Shutterstock.com / Re: SS is dying for me
« on: December 10, 2007, 17:35 »
SS all depends on the amount you upload. Lately I have been doing a lot of uploading so my sales there have picked up quite a bit. Last month was just $10 shy of my BME. SS is still easily my top earner, with about 45% of income, but IS and StockXpert are gaining ground. SS used to account for around 60% of income.

As a contributor, I can't complain.  :)
You will if the price increase is too much, and your revenue goes down.

It will go up at other sites I submit to then.

Agreed. Just resubmit it if you think it should have been accepted. That is likely the quickest and easiest way for them and you.

Why do all of you people care about the way Lione, or anyone else, keywords their images?

It gives their files an unfair advantage because they are abusing the system.

StockXpert.com / Re: subscription impact on sales?

In November I had 43 regular sales and 13 subscription sales.

$13 in regular sales for every $1 in subscription sales.

It is likely a steel cage download, which is some game of Istocks. It counts towards a download but you don't get anything. It's not being used for anything other than the game.

Hah! I was bored and wanted to test my luck. So i just randomly placed the 4 camera things, and I got 1! 2 free credits.  8) I have no idea what to do with these now hmm. I could buy one of my own images, do I risk getting in trouble though?

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia down?
« on: November 30, 2007, 21:51 »
I had my 1st real day with FT today.  So far 4 photos accepted and 3 declined yet the photos are no longer there so I have no idea which ones they were.  Is this normal for FT?  2 messages had no ref numbers and the one that did does't match any of my photos.  I'm affraid I'll submit the same ones again since I hadn't documented my uploads yet.

thx,
Connie

On the files page, where you see the 4 accepted ones, scroll to the bottom right and click the "view deleted files".

 ;)

No sales in awhile. I only have 20 files online there. Not going to bother uploading everything until they have FTP and show signs of actually trying to be successful.

General Stock Discussion / Re: How do you organize?
« on: November 29, 2007, 19:42 »
I use a very basic system. 2 folders on the desktop. Stock Illustrations and Stock Photos. The files are just numbered in chronological order, 1,2,3,4,5,6... I don't keep track of what sites reject and accept. I don't keep track of what sells where and how much each file has made me. I do keep track of my earnings overall though, and I use google spreadsheets for that. (I can edit it from any computer, excel not required)

I don't have a very big portfolio though.
Only 2.5gb of illustrations and 450mb of photos.

« on: November 28, 2007, 14:24 »
Site is loading a bit slow. And the last time I tried using FTP it wasn't working. I rechecked my password and username twice. Anyway, I'll upload some of my top sellers on other sites manually to see if they get any sales.

474
I don't see this as being that big of a chance. Not one that should confuse the buyers at least.

475
Is anyone using this? It seems like a handy tool to use.
