It's upon request at [email protected]. Or you can upload your first JPG file to ftp.pixmac.com with your login/password and the section will be activated automatically. We're working on making it more automated...

I've noticed over the last few weeks that I am getting very few (if any) views on my small port in FT.  Before that I used to get quite a few.  Anybody experiencing a similar problem?

I can't even find how to get accepted or how to upload, on the Pixmac site.

What do I know, I'm only new to this game, but this prediction from Lisafx makes sense to me. I can only think though that it will be a good thing for those that stick with the program and meet the challenges.  

As to predictions - what will we do with all those same-same (or nearly so) factory images when design tastes change as they often do.  Think back to how images in adverts appears 10-20-30 years ago.  It seems to me that the vast majority of today's top selling images are very contemporary. What is the next "fad look" in design?

I've just had a wonderfull read of this older thread.  But really most summizing are just wild guesses. 

The simple thing is that nobody knows where this whole movement will end up.  The only certainty is that change will occur, and the rate of technology advance will ensure that the changes will be massive and probably in unexpected directions.

It has happened for centuries - technonogy changes the world, buit now the pace of change is simply breathtaking. We'd better get used to it though, coz it ain't gunna slow down  - quite the reverse.  And there will always be deniers who have a head-in-sand view of their little part of the world - best revisit the Luddites - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luddite.

I'm realatively new, but after this reading this I guess I'll stay clear of Deposit Photos.

I don't see any problem with this.  It's all up front and simply another service offered by the paper.

I'm a newbie here on the forum but I have been on a few sites for about 6 months (small portfolios).  the other day I added FP and I've received an encouraaging rate of views, although no downloads.  Am I deluding myself or is FP on the way up?

I used Windows Live Movie Maker.  It's a free download as part of the Microsoft Windows Live group of programs.  This is an extremely simple program to use and for simple projects such as my post it is ideal.  I have other quite sophitcated movie editors but these are overkill for simple movies.

I don't take credit for the video.  That was an idea from one of our other friends on this forum (can't remember in which thread).  But it is a good idea isn't it.  Now to get the "right" people  (eg buyers/designers) to look at it.  

Re the music - I originally used a Win 7 sample piece of music.  But when it uploaded Youtube suggested that it was possibly copywrite and gave an alternative royalty-free selection to choose from.  It's easy to do.

Re images.  I'm still trying out for IS & SS, but so far failing the test, usually due to low commercial value.  I'm sure they're right, but frustrating nevertheless.  It's just that the factory-made images don't inspire me.  I guess I'll just have to get over that hurdle - it's a me thing.

I'm new to posting here. But I have been quietly following the forum for quite a while to get a feel for this excellent avenue for MS photographers.

I'm now retired from the full time workforce and I've decided to give this microstock business a try.  I can't express how much I've learnt over the past 6 months or so reading here, and uploading to a few sites.  My photography has improved more in this last few months than over 30 odd years I've had, on and off, photography as a hobby.

I've posted my links to my stock sites and a short Youtube video of some of my images.  The Youtube idea I obtained from a poster on this forum - great idea, thanks. 

Please excuse my early images. But I am very open to criticism, ideas, helpful hints etc. on my progress.

Does anybody have a consolidated list of agencies that take editorial images?  I know DT and SS do and a few others, but what I am looking for is a list iof already available or I'll start to compile one.  Any help appreciated.
