I've just shot and submitted some images of a memorial of quite a famous person. The statue is new, so I'm wondering what is the chances of it being accepted across the sites. I read somewhere that that old memorials are OK but newer ones are copyrighted. Will soon find out anyway!
Have you had any experience of this or know the position?

Well done indeed! You deserve a big pat on the back.
Now off you go and get plenty of sales!
Congrats!

I'm not a heavy uploader, but I do keep track (notes) of where I submit images so as not to "double upload" the same image.
Could be a bit hectic OK if you submit to a lot of sites. At the moment I'm seriously concentrating on just four agencies.

Makes you wonder if the search had been working properly for all this time, how many extra sales we would have had!!

Gawd! This has been ongoing a long long time. Surely there must be a mechanic in the house!
Put in a "search" for one quickly!

The only thing which concerns me is they have gone quiet on the boards. Admin was pretty active prior to the open date, and just after. But since then, hardly a peep. It would be nice to hear when they plan on pushing the site.
Yes! this is quite noticable. It certainly wouldn't hurt to reply to some posts as this is the time when contributors need some re assuring!

Thanks, I will! I actually couldn't resist and did a last minute upload of about 50 files. We'll see how they fare...
Don't blame you. That should get your earnings balance off to a flyer!

One of my top selling images is predominately RED. As in photography, on a search page it pulls the eye in.

With patience in short supply these days and contributors anxiously looking for return (and rightly so) on their work from new agencies- How about the next "Start Up" site?
Will you be diving straight in and uploading your full port or adopting a "Wait & See" approach? The thing is, new sites need to build a database of images and most of that has to come from us the contributors.
Personally, after some experience of much wasted time and effort on previous start ups, I'm now firmly in the "wait and see" camp.

Congrats Nemo!
I like the casual approach - was similiar to mine - If rejected so what, there's always another time! When I had a go, I just gathered up quickly what I thought was my best and just fired it in!
Anyway, Great news for you and a real boost.
Enjoy your holiday! ( on a high)

I have stopped uploading at FP a while now. I mean no sales in 5 months says it all!

It occurred to my that not only a portfolio better not be tiny, but also it should be diverse. Images of the same type may fall out of fashion, there can be to many of them already .....
I think it's not all that difficult to reach the 150 mark, specially when contributors upload variations on a theme where you see many images only very slightly different. I agree, a diverse portfolio covering different subjects will ensure that you show up in as many searches as possible and thus have a better chance of regular sales.

Fred - I do see your point and it's valid, but mass rejections can really dampen the spirit. One has to question why this big turn around at FT, when before quite a lot of images were accepted.
In the long run and even short run, I think it will shy off new contributors.

I previously had a lot of images rejected but surprisingly of late I'm getting a good run!
Touch wood!!

Nemo, that is enough to put off even the most hardened Microstocker. I dont know what the game is, but it's not nice.

Velvia, I had same experience.
Had to delete all images manually. When they wanted submitters all was fine - when you want to leave they don't want to know you!

It's shaping up well this month. With any luck should be better than June!

As an add-on to the recent thread posted by Whiz, do many of you use "Copy Space" (if relevant) in your list of keywords. I suppose it's a big help to designers, but do all sites allow?
