People that use the word 'snowflake', are usually the biggest snowflakes of all. They're also the most likely to tell people to 'look things up' and to 'think for themselves', when the majority of their talking points have been thought for them. If you'd be so kind as to use the words awake, msm, elites, woke and sheep in your reply... then that'll be house on my conspiracy/anti-science/right wing bingo card.
Would you mind telling me the definition of "msm" please? I haven't noticed my "woke" niece using this one on facebook.... I know, I'm such a lemming.
Main Stream Media, Fox News for example. A place most snowflakes get their speaking points from.

Shoot new world order, transhumanism, central banks, social credit systems, loss of personal property. More bioterrorism. Frankenfood made from soy, disappearance of beef. Plant-based food. Big agriculture.
Yes, great advice, indeed! In other words, shoot QAnon and other conspiracy theory topics.

If anyone still wonders how the Russian 100% state-owned media is brainwashing the masses, here is an example: https://twitter.com/wszewko/status/1501577670672457735Comment from the Twitter OP: Please see what the host will do on the Zwiezda (Ros.) Channel when the program participant mentions that Russian soldiers are now dying in Ukraine ...... and here is a loose translation of that exchange: - Here we are many persons with military experience from Afghanistan, the Chechnya campaign, and Donbas. We have there even our boys from Donetsk and Lugansk and special forces who are dying now, and our country... - No, no, no, no! I don't want to hear that! Listen to me! Wait! Stop! Listen! - ... they die, anyway... - Wait! Stop! You can't stop or what? - ... I only want all of us to stand now and keep a moment of silence in their memory... - What are you doing? - ... a minute of silence for our boys who fight for Russia ... - Can you stop him? - ... and for Donbas... - Can you stop now? I will tell you what our boys are doing. Our boys are destroying the fascist scum(?) - ... it's correct, but... - Let me finish. This is the triumph of the Russian army. It is the rebirth of Russia! The only question we can ask ourselves now is what floor number that officer will accidentally fall from.

Hopeless you guy's believe everything the media tells you.
Media is the plural form of medium, which (broadly speaking) describes any channel of communication. This can include anything from printed paper to digital data, and encompasses art, news, educational content, and numerous other forms of information. In other words, the media is what makes the difference between informed, educated people and flat-earthers, who only believe what is in front of their eyes. Informed and educated people never "believe everything the media tells" them, but are capable of critical thinking being able to discern between facts and propaganda. This is why flat-earthers and brainwashed people are not very different, because both categories suffer from different forms of knowledge impairment.

Don't forget, there are very talented people in Russia, and if they are squeezed into a corner, they are capable of miracles.
You spelled Ukraine wrong.
Exactly! Otherwise, we can see that we have more than enough examples in this forum to better understand how effective Putin's propaganda machine is. I'm convinced that these sanctions will not work unless toughened way beyond what we have in place now (e.g. no more Petro-dollars to sponsor Putin's war machine), AND kept in place for several years, or enough time to make the regular Russians realize that something is wrong with their Dear Leader. It took Romanians years of suffering, with rationed food, rationed gas, in dark and cold apartments, in much worse conditions than the Russians have today before realizing that enough is enough. So, MrVector has a point, not because Russians are special, but because it takes years and even generations to root out the damage inflicted by propaganda.

No, this is not "cancel culture". It's "cancel war". But no worries, even if sales to Putin's state own media (= ALL media) and propaganda machine are blocked, there is always piracy. https://torrentfreak.com/russia-will-probably-legalize-some-software-piracy-to-mitigate-sanctions-220307/From this point of view I agree that this is just a symbol, far from being an effective war deterent. Otherwise, I encourage you to do whatever you consider necessary to keep your conscience clean. One more thing: consider donating to the Ukrainian war victims (links above). That would add real real value to your post and would be a very professional thing to do.

In case clarifications are still needed:
Geo-Restrictions use IP recognition software to block your images from appearing from certain IP addresses. Therefore, your images cant be licensed from the territory of Russia.
Thanks for clearing that up.
No problem. I wish I could do the same with Shutterstock. I just had 3 sales from Moscow today. I suspect that these are part of a subscription pack paid before the sanctions became effective.

