This is my lowest sale to date. I've seen the $1.50 threads but thought I'd just share this anyway. I guess the 90 minutes it took to shoot this clip and the hour to process it is only worth $3.36. Keep up the great work shutterstock.
Here's what SS considers to be worthless. https://www.shutterstock.com/video/clip-1030079846
Well, $3.36 is a laughable commission of course, but I'm sure the clip will sell more than once (and for higher commissions too), so I'm sure you'll make a profit in the long run for your hard work.

Non-sub sales have indeed been reduced to about 25% of what it normally should be. If it's going to be exactly double the amount of March, then I know enough: subs revenue won't be able to outweigh the drop in regular sales, and Canva is topping it up for 6 months...After which Canva can happily sit back and see subscription revenue flowing in, while contributors can once more eat dust.

Mix it with your existing portfolio, there's no benefit in creating a new one for each style (if that's even allowed at all). Some agencies have the option of creating collections or sets to keep things structured.

Why isn't he taken down yet? To those who've found their videos, have you reported him yet?
I reported it, but they only took down my videos from his portfolio.
Unbelievable. They really couldn't give a crap if there was other stolen content in that portfolio.

I'm all for discounts on covid-related images and videos that could help the public cause. But giving discounts for the sake of getting business, at the expense of contributors is a no-no.

Pricing for video sounds decent, but starting a "new" agency in this day and age without any unique selling points? Good luck.

Wow, I was wondering, just when Crestock closed down: "what about that other small agency, Cutcaster..?" And whaddayaknow, they close down the same month! I left Cutcaster years ago, as there were almost no sales. I had almost forgotten Cutcaster was put of for sale a year ago, apparently no buyer was found.
Seems like this economic crisis (due to corona) was the final nail in the coffin and it's weeding out the small fish in the pond and give the industry a good well-deserved shaking.

Yep totally silent here as well, Shutterstock is doing fine in terms of video, but Adobe has dropped off a cliff.

Ridiculous title, totally misleading. Shutterstock did not closed acceptance of new videos or images.
You make it sound as if Shutterstock released a statement to contributors to postpone reviewing, but the reality is this is just a bitter post from someone venting his frustration about rejections. Which is fine in itself, but don't make it sound like it's an official statement and needlessly scare contributors with misleading titles.
FYI, I got my uploads (both video and images) reviewed and accepted within 2-3 days.

I've been thinking about this a little bit and i can't make sense to the fact that reviewers have trouble doing their job due to covid-19, because reviewers are doing remote work, as most of us, they stay more time at home and are really able to review more images, so no reason for longer review time or for a collapse in reviews that requires to put a limit.
I think a significant portion (off-shore) reviewers normally work at an office somewhere and are now required to work from home. In some cases, their home may not be the ideal working environment. Not only do they have to adapt to a (temporary) new working environment, there could also be limited access to the reviewing system, decreased office communication. plus the fact that most people are living with kids and/or their partner. Productivity will most likely decrease just because of that. Also keep in mind that some reviewers may be personally affected by corona, or someone in their family, which means they can work fewer hours. Especially in third-world countries where access to hygiene products and protective gear is limited. This could also affect the workforce as a whole.

Glad I left that sinking ship years ago.
Shutterstock is doing on of the same things and is sinking fast.
Yeah, but no. There is quite a difference between blue whale Shutterstock and plankton Crestock.

Not getting involved with moving accounts around to get the best deal...BUT it looks like I can at least get my original account re-instated or something...anyway, far too confusing to follow....but Support have re-enabled Photoshop so I can work, and given me some free months in case it takes a while to sort out the redemption code. Phew! A marathon but in the end may be ok, if a little odd about my country.... But overall... PHEW!!!
LOL so no answer why you set it up in dollars instead of euros to begin with?
Also, keep in mind that some European people may have found Fotolia back then via Google, entered the US site, set up a USD account, not knowing there was a European site with an option of EUR payment.

