I sold a P-EL this morning on DT - 50 credits, level 0 image (25% royalty) and I netted $8.57. These were apparently heavily discounted credits - 68.5 cents - but even so, this brings home how much less DT is paying us than they used to.
Buyer pays $34.28, DT keeps $25.71 and passes on $8.57 to me. Back when credits were a flat $1 and we received 50%, DT would have paid me $25 and kept $25. The buyer gets a deal, DT's take is unchanged and the contributor gets the short end of the stick.
Pretty general description of how contributors are treated by microstock agencies at the moment. Depressing.
Pretty accurate description.

On DT i have 7 sales on my soccer field (has not sold anywhere else). Today i found out that an image of mine has sold once on 3 different sites. Maybe soon it will give my soccer field a run for it's money. 2 pics -- 10 sales. Not as good as most but it shows i'm starting to get noticed at more sites.
Drinks are on you then!

I want everyone to get their doomsday predictions out of their system so we can make this forum more constructive again with more positive threads!
A noble intention, to be sure. However, I think that the negativity in these forums is likely to continue as long as the agencies keep lowering conditions for contributors.
You know the old expression "Don't (pee) on me and tell me it's raining".
Haven't heard that expression; but with the agencies it's more like they pee on us and try to convince us the sun's shining.
Where they stand, the sun is shining and when they're peeing on us they're oblivious to the fact that they're casting a shadow.

I'm veering more towards funny than offensive, but they weren't really funny. The thing that made me laugh was reading this, "These are the DSLR clueless - all the gear and no idea. Remind you of someone? Share it with them, click the 'share' button." I think Sony might ruin some friendships. The links under the videos go here https://www.sony.com.au/productcategory/nex-camera"E-mount NEX cameras deliver professional DSLR quality images in a compact form, with interchangeable lenses available to suit your shooting situations."

Every one in USA focused on the election perhaps? If so, should return to normal now.
Are our earnings largely dependent on the USA? It will vary for everyone of course, but according to my ss stats at least, my US source income always falls between 15% to 25%. My sales on dt have been doing better since September, with no change so far me this month.

it's bad enough that half of my sales are sold using 2010 subscriptions (people hold credits for 2 years? and not just a handful, half of them?) but I'm finding this levels system hard to understand.
There should pretty much be only 2010 credit sales these days, it's to do with the year of the last major change with how credits work (I have no idea of the details). So if someone buys credits today and then downloads your images, you will see (2010) beside the credit amount on the image earnings page.

your website is pretty bad for a company that "supposedly" does web design..
it looks visually bad for a company that does grahic design..
your logos aren't even logos..
on the other hand, even if they were all great, I would be ashamed to have someone else's vector work in my portfolio..
and even if you paid me, I wouldn't display your vector work as mine..
Can you stop beating around the bush and just tell him what you think.

That's great to hear. I often hear of people having their images licensed after being found on Flickr. No such luck for me yet, I often have people asking me on Flickr if they can use my images for free.

Another amazing thing about this story is that the face in the ad actually looks like Leaf, the owner of this forum. Quite remarkable.

"He who walks in another's tracks leaves no footprints." (Joan L. Brannon)
Unless they've told everyone in a forum of their plans.

The Charlatans: They fool you into thinking they're great, they sweet talk the reviewers too. But once they're in, they reveal their true nature and buyers turn their backs on them.

I deactivated my images there after the last payment. Really don't like the way they do things!

Plus, there's the added fact that one never really knows if the boastee is actually telling the truth, or just blowviating.
I got 20 Els this week on dreamolia, I requested payout on Tuesday and still haven't received anything. Just tried to contact support about it via the site contact form, spent 20 minutes trying to get past the captcha, eventually made it, then the site went down. Think I'm better off flipping burgers

Well, I am impressed that they will payout the $12 at the end of a year from closing an account.
I'd be even more impressed if they'd just PayPal me the money they owe me now instead of drawing interest on it for a year and making me ask for it again. Call me old school I guess.
First time I've seen an ms site set a rule that contributors have to wait a year for something. I think after a year, they're virtually assured that most people won't request the money.

Hi There Luis We noticed that you still spend a lot of time in this forum. This means that we have failed. As a small incentive we will credit your account with between $5 and $100. The longer you spend away from the forum the bigger bonus. We look forward to not hearing from you. Kind Regards The entire msg community

I won't waste any time even trying to figure this out. The layers of obfuscation and indirection in pricing and "commissions" are now beyond my comprehension, which of course is exactly what DT wants. Something to do with cutting prices and reducing commissions. Who knows.
I'm becoming convinced that only SS and Alamy are still worth submitting to.
