They even provide a downloadable tool to enable you to 'collect' pictures from any site! http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/help#import (I hope the url works for non-members)

Does anyone know if this site has some sort of agreement with istock? Take a look here: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=233029They seem to be making collages with bits of pictures from all over the internet. A lot of the images are exclusive to istock. I have sent an email to support, but they say they make take up to 5 days to respond! Polyvores terms of service seem to state that they have a worldwide licence to use the images created on their site. Surely they cannot claim that on other peoples images? I just noticed that they are using images from Stockexpert too. Type your name into the search bar to see if they are using any of your images.

I find the best way to get views for a new photo is to put a comment on the home page once a week. That brings lots of views and usually at least one sale http://www.stockxpert.com/browse.phtml
I did this regulary for about eight weeks. The individual images got loads of views, but no extra sales. I think it is mainly other photogs who are looking at the competition!

They don't buy photos, they sell them! If a photo is technically ok, then give it a chance! If it is a matter of storage, then discard all the photos with 0 dl after 6 or 12 months; these photos do not sell...

I agree with you entirely. They are not giving the customers chance to see a lot of potential top sellers. All images with no sales after 12 months should be removed and fresh new images added. This should apply to all sites. I have had a reject with really a amateurish comment, 'The file is fuzzy'. The picture was one with shallow depth of field, so I presume they were refering to the focus. This is totally amateur, first the stupid wording, and secondly not to refer to the depth of field. It seems to me the reviewers really are new to the business, and their work should be checked more thoroughly.

Lol, is this a new way of earning money? Like: Oh, I do have a part time job, it is uploading to new agencies who are popping up all the time. The images do not sell, but you get money for uploading
Oh no you don't! Not in this case. I uploaded a couple of hundred images around 16th September. 85 of them were reviewed really fast. The rest have just sat there. I emailed support a week ago, and they said they would give my images priority. Not one has been reviewed since. I think this must have been a gimmick to get a lot of pictures without paying out a lot of money. Tomorrow is the 1st October, and passed the deadline. I am going to delete all my pictures then. $75 is not a lot of money, but I feel that they tricked me into uploading, when I would have let them have some pics if they had just asked me straight!

Is it in good condition?
There is one currently standing at $531 in an Ebay auction. You may have got a real bargain!

I use a similar system to Madelade except that I also add my keywords as a comment. (Just right click on a cell and add comment.) This is really useful when you take a similar picture months later, saves searching and loading the original to get the keywords. If the pictures are rejected for technical reasons I colour them red as a warning not to upload anywhere else. (I don't have many reds I am pleased to say.) If the rejection is for 'too many on site', they are coloured pink. My pictures are filed using the line number from the spreadsheet as the file name. Dead easy to find them. The spreadsheet is archived onto a hard disc alongside the pictures. I do this once a month. It work beautifully. As soon as a picture is ready for sale, I enter it onto the sheet, and I can see at a glance where each picture is up for sale. I like to track sales by the balance in my bank account!!!

The perfect site for me would have easy uploads, give the photographers a fair cut of the sales, and have loads of customers clamouring to buy the pictures. The keywords and categories would be entered by the site to prevent keyword spamming, and the search would return results that were really useful to the customers. A clear marketing strategy would be already in place, not just vague promises. New photographers would have a quota of uploads to stop the approval process being swamped with rubbish. Once they had a certain number approved and had proved themselves, the upload limit would be removed. Payment to the photographer would be prompt after the payment request, not days later, (after all, the site don't let the customers delay payment do they?) The sites the have subscription and single purchase seem to be doing well for me. Both types of customer are catered for. As to sizing, you should be asking your prospective customers, they are the one's who will be using the pictures.

Has anyone had any pictures approved at Snapvillage? I uploaded a dozen or so to try it out. They were uploaded on 25th June, and are still just sitting there. Anyone else experiencing the same sort of thing, or have my pictures got 'stuck'?

I finally got a payment yesterday, and they made a mess off it. The payment has been deducted off my earnings twice. I am waiting to see if it hits Paypal twice before I complain to support. In the meantime, my earning stand at MINUS $58.70! The credits I earned between the 11th and the 13th June still have not been approved.
