Happened to me.

You are certainly not alone! It is so bad I have become numb from the shock.

503
Very true! I started in 2007 and have lost hope in Micro. It has busted apart from the seams!

I think it is important to be a realistic optimistic! If you have a specific niche that really helps.

I'm moving myself into Macro this year. It will be very hard to make this change and I will have to be patient but I see Micro going downhill and soon our work will be selling at 5 cents for an XXL.

504
Oh boy, that does not make me feel very positive...

505
How is arcangel for you? I'm thinking about submitting an application.

506
You can report this to etsy. At the very bottom of the listing there is a link in gray. I've had to report some of my work being sold illegally on Etsy. They take it down.

507
My apologies (above), I thought it was submitted to an agency ...

508
It is becoming a dump yard. You can find some "treasures" in the dump yard but it takes time ... I can't believe how many duplicates people submit too.

509
Someone mentioned if you become an Emerald at FT your income drops. It happened to me... I wondered why it dropped so much. I would have rather stuck with the old ranking and earn more.

I think once SS opened the floodgates with 1 out of 10 acceptance, things changed... I wish you the best of luck just be careful ... put your eggs in many baskets!

Can I exchange my early payment for a better January Algorithm! Sales are the WORST so far!

511
Honestly, I'm afraid to hire any model because I'm so afraid they will sue me when their photo gets misused and it happens! Even opted out of "sensitive use", they (buyers) still do what they want.

But the photographer should have never submitted the photo as commercial without the release.

Dreamstime does better for me than Fotolia BUT only old files are sold.

It would be interesting to also add if you are a .38 center. I think that would reflect some valuable information too.

SS is going down the crap hole for me... I'm in the .38 club. Doing this since 2007.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Creativemarket... your experience?
« on: December 22, 2016, 20:55 »
Q. Why did Creative Market report the gross and not the net on my 1099-MISC?

A. US federal income tax law requires that Creative Market report the royalties earned by Shop Owners, as the gross amount (i.e., prior to reduction for the fees charged by Creative Market). Our legal counsel instructed that this is the proper method of reporting. Please note that we are unable to comment on the operations of other businesses that may or may not do this differently.

Just make sure you know for this year.

Good for you for discovering this! It looks like their port is removed.

Be aware if you are a US citizen they include "their" share in your MISC 1099 - So their money is reported on your gross sales even though you never see it.

I left them because of that - same with PhotoDune.

Also, watch out for the licensing they generously give. Set the price high to make it worth it.

It is very hard to resist the urge to upload!

I have paused uploading for the past month ... I'm on the cliff about doing macro for 2017 so I'm shooting but not uploading anything. It is hard for me to commit but the spammers and junk are winning.

I assume many will be off for the holiday though...

Print on Demand Forum / Re: Ashley Art Studio selling on Amazon
« on: December 18, 2016, 22:24 »
Have your ever looked at AliExpress? Don't get me started! They even took one of my photos that wasn't for sale on microstock and are selling it. I can't find a link to send a notice either.

It really sucks for sure ... I don't know if agencies allow for this kind of distribution or not.

Shutterstock.com / Re: November and December Drop in sales
« on: December 15, 2016, 10:56 »
November and December are very bad - December being much worse... I am debating to go with Macro at this rate.

523
This is so scary! I see a lot of my work being given away for free. I spent so much time and energy fighting these websites I eventually gave up... It is so hard to stop these illegal websites. I think "regular" people don't realize it is all illegal too.

524
That is so scary but I'm happy to hear your port is back up. Gives me faith in SS.
