattach them again to your images currently on 123rf to ensure the accuracy of your images when searched. Example: An image has 3 models. DO NOT scan and combine all 3 model releases into 1 file and attach it to the image. DO scan and upload EACH model release to our release section. Then attach the releases to the image separately. Your co-operation in this matter is very much appreciated. Thank you. Regards, [email protected]

There, I surprise myself everyday
Your image (without a flame) is the most downloaded image of a child with a dandelion. I personally saw it of a huge wall in a shopping center in San Jose, CA. I am not sure if it was Westifield Valley Fair, or West Gate shopping center.... But the image was over the whole wall in the hallway...on the second floor I think.

You can still write to Fotolia support and ask them about this. You could also provide links to images of the sistine chapel they sell. Then you could tell us what they said. It could be interesting to hear their opinion on this.

Reviewers should take the time and check these things before they accept or reject photos. I know they don't do it every time, or at least not all reviewers. Also, it's photographers obligation to check it the property is protected when they take images. When we upload the image, we actually claim that our image doesn't need property release if we don't submit property release with the image. Reviewers are here just as a control, but they can't check if every single image they review needs property release. (In theory they probably should do it, but they don't do it always) That's why I erased my image of a star from Palm Springs on all sites where it was accepted.
So, if you are sure your image doesn't need property release, find the info about it on internet, and resubmit images with a note to reviewer.

As far as I know the term "isolated" was always used on both types of images, with a shadow or without it. I guess it's more correct to call images without shadows isolated, but I know that many contributors, including top photographers, say "isolated" for both types of images.

I really like Ivan's circling vultures. Great concept! And they look very similar to the vultures in my area.
Thanks! The images are taken in Carmel-By-The-Sea, California. Those are turkey vultures.

Here you go, vertical lines straightened, colors and contrast added, branches on the lest and right removed, and shadow on the bottom lightened up. I didn't crop it more than I had to due to straightening vertical lines. You can crop it more.

I thought about that Lisa, but I already deleted it because all stars are from Hollywood. There wasn't any star from Palm Springs. I was searching internet to find some info, and then I remembered that the square with a star had small "c" in the lower left corner. I cloned it out. Strange how I did it automatically. I had those Hollywood stars in mind and I was sure I am not making a mistake.
I am also pretty sure the only problem I could have in future is the request for deletion sent by copyright owner or stock site. But I deleted it anyway.
