Yeah I understand what you mean. There's bound to be some bugs in new features. As long as it's on the to-do list Im ok with that. It's just frustrating to have something that was working fine now have problems - but then I guess thats your dilemma the whole way through this project! I'll be as patient as possible till you get to look into it some more Thanks again Leo, appreciate your help.

Was 25 that time, but thats close enough.
Thing is, with GD I could do 100+ without any worries. I'm wondering if the problem lies, not in Imagick, but in the way you are appending the metadata?

No luck. Still white screen.
Heres my code in case I got it wrong:
set_time_limit( 0 ); $reprocessed = 0; foreach( $post_ids as $post_id ) {

Thanks for the suggestion Leo.
Just to clarify, when you say it will slow down your site, that should only be WHILE the process is running right? As in, once it's done the image processing, everything should return to normal speed wise?

I've got about 900 images online now, if anyone is still looking to fill a network slot. http://thpstockphotos.comI think Leo said the next update will allow 10 networked people per site - will be interesting to see how that works. It will certainly add to our SEO backlinking efforts!

After processing, clicking on All Images just goes to a white screen. I have to refresh it and wait a minute or two for it to work.
In case it gives a clue to anyone as to whats wrong, my php.ini file contains this only:
upload_max_filesize = 64M post_max_size = 64M extension=imagick.so
Should it contain anything else to help with this? Again, I am on Bluehost.

I also got problems with imagick. Or the latest theme, not sure. I hadn't upgraded since 1.3.3 or 1.3.2 I think, but since using the latest theme and imagick I have issues.
I just uploaded files that were only 6MP in size, 110 of them. Previously I could easily process 150 12MP images at a time to drafts. But now it seems it timed out after 70 images. White screen.
It was working perfectly before. I am tempted to go back to before imagick.

Im not really a fan of this at all, but the only perk I can see is the 2 licenses thing, 1 for desktop 1 for laptop.
But a question on this - does anyone know for sure if you can have 1 license Mac and 1 license PC under the same subscription?
My wife still has a PC
if you could have one a pc and one of a mac that's a +1 for this new system.
Yeah I agree, just haven't heard a definitive answer if you can though? It SEEMS that way, but I'd want to be sure.

800 images live. Another 1500 to go.
Next release sounds good. Will it also include ability to change image sizes from admin (you've always had the options there, but they just don't work as you know) for all images?

20 at a time...such a voice of reason Fair enough, well in that case I might wait until we can personally edit what data we want in the IPTC. Then I'll do the reprocessing

You may find it "hangs up" depending on how many you attempt.
Example: Saving a post reprocesses the image automatically. It should definitely not hang up there. Example: Reprocessing 5 images...should be fine. Heck, 20 should be fine.
Its unlikely memory will be an issue this time. More like "script run time limit" which differs among people.
But...that will change based on your server configurations. If it hangs up due to errors, please send me the images its hanging up on so I can see if there is any unique info its tripping on. That should not happen though because I'm using a pretty sound script.
I was a bit eager to begin with...tried 250! No luck. Then 50. Worked the first time. Then the next 50. But for the third lot of 50 it hung, white screen, no error messages. Since then it seems to have slowed my site considerably. I'm on Bluehost, with Imageick running.

Finding a few problems with the reprocessing. Seems to just hang at times. Got a white screen or two. The site actually refuses to open in Safari at the moment now.
Managed to get in with Firefox, so probably a safari restart will fix it. But I might hold off on the reprocessing of images for now...

while testing the yoast SEO, I had yet another idea to keep Leo busy -- if you don't enter a meta desc, you get this in your webpage
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin v1.4.7 - http://yoast.com/wordpress/seo/ --> <!-- Admin only notice: this page doesn't show a meta description because it doesn't have one, either write it for this page specifically or go into the SEO -> Titles menu and set up a template. -->
couldn't the theme check for a meta desc when it's creating the page & create a temp desc from the caption or description in the iptc? for images it would usually be close to what we'd want anyway as a desc.
This is exactly the issue I brought up with Leo about two weeks ago. We need auto generated meta descriptions based on title/description of the image, and perhaps some other generic text like "Stock Photo:" if the user wants. Yoast has the ability to do all of this, it's just a matter of Leo finding a way to get it to work with the Yoast templates section But Leo is aware of this and has said he is working on it.

