Leo - not quite a bug, but could the author page's URL use the Author's nickname field in the WP User area, rather than the unchangeable username field? e.g.: this is my author page's url http://thpstockphotos.com/author/infotimhester-com-au/because my it's using my email address that I signed up with, and WP doesn't allow me to change this in my user options. But this really has no relevance for my author's page. Plus i'd rather it not be on display. Instead, can it be our user profile's nickname, so I could make it thpstockphotos.com/author/tim-hester which is much more relevant for SEO plus better for how each user wants it. Is this possible, as I really think this needs to change? BTW - Feel free to grab my CSV from that link above if you want to link to my site anyone. I was a bit slow getting into V2 so I seem to have lost some linkers!

Another nice initiative by you Leo, thanks. Name: Tim Hester (aka Microstock Man) Site: http://thpstockphotos.comContribution: Beta tester from version 1. Highlighted more annoying little bugs, feature requests, design enhancements and potential improvements than Leo probably would have liked MSG Profile: http://www.microstockgroup.com/profile/?u=19108

According to the little mouse-over help in Bridge, Headline is a brief synopsis of whats in the file, while Title is more like a filename.
I dont use any of this. Just use Title, Description, Keywords and copyright on the first Tab of the file information in Bridge/Photoshop, which I believe is EXIF, not IPTC. But I might be wrong about that.

Looking nice Leo! This next release should be great.
Just a thought tho - I think the <> arrows on the network search results need to be moved. Currently they overlap the images on the edge (far left and far right) but perhaps with some better spacing of results, the images could be moved in a little and the <> buttons be given their own space.

No interest to get pulled into this debate, other than to say how happy teams like Andresr, Monkeybusiness, Pressmaster, etc must be! Greatest competition gone. Their earnings will no doubt grow hugely on the back of this.
Who will emerge as the next #1 in microstock?

Yep, highest PP sales ever here too. The PP alone beat DT, FT, DP, etc.

In general I find it crashes around 5-6 minutes I think. 10 minutes - you actually did well! I don't think it's actually run that long before without crashing. Uploaded the file again, though I highly doubt that is it. It doesn't always crash when doing 15 images or so but it takes SO LONG. Then randomly it will decide to white screen me. It also white screens me occassionaly when on the image edit page to process them to live. Any way to have 2 scripts - one for bluehost that works like it used to, one for godaddy people (that is until they change hosts )

Did you change your script time btw? I thought you did.
Sure did, posted earlier in this thread: max_execution_time 600 max_input_time 120 is what it is now

Hey there. Do me a favor? Set me up with an admin account - and dropbox me some images that cause problems. Nows the time - I'm perfecting this thing so I can "set it and forget it" for a while.
Your existing account at my site should still work, I'll just change it back to an admin account now. http://thpstockphotos.comThere are no exact images that cause problems. I have retried those images and no problems 2nd time round. So its not the image itself, its the process thats running. Those images were just the unfortunate ones that were being processed when the script got funky and timed out or something. But my time settings in php are off the scale high and so is memory. So I'm scratching my head on this one. Can only possibly think its the IPTC stuff going on that is slowing it down, or something funky in the imagemagick script, as none of this was an issue a few versions back. I'll fix that account for you now. (EDIT - Done. Thanks for taking a look)

Still getting processing problems, even after upping those php time and memory settings.
Couple of items processed without even having an image show up, just keywords and title. And one image had grey lines for the bottom third of it.
Think processing still needs some work unfortunately.

Seriously spectacular! Thanks for sharing that. I don't know a great deal about video production - how many hours/days of post production was on that do you reckon? Seems to also be lens-baby type effects going on? And how do they get those super smooth time-lapsed zoom in/outs? Makes me realise that I am under using my D800's potential!

Making this change to photos as well would at least be one tiny step in the right direction, and would impact more contributors view of iStock than just vectors alone.
Do you think they are finally starting to get it? I mean, when was the last time we heard the words 'iStock' and 'contributor royalty increase' in the same breath?

*facehand*
Do people use *facehand* in forums?
Yes. By an amazing coincidence, you may find that if you watch your white-screen - it may just appear at about the thirty second mark.
Set it to something crazy, like 88.8 seconds. When this baby hits 88.8mph, your going to see some serious...
Anyway, glad you fixed the problem.
Ha, I'm so sad, I had to look up what facehand meant...! Not up with the lingo... These seem like low settings as default. I have changed them to what was in that link you posted max_execution_time 600 max_input_time 120 That look alright? I'll see how it goes. Cheers once again Leo FYI FOR THOSE READING - THIS ISSUE MAY AFFECT ALL BLUEHOST USERS, as these were the default values

Sorry, I think I updated my post just as you posted!
Yep I agree from everything I've read Imagemagick is technically better. And thanks for explaining the difference in how you've used them, that makes sense.
According to my Symbio Help tab that gives all the PHP info, my current, standard Bluehost settings are: (in relation to that link you posted)
max_execution_time 30 max_input_time -1
Any idea why Bluehost has -1 as its setup? If I change that will I break something!?

