Not only that, the equipment costs are much higher over here. Just imagine, now it is for me totally worth to buy equipment in the US, pay the shipping costs, pay 19% tax on importing it to Europe (the tax goes on total of price of the equipment AND shipping), and than additional tax depending what equipment it is (Lens starting at 3% going up). I recently payed ~ 35% tax on an iPod which came from the US. Because of the Dollar I am really glad Ft pays in Euro for me as well as for Panthermedia which goes well for me and pays in Euro as well. However, I am not right now doing so much stock photography, but for us Europeans it means work harder and focus on quality which is by the way allways good

I never heard that anyone had a sale on naturallifestock. I bet your nature images will do much better in all agencies to the right form the top down to Panthermedia. The other agencies below that I do not really know so I cannot say anything about them.

I think it would be nice too. It may attracted some more vector guys as well. I am also getting interested in this vector stuff. I am playing a little with inkscape these last days.

No, I do not think they will take every image, I tried once as far as I remember and they rejected it to buy it, but accepted it for the assignement and increased the level to level 4 or 5. I think those they accept for buyout you would not want to get only 25$ for them.

Ratings and comments by the photo community does not affect any search engine placement, but rating by the the reviewer does. Participation in the photo community does not make a difference as far as I know.

I once had exactly the same problem and it was solved the same way as you solved it. I assume that if the color management is adjusted this way it is optimized for printing your images.

Istock 29,4% Declined a lot in Feb., very disappointing Panthermedia 22,4% Surprisingly good, I do not think I will make that much next month, because of new commision SS 19,8% Declined as well because of only one EL Ft 9% down StockXpert 9% up from last month DT 8,5% down 123Rf 0,6% down BS 0,5% down Snapvillage 0,25% up LO 0,14% down CS 0,05% very few images down
In average a dissappointing month.

@ptlee, take the 5D, crop the image to 8 MP and you will have almost the equivilant to the 30D cropped sensor and you are still able to have fullframe and if you do not need the reach more detail in your image and XL size at iS. But yes it will still not give you a faster fps. except if you shoot at a smaller size with the 5D.

Close to 100%, They seem to accept more than the micros.

Isn't the 350D and 30D sensor and processing chip exactly the same? I thought that the advantages the 30D had over the 350D were build and size, a general friendlier arrangement, faster burst, and superior AF/metering.
I think the processing chip is the same, but the 350D has a different sensor, it even has less MP 8.0 compared to the 30Ds 8,2.

Just checked, they translate the keywords. I recently submitted images with English keywords and I can find them if I switch language to German and search with German keywords.
@takestock As I said elsewhere I am doing well on Panthermedia. This month I already have a return of about 1 Euro/image. This is less then istock but better than SS and the rest on a per image basis. Next month I think they will also reduce the commission from 50% to 30% for those who sell their stuff on the micros, so I espect my earnings to decline because of this.
However, you have to be patiened there, often sales reports come in a month later. And I am mainly selling penguins, I do not know how well other images sell there.

Good to hear! If they go along with the price increase for the buyers, the new commission should be ~ 41 cents a raise by ~37 %. That would be a step in the right direction. Now it is time for DT ,StockXpert, Snapvillage to raise their subscription. Which agency will be next? Of course also for Crestock, but there it does not sound as if they will raise it anytime soon.

I dunno if the price increase has reduced the earnings so much. There are many diamonds who say there earnings increased. However my earnings declined by a double digit percentage. It never declined before in the last 6-8 month or so only increased considerabely until December. But in my case I do not think it is the higher price but it is the best match system introduced in the end of last year. This best match system only allows for a silver non- exclusive contributer like me to have 4 images in the top 100 of any search. The problem in my case is that I am a specialiste and have a niche where I am good at. So Only my 4 currently most popular by best match images show up on the first page, when you search for that particulat niche. The rest are forced back, no matter how good they are to a place beyond the first hundred. For a generalist this is of course a good thing.. For the buyer a bad thing I suppose.

One of the two most popular is mine and BTW I do not click on that image all the night long, I have better things to do. I totally forgot about that site until this thread. I was also one of the first, but uploaded only two images. No sales so far.

... Raising the commission does mean a deserved 20% increase to the photographer, but sales will however, remain the same. It doesn't generate any growth or increase the number of customers.
Josh, I do not agree with that, raising the commission means also an increase of numbers of customers. More photographers will join, and those who are there already and hesitate to upload will upload more because of a higher commision. A bigger library is something buyers might prefer. If I buy images I am looking at the agencies with the bigger libraries. But thanks, its great that you are here to communicate with us.

They are doing pretty well for me if I look at the per image earning (realtive for an up and coming), but I just uploaded very few images there, which are good sellers elsewhere. I do not like the 25 cent subscription earnings. I just calculated the average: 35,25 cent/dl. That is pretty low. I am not to inclined to upload more to them if they do not change something about it. But I agree, it is a well designed site with friendly people as far as I know.

I find it kind of slow too. I decided to try it out, but so far the side loaded so slow that I gave up. If I would be a customer, I would go somewhere else, if I knew a place where I can search faster.

Really nice image! I would give it a try, you have nothing to loose. Maybe they will take it if you submit it without the frame.
