These glitches come along every so often - will soon be rectified.

Dead (RIP) slow!

Remains totally in the background for me - will shortly be pulling the plug.
A lot of effort and no gain!

Fotolia was a slow starter for me but now things are running steady there.

Congrats and wish you many more sales!

Adobe Stock / Re: sales on FT since search engine change?
« on: May 21, 2008, 05:36 »
My sales have been steady recently.

Picking up you could say , following the turbulence of the  V2 upgrade.
I'm finding reviewers there  more fussy these days though!

Yaymicro / Re: Yaymicro.com looking for contributors

I saw a site once which asked for suggestions for a Name.

Maybe they might consider. It may not be too late to change YAY before they really start marketing.

Sales are slow enough for me at the moment.

Re. Rejections - I don't have too many complaints.

The site is looking really good.

However, looking at the content of work since the search became functional, I somewhat agree with Contakt above.

I can see that they would like a large database for the launch, but really it's quality that will draw in  the buyers and also hold them.

About the name - well! - time will tell all!!

Fair play to all at YAY!

With the recent updates they are looking more professional all the time.
To me they are approaching this in an admirable way.

Thumbs up!

Just finished deleting my lot also.
We should'nt have to do this.
If they had any courtesy they would close accounts on request!

That's the way it is Velvia -  and you wont be hearing from them.

All you can do is log in and delete your images one by one - one per day!

I'm the same as Luoates - $10 for all and my last 3 sales were subs.

Well! there seems to be a move on sales now at Snap Village.

I've had 3 in the last few days!
How is it for you?

Cameras / Lenses / Camera Shake and Digital
« on: May 02, 2008, 02:55 »
I read somewhere recently that camera shake is more emphasised when using digital as compared to film.

Do you find that this is so ? - thus the more need for a tripod or image stabilisation!

Yes! Vonkara - buyers can bookmark you at SS.

BTW, how to you manage to change your username?
They have a form to dot his but it never seems to work!

General Stock Discussion / Toned Images - any market for ?
« on: April 28, 2008, 13:06 »
Just wondering if any of you have ever had a toned image ie. Sepia etc. accepted by an agency?

Shutterstock.com / Slowing sales at SS ?
« on: April 28, 2008, 02:51 »
Have noticed quite a few forum posts at SS have been reporting slower sales in recent times.

Are we to expect this as SS grows bigger with more competition among contributors or is it a reflection of the current global economy?

« on: April 26, 2008, 17:20 »
I think when it comes to getting your first submission right you could "stay up all night and all week" trying to get it right!
And with reviewers, as we all know, there is just no telling.

So! - I said I'd give it a shot.
I didn't hang about - picked 10 ( as varied as possible and with good concept) which I thought were technically OK and had done well elswhere.

If I failed - so what!, there would be another time.

Anyway, got in with 8 out of 10.

That's my story for what it's worth!

« on: April 21, 2008, 13:30 »
Yeah! I really think they should at least keep that open.
The shutdowns have been very frequent lately.

Albumo.com / Re: Closing Account @ Albumo

Still no response from them - so I too must start removing 1 per day.
I' glad I didn't upload very many.

473
I've had a few rejected recently for same.
I think when you throw in something with a bare sky you are really running a  higher risk of rejection.

But, on some previous rejections, I have took out the noise and they were accepted on second submission.

If the noise is apparent you really have to clean it up.

General Stock Discussion / Payouts & Exchange Rates
« on: April 18, 2008, 03:07 »
Just wondering will photographers in the Euro zone will be putting their payouts on hold with the current unfavourable exchange rate of the Euro against the dollar.

I have some I could take out but am going to leave for the moment.