Is anyone out there able to use ImageMagick and process more than 15-20 images at a time ("process to drafts" button) without it taking 10 times as long as it did without ImageMagick and it ending up often with a white screen (using Safari)??
I have maxed out my memory settings in every place imaginable, and yes, the images do get processed, the white screen seems to be a timeout issue rather than a bug issue. But previously I could process 50-100 images fine, no problems, WAY quicker than I can do 20 now.
I'm just really surprised that ImageMagick is meant to be more efficient, as (sorry Leo, not trying to be mean here) nothing has seemed as efficient since it was introduced. But I have done some reading on it and EVERYONE says its better than GD, as Leo said.
So perhaps something else has crept in with the newer releases of the theme? Some other code/memory related thing, that has nothing to do with ImageMagick?
Are others having better success than me?

I'm using one on another site called GD Star, it seemed to be best one that I could find that actually uses the right hreview system for the google benefits, but its bloated and complicated. Add to that, Google has dropped the star ratings from my site in search results for some reason! BTW - It's not something I think is crucial, its just an idea

What icons do you mean? Nothing looks different on my iPhone 4.
Hey just a thought - have you considered implementing an (optional of course for each user) hreview system of stars? If implemented properly buyers could rate items and this would show up in Google results. Yes of course thats a HUGE double edged sword, but some may want it. And it could help SEO.
Its just an idea anyway. The only real plugin that does this is so clunky its terrible.

I have also experienced a HUGE slow down in sales at Veer. Despite my portfolio increasing. Doesn't look good. As for the new site Ryan talked about, I heard nothing about this before - anyone else? It seems not. I just looked and found this tiny little piece of info stashed in the Veer News section from February... "In all seriousness, Veer would not be Veer without you. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your enthusiasm, patience, top-notch content, and for sticking with us. 2013 is a big year - we're renovating and rearranging to make searching and buying a breeze for customers. There's other stuff in the works, so keep your eyes peeled! "http://www.veer.com/more/contributor/news/But seriously, who reads that? I am all for a new site upgrade, but surely this is news to spruik and tell everyone about via email, facebook etc. Anyway, I seriously hope this new site upgrade can start turning things around for Veer. I really liked them but lately they just seem to be falling flat.

ED's have slowed in last few months for me, but sales numbers keep on the rise, as do $$. Pretty much a steady, consistent growth that I'm seeing.
This month is a little lower though than the last few, but then they were BME's for me so I guess I can't hope for that every month.
I don't think it's time to panic just yet, but I do sympathise with those who have experienced more drastic falls.

Leo the change in size work now thanks:-) however after a change sizing it is very difficult to change prices as it has to be done picture by picture, would it be possible to add the pricinf in the quick edit? Cheers
Really? Can we adjust the sizes globally now in the admin section? So if we set a new size dimension in there it will reflect on all files? I hope so! And yep, +1 for the global price adjustment too.

My "illustrations" at P5 are classified as "vector illustrations". Is this how it works there?
https://www.pond5.com/illustrations/1/artist%3Asjlocke.html#1
Seems to be. All my graphics/illustrations, even though they aren't in vector format, are classified that way. Even some photos (background texture type things) are! Not sure how they are going to sort that out when they finally start accepting EPS vectors

Overall it seems things are running smoothly. I think what is needed is that FINAL version (you know, final enough to be out of beta) then make one aggressive bug fix thread so I can rest for a while.
The initial release was just enough to work at basics...it did not reflect what I had in mind for the finished product. This release will be far closer.
I think what I have to ask for is a lot of tolerance until the "big one" where I can finally just crush all the last bugs and call it good for a while.
Deal

Quit teasing with the BIG change!! So keen to see it! Yep, another big bug stomping thread will be in order no doubt. Google has certainly improved with the page descriptions, but it's still not what I would like it to be. I REALLY think that an automated way to predefine meta-descriptions is big must have. Eg: I could want mine to have "This is a photo of a cat" (image description from IPTC), followed by " - Royalty Free Stock Photo from $4" or something. Someone else might want to repeat the image title in the image description. Or who knows what. Yoast has the ability to do all of that, but it depends on the information being in the image excerpt section (as far as I can tell). Also, the other BIG fix needed is the 404's coming from the pagination issue we discussed. I don't think Google likes huge amounts of 404's on a site, so jumping on this one soon would be good. So....can I get a sneak peak at the big change now?? Surely you've got it running on a secret site somewhere....