Thanks for your replies. I'm sure there are some agencies that it is simple at, but out of the ones I tried, simple didn't seem to be in their vocabulary (except Fotolia). Not sure if some fully understood what I meant though. I did do it at Fotolia, and yes it was easy. Seems strange to me that Fotolia has it worked out better than the others. As for Canstock and Dreamstime, the only options I saw was to get actual credits - not what I wanted. Especially with DT, the minimum credit pack was something like 20 or so, but I only wanted 7 for instance. Surely you should be able to get a single image, without credits, just paying with earnings. Anyway, I didn't raise this to go through each agencies process and debate the pro's and con's, but rather to say this: Agencies are always saying they are trying to find new markets and ways of selling. Well, why not look at your contributor base? You already have a captive audience. Make it INCREDIBLY EASY to buy images one at a time, no credits, no conversions, no packs, just click download and it adds it to your cart and you buy it - just a good old fashioned exchange of money for product. I can't see why this wouldn't add a few more sales to every agency. Thats my rant done for the week

Something came up this afternoon and I needed to buy a couple of images quickly for a little project. I haven't really had to do this before, so its new to me (always selling, never buying!) so if I have missed something please let me know.
But something struck me... Hardly any of the agencies that I tried allowed you to buy an image using the credit that you have in your account as earnings as a contributor. Eg: Say you have $50 in your earnings account that you've earned as a contributor and you want to buy 1 image using it.
I might have missed something, but it seemed I couldn't do it at 123rf, canstock, dreamstime, or shutterstock. I ended up being able to do it at Fotolia surprisingly enough.
These other agencies required you to buy a credit pack first, before you could do it. Perhaps you can use your earnings to buy a credit pack, but how does that help if you just want an image (or in my case 2).
So my thought from this experience is this: ALL AGENCIES need a SIMPLE way for contributors to buy images using their earnings, without pre-purchasing credits. Just buy a single image, money comes out from the earnings of the contributor. That simple.
Surely, this would be a way to boost sales.

Congrats mactrunk!
I had a BME at SS, up by about 30% on previous BME (3 months ago).

Found an unusual bug/problem, perhaps with the image processor (i'm on bluehost, not sure if we are using imagick yet or not? I forget where we're up to with that).
See this image of mine: http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-photography-black-linen-texture-background-image21870217
And then see it on Symbiostock: http://thpstockphotos.com/image/black-linen-texture/
Sort of moire type thing going on, can't render the fine detail properly.
Leo? Any ideas?
Yep! I know what it is. Its GD.
The good news - I'm redoing the image processing system. I've found a really good solution to use Wordpress's image classes to do most of the work, and to enhance it a bit to apply the watermark. I will also be putting in a "reprocessing" script or quite possibly just make it a plugin.
Solution for now: Any image processing issues just tolerate until next release. The next version is going to be quite depthy, and I finally have the time to "think" and do things systematically since everyone else has a manageable site right now.
This next release will probably be good enough that many issues will be permanently solved.
Cheers, thanks Leo. You're really making me keen to get my hands on this next release...!

Does anyone know how to limit the amount of featured images that get displayed on the home page? For instance, I would only like 12 images to be shown on the homepage under the Featured Images widget. How can I limit it to that?
I think you just need to limit the number of images you tag as Featured Images to 12. I don't think it works on a rotating basis.
Yeah that would be one way. But I'd rather be able to flag as many as I like, so that they can all be shown under the "Featured" category. But would be nice to limit how many the widget shows, sort of like the newest widget, it only shows 6 newest instead of every new image.

HUGE congrats on the first (or any!) sale.
Can I ask - do you know how the buyer got to your site? Google?