Yeah, because them Russian photographers have been the most vocal when it comes to pushing for war?
Yeah, I heard that Russian secret photographic group actually forced Putin into war, threatening to blind him with Godox flash.
Not because of that, but because their international earnings will be fueling Putin's war economy, sponsoring the destruction of Ukraine, and the murdering of innocent civilians. You don't want to be part of that, do you? I hope not. But again, this is a moot point. Russian contributors are de-facto banned because they can't access their earnings anymore. The same thing happened to Russians who use to make money from other American platforms, like Twitch: " Payouts to the financial institution associated with your Twitch account have been blocked as a result of sanctions, ... Twitch complies with economic sanctions imposed by the United States and other governments, and is complying with those imposed in response to the situation in Ukraine. These sanctions may limit or impact your access to payouts, ability to monetize your stream, and/or financially support other creators."

Just got the answer from Alamy:
Weve now added the geo-restriction to your account, so you wont see any direct sales to the territory of Russia.
Does that mean that they will sell it, but you don't see it and you will get no commission from it? Lol then
No, and you know it.
Even if, as I said above, I don't want any blood money from Russia.
You must admit, what Alamy says is distinctly ambiguous, and very strange wording, although in this case, hopefully the first part of the sentence is correct: "Weve now added the geo-restriction to your account, so you wont see any direct sales to the territory of Russia." It would have been more logical and usual to say "... ... so your files won't be directly sold to the territory of Russia"
Probably just bad wording, like that quoted on another thread by Sean, where Dreamstime says on their homepage: Headline: "Help charities fight the war against Ukraine!" Which could definitely be read in two ways* if taken alone, though presumably they are actually supporting Ukraine, as the next sentence is: "5% of our revenue will be donated to charitable organizations helping Ukraine as a War Relief Stimulus."
*If you doubt the ambiguity of the headline, how would you interpret: "Help charities fight the war against Hunger"?
Yes, I agree that it could have been better formulated, but as you said, the first part of the sentence was more than enough to confirm what I requested them to do: Dear Alamy,
In the light of the recent Russian aggression of Ukraine, I can't accept being part of the Russian war economy.
Please restrict the sale of my work in Russia.

They restrict sales based on geography as explained above. You can't see things that don't exist.
.... even if I alone don't get money from Russia, I don't care because I don't want to have anything to do with Russian blood money. You are contradicting yourself here. Or it is that Alamy doesn't sell your photos to Russia or they do but you don't get to see it and receive any money for it. So which of the two is it? Because your first remark, which was a quote of Alamy, as you say, clearly states that you will only not see the sales and not that they are not going to sell it. Or did you misquote their reply?
This is no highjacking, but strictly on topic.
You are ranting all over the place in almost every topic about Russia Maybe we decide on one topic and do all the discussion there instead of the 9 topics about this subject currently on the front page. And maybe other people that have started those topics can move it to Off-topic where it belongs by now.
There is no contradiction. Let me try again, sometimes things have to be repeated to go through: What I told you is that even if I'm the only one not getting money from Russia, in other words, Alamy keeps everything (reason why you laughed out loud)... I don't care. That's because I don't want to have anything to do with the Russian blood money. What happens is that Alamy is restricting my work to be directly sold in Russia. Is that clear? I'm posting the two charities again, I'm encouraging you to donate to: https://www.dec.org.uk/https://novaukraine.org/I'm not ranting. I am on topic.

No, and you know it.
Even if, as I said above, I don't want any blood money from Russia.
Chill down a bit Zero. I am just asking you a question because you state literally that you won't see it but it doesn't say it's not being sold. So what is it they do actually at Alamy's?
And do you know, that you are almost hijacking these whole site with your Ukraine frustration, right?
They restrict sales based on geography as explained by the OP. You can't see things that don't exist. I also said that you have no reason to laugh out loud because even if I alone don't get money from Russia, I don't care because I don't want to have anything to do with Russian blood money. I also suggested that you better do some good, instead of laughing: https://novaukraine.org/Btw, donations to Ukrainian charities were also suggested on the same forum and topic indicated by the OP. They proposed to donate to: https://www.dec.org.uk/This is no hijacking, but strictly on topic.

