General Stock Discussion / Re: Just me or sell drop ?
« on: May 18, 2016, 07:38 »
I'm having a normal month

52
Not a smart move coming on here!
I thought the same.  The height of stupidity.  Stealing something and then coming and parading it around in front of possibly one of the people you stole off !!  Doesn't make any sense at all.

53
I just hit a new low with Alamy.   Sale price 2.23$ of which I get to keep 30% !!!

GLStock / Re: GL Stock Images - So what?
« on: May 12, 2016, 15:49 »
I've  only had 22 dls there this year!!! If we had to attatch model releases I wouldn't bother uploading there but with ftp it only takes a couple of minutes of my time so I upload and hope :D .

BigStock is a solid middle tier for me and if my images weren't bridged over I would still upload there.

I get a pay out every month.  It doesn't seem to have the dramas that most sites have from time to time and is easy to upload to.

I've wondered about this often.

If I were the agencies, trying to give buyers the most appealing search results, one of the factors I'd use would be a weighting per photographer based on sales success.

Now, you couldn't use gross sales because that would vary with portfolio size. You'd have to use a ratio, and the most obvious one would be total sales divided by portfolio size.

This is total speculation, of course, but if it's true then you might improve your search ranking if you reduced the size of your portfolio.

I think that DT use that as one of the elements in their search
.

dt??? LOL, you believe that?? my ratio of images to sales there is 2:1 (dl:port)
i still have been earning for past 2 years more dls with ss in one week that i get with dt in 2 years
The fact that you earn more at SS is irrelevant.

WRONG ! the fact that i earn anything more at any place or any business IS RELEVANT.
that is why we are in business!!! 8)

What I meant was that how you sell at SS compared with DT is nothing to do with  how DT order their search.  I do really well in the searches at DT with a huge part of my port coming up at the top of the first search pages but still don't sell a lot there compared to Fot or SS.

I voted for Ulysess.  Great photo. Good luck

There is another post going saying that the paypal addresses have been deleted from the account settings.  I went and added mine back in yesterday and my total has gone down so it looks like I've been paid.  Check and see if yours is still there.  I guess if there is no address it won't have been sent.

123RF / Re: Monthly earnings not calculated correctly
« on: May 01, 2016, 05:03 »
same here, but when I click your specific monthly earning (not overall) I can see correct amount but it is not added to my overall earnings
That's where I was looking.  Now when I look at my overall earnings I have quite a big chunk of money missing.

I just do photos and 123rf are usually my 4th best earner although some months Alamy overtake them.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Help with payments from Paypal
« on: April 29, 2016, 08:52 »
I've been getting regular payments from stock sites since 2005 and only ever once had a problem which was  sorted and was something that I had done wrong by mistake. I managed to get through on the phone to sort it out so be persistent.

I had a 250$ one refunded last month a few hours after they bought it.  Later that  day it sold for 90$. Nothing refunded  this month though

I've just looked at my graphs and they look perfectly normal.  I'm based in Europe.

72
I am heading to do slightly better than March. So no change here.

I guess theirs servers are not syncronized and some are more uptodate them the others.
Yes this has happened a lot in the past but it all goes right after a little while

Due to falling sales across the board, I haven't uploaded to any micro sites in the past year.  But if I were uploading, I would still upload to the sites you mention.  I dont consider them low earners as they each get me a payout or better per month.  To me the real wastes of time are Stockfresh, GL Images, Crestock, Pond 5 (for photos ), and any others that rank near or below them on the poll.
Exactly the same experience as you.  Monthly pay outs from the ones you mentioned and very little from the others.
I still upload to some of the others though.  GL because it's so easy as no need to link MRs, Pond 5 as I can set my own prices but if they reject a perfectly good batch again then I will stop uploading, and Stockfresh because I think Peter is a good guy.

Alamy.com / Re: Alamy- Any success??
« on: April 24, 2016, 04:20 »
Congrats on the 2k sale!  Was that RM?

I only have RF on Alamy, and usually sell pretty well there this month so far zero sales.  It has never happened since I started there in more then 5 years that I had a no sale month.
If you mean Dumc it was 200$ not 20000$
Alamy is rubbish for me this month too.  5 sales but only 62$ total.

Atleast you got 5 sales.. I am not use to 0 sales a month now :)
I guess so but by the time they take their cut from the 62$ I won't have made much more than you.