Guys, don't fall for this obvious bait. At first I thought Canva was going to show us all some financial support by doubling our commissions as a gift, as we're all dealing with the corona crisis, but in reality this is just your average 'exciting news' crap and yet another step in the race to the bottom.
First of all, note the eye-catching 'double your earnings' subject of the email. That's red flag number one, almost like a scam email. Secondly, the allergy-inducing words 'we are very excited to announce...' is red flag number two.
Then they say: "one of the top pieces of feedback weve received from our users is that they want to have access to all the paid content on Canva". Hello Canva?! Just because a buyer wants to have a BMW for the price of a Volkswagen, doesn't mean a car dealer has to give in to that demand!
So Canva succumbs to market pressure and mindlessly hands over your premium content to reel in gullible subscribers. This will effectively cannibalize regular downloads. Contributors may feel like being in heaven because of "double earnings", but only for a short while. This guarantee lasts only 6 months, which means after that, Canva is no longer bound to its promises and revenue could easily plummet to new depths.
No real-time earnings either. Of course not, why would they? They know you have nowhere else to go. Then you probably want to opt-out of this sweet deal? No can do, either close your account or shut up and eat our crap.

I do regret having spent time on uploading there, hoping it would somehow boost my sales. What a complete waste of time that was.

Note the following part: "...into another site within INMAGINE ECOSYSTEM".
Apparently they put footage on INMAGINE site(s)? without contributor's consent, similar to what Pond5 did?? They probably received some complaints about this 'ecosystem' but I haven't heard about this.
Edit: Is 123RF a brand of INMAGINE? Or is INMAGINE an affiliate site?
Edit no. 2: Wiki says: "123rf (part of Inmagine Group)", so it looks like they are going to stop accepting footage. Well, their review system was slow anyway, I won't miss it. I don't expect to get an invitation.

Increased competition from other contributors (both quality and quantity), market saturation, the industry's race to the bottom which reduces the number of OD and Enhanced License sales, corona crisis, commission cuts....So there you have it.

Matt may i ask you ,why a videographer needs to earn around 20000k to get all plan apps and a photographer needs around 2000$(depending on rpd) It's huge difference.. Btw i really appreciate the bonus..
I also only upload video (full time job) and got to say that 625 downloads is an impossible (or extremely unrealistic) target. Maybe film factories can easily do it but one man bands is near impossible. Now I've got to figure out if I'd prefer After Effects or Premiere?
Exactly. The first year we needed $500 in video downloads, now it's the equivalent of about $18k in video sales...That's hard if not impossible to achieve, especially considering the impact of the corona outbreak on stock sales.

I uploaded mostly vectors on Alamy and I say, don't bother. Your mileage may vary but I've uploaded around 1100 images (both vector and raster (not photos)) to Alamy and after 8 years it's good for a whopping 0.2% (you read that right, zero point two %!) of my total stock revenue.
Then again, they mostly have 'poor discoverability', because I couldn't be bothered to select 'supertags' for each image.

Thanks for the bonus program opportunity this year.
However, I already know that I won't be eligible for the All Apps plan, because there's no way I will hit that magic 5000+ download number by the end of the year...Especially when the corona crisis is hitting the economy hard.
Edit: not sure if this means I should hit 5000 new downloads in 1 year, or I should hit the 5000 number of All Time downloads?

I haven't sold any new images in months, maybe even years at both agencies. Silly me I keep uploading though. I think I'm out of this business this year since I spend many hours, sometimes days on one image or clip and they are just not worth it. They never were with these low prices/sales/reviews anyway but these days they are far more of an annoyance. Most of the time even thinking about Microstock depresses me. I'm just not cut out for this. I don't see much difference between us and prostitutes (and not even the classy ones) I'll feed them a few more to test the waters and be certain they do hide my work/sales and then it's bye bye. I've told this to a fellow contributor a few days ago, the lowest an artist can sink is working with Microstock agencies and to be honest it never felt right from the start. I also feel even during these difficult times they still like to play games, be it their reviewers or other staff and that is pretty disgraceful if you ask me.
Good luck people and be well!
It could be your style of work is not the right fit for microstock, but is your work in demand anywhere else? What kind of images do you shoot or make?

No, I have no experience with that. But if it would happen to me, I wouldn't accept their offer, especially if I felt the reason for the previous account termination was unjustified.
Is it a micro or macro agency? I assume it's not one of the bigger microstock agencies (I've never seen that happen).