Perfect? You are further away from perfect than fart from smelling nice. Same as China , Russia and similar imperialistic and colonialist forces creating trouble for years and bringing misery wherever they show up.
Isolated examples ? You had been in war for 227 years in your 244 years history of which almost all on others people lands.
And I don't see a tree from a forest ?
I see couple of wolves fighting over power for centuries making peaceful people miserable and pulling them in wars that could easily been avoided. And we live in nuclear times.
People of Ukraine are being killed by a psycho in the middle of a fight for imperialistic dominance while other psychos are planning their next move.
You asked for a modern example of fascism. I convinced you that Russia is a fascist state. The rest is just your typical whataboutism, reality spinning, and Russian propaganda speaking points we are all too familiar with.

Once again, you are trying to implement I dont agree on that. I fully agree.
The problem is that is that you and half of the world are so focused on them that you fail to realize how many boxes some other countries check with yours being high on the list.
So... you do admit that Russia IS a fascist state. We are making progress, although you still can't refrain from throwing in another "whatabout". Otherwise, no, we don't fail to realize "that". No democracy is perfect. There are several boxes checked by the USA and other democratic countries, most of them temporarily, and most of them corrected by a healthy feedback loop (like democratic elections, inter-institutional checks-and-balances, the justice system...). You are systematically focusing on the trees and you don't see the forest. You are desperately looking for isolated examples, for exceptions matching your rhetoric and you wrongly extrapolate them to the whole. That's your problem and that's how propaganda is working.

Nice spin. Yes they are, together with other invader on sovereign countries.
No spin. You asked for an example and you got it. You're welcome. You may also want to educate yourself on what fascism is. FYI, fighting wars is not a sufficient reason to call a regime fascist. It may not even be a necessary reason. A regime can be fascist without any involvement in wars. These are the main boxes checked by all fascist regimes: - Authoritarian leader - Suppression of the opposition - Submission of the economy to the will of the government. - Submission of the justice system to the will of the government. - Suppression of the free press and free speech - Aggressive nationalist and cult of personality propaganda. In other words, there is little difference between communism and fascism. The only difference is their position on the private property The communists are confiscating it, while the fascists are tolerating it, as long as the owner is executing the orders of the fascist government. Russia checks ALL boxes. We can add the aggression of several sovereign nations to it if you want. Russia simply switched from communism to fascism.

Russia. Russia is a fascist state. 100%

Extremists are everywhere.
I can give you US examples from Charlotsville, from the Capitol insurrection, and more. It doesn't mean that the USA is a fascist regime. We always had a strong opposition, private companies can censor the president, individuals can sue the government and win.
However, Putin's regime is checking ALL fascism boxes. Russia is today 100% a fascist state. There is zero doubt about it.
You asked for an example and you got it. Consider yourself educated.

This doesn't have a precedent in the modern world. If you know about one please educate me.
You obviously need to be educated. You have the most obvious precedent in front of your nose, but you refuse to see it. The whole Putin regime is a fascist regime. His fascist army invaded an independent country after they brainwashed a very large majority of the Russian society (+ you) into believing that they are fighting fascists. That pseudo-swastika symbol they adopted is pure irony.

https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2022/03/04/adobe-stops-all-new-sales-in-russia
Great move by Adobe, since their products are very likely to be heavily used by Putin's state controlled media (i.e. all russian media), propaganda and fake news machine.
This is a good and consistent decision.
Whatever happened in history: We live in the here and now. It is legitimate to refer to crimes - including those committed by the West - in the past. But there is no justification for what is currently happening in Ukraine. That's why I think this step by Adobe is very good.
And, to be clear, I interpret this as a decision of AS against the Russian regime, not against Russian contributors!
That's also how I read the announcement. However, Russian contributors will not be able to renew their subscriptions, not just because of Adobe, but mainly because Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Paypal, etc are blocking Russian transactions. Moreover, we should not expect to get sales from Russia anymore. One more comment: Russian contributors can't get paid, for the same reason they can't buy Adobe products. So the title of this thread is rather a moot point, for now. The fact is that Russian contributors are paying taxes to the Russian government. If their content is sold internationally, then money from the EU, The USA, etc will be used to fuel Putin's war machine and his crimes against innocent Ukrainian civilians. But this is a minor problem, compared with the way we continue to sponsor his war machine with the money we pay for his gas and oil.
