New Sites - General / Re: Clipart-box.com« on: February 16, 2012, 15:24 »
Why not provide some incentive for contributors to upload? As I see it there are some major problems with your site from a contributor point of view.
25% is not a competitive royalty rate. And not anything near the best offer on the web as you state on your website. Plenty of the new/small sites are offering decent commissions (40-75%) and in exchange I send them my illustrations even if they don't have many sales because that's where I would like to see this industry headed - a fairer split between agency and contributor. Why on earth would I want to submit to a site that pays me less than the average agency ? What would make me want to support a site like this? I might consider it if the site had heavy traffic and lots of sales, but I doubt this is the case here. The following are all non-exclusive rates at different sites: DepositPhotos - 44% - 52% ClipartOf - 50% GL Stock Images (Graphic Leftovers) - 52% Stockfresh - 50% FeaturePics - 50% YayMicro - 50% AllYouCanStock - 75% Drawshop - 50% CutCaster - 40% The3DStudio - 60% 123RF - 50% Prices are too low Not quite sure how vectors are prices, but it seems the range is $2 - $4. Extended licenses starting from $10 (5 times the standard price of a vector) is unheard of. 62
New Sites - General / Re: Clipart-box.com« on: February 16, 2012, 13:45 »
Yes. ClipartOf pays 50%
So does Stockfresh and 123RF (at least for the next 10 months). AllYouCanStock pays 75%. Shutterstock pays 25% - how do you know ? ETA: My percentage for single image purchases is 30% and I suspect approximately the same royalty applies to sub sales. 63

Even if the top 50 was removed, you can always click the vector category or do a search for "vector", then sort by downloads or popularity - on any site.

StockFresh / Re: StockFresh - Is the opportunity passing?« on: February 09, 2012, 02:02 »
26 downloads in total and just $3.5 short of a payout - looking forward to being able to withdraw. Earningswise SF is on par with (or perhaps slightly better than) FeaturePics, Cutcaster and YayMicro for me - sites that I also upload to in the hope that I'll get paid once or twice a year - still worth it in my opinion. What's to be impatient about? Get your large payouts every month from Shutterstock and Fotolia while slowly building up extra income from the smaller sites. I understand that some are afraid the small agencies will shut down while keeping unpaid earnings, but has that even happened before ? When Snapvillage closed I received my balance of ~$7 via PayPal. I was paid my due earnings from StockXpert as well when closing my account (after the Getty mess). LuckyOliver perhaps? I never had an account there so can't tell what happened..

I uploaded a bunch and 1 was rejected because of a problem with the preview, so I now I've got 149 images. So close but now it's too late

I've been with them since 2008, have had much more than 10 sales but only have 114 vector images there.
I could upload more to get my portfolio count over 150, but I would have to go through my old stuff to find images that I didn't want included in the first place. It's ridiculous to have portfolio count as one of the criterias as it doesn't say anything about quality. I may have to consider closing my account.. ![]() 70
Selling Stock Direct / Re: Check my page on Facebook« on: December 04, 2011, 08:01 »RacePhoto, pages are created from your main account. So you do not create an extra account with a different email address and therefore does not violate the rules. You access your pages also from your main account and can then choose to "login" as page administrator to make changes to it (all from the 1 account). Thanks for the description. I've just created a campaign and I'm excited to see the results. Love the possibility to pinpoint the target audience much more precisely than with Google ads 71

I've tried to request a payout twice today with the result of a database error. Both times the money was withdrawn from my account and added back a bit later. I created a support ticket, but will try requesting my payout again tomorrow.
